Chapter 14 I: Can’t Choose Which One to Marry
The black Bentley drove straight to the downtown area.
Wendy put her arm around the window and looked at the strange road. “Where are we going?”
“Go to the company,” said Clare.
Wendy wanted to ask something else, but when she saw that Rex’s eyes closed and his black suit’s craft was impeccable, he looked meek. She was afraid of disturbing him, so she didn’t say anything more.
The Gavyn Group was located in a prime area.
Wendy got out of the car and saw the magnificent hall as soon as she entered. She swallowed a mouthful of saliva, and Rex glanced at her directly. “Follow me.”
She trotted after him.
Rex didn’t mind their relationship at all. When the employees of the Gavyn Group saw that Mr. Gavyn had brought a woman back, their eyes widened.
Kincaid was already waiting there when they pushed the president’s office door open. “Mr. Gavyn, I have brought the household register here. Do you think…… Wendy?”
Kincaid’s flattering smile froze on his face. He walked over and grabbed Wendy. “Why are you still with Mr. Gavyn? You, last night-”
Wendy’s face had turned pale, and she was just about to explain, “Dad-”
“That’s right, we were together last night,” Rex said in a deep voice. His tall-and-broad figure looked down at Wendy, causing her to feel suffocated.
He took the household register from Kincaid’s hand and sat on the sofa. He crossed his long legs and casually flipped through the household register, not caring about Kincaid’s shocked expression.
“Did you bring her ID card?”
Rex’s sudden voice rang out. Wendy looked into Rex’s eyes in shock.
“Yes, yes, I did.”
When Kincaid’s voice rang out, Wendy realized her bag was on the coffee table.
Rex smiled with satisfaction. “Since you’ve brought it, then it’s easy to do. We’re going to the Civil Affairs Bureau later to register. Mr. Walters, oh no, maybe I should change my address – Dad.”
Kincaid shuddered, and his eyes widened. “Mr. Gavyn, what are you……”
“I’m just fulfilling the promise between Dad and you. Don’t you see that I’m marrying a daughter of you?” Although Rex was asking, his voice had a hint of mockery.
“No, no!” Kincaid hurriedly pushed Wendy away and moved closer. “Mr. Gavyn, our Wendy is still young and in school. But Jenny is different. She has gained a firm foothold in the Walters Group at a young age and has a potent business mind. You see-”
“Mr. Walters.” Rex’s face darkened, and the atmosphere in the office suddenly became cold.
Even Wendy was shocked. Rex said sarcastically, “I’m getting married to a wife, not a business partner.”
Kincaid was speechless.
Wendy felt a sharp pain in her heart. Sure enough, her father loved her sister the most. Then what about her? What was she? Was she just a pawn in the eyes of the Walters family?NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Wendy sneered. Perhaps she really should marry Rex.
“What? Could it be that Mr. Walters isn’t willing to marry Wendy to me?”
“Of course not!” Kincaid hurriedly waved his hand. “Both are my daughters; I can’t choose which one to marry. Of course, I’d be happy!”
These words were so sarcastic. Wendy looked at Kincaid’s pale temples and gritted her teeth.
“If that’s the case, let’s get our marriage certificate today.” Rex’s thin lips parted slightly. “From today onwards, Wendy will live with me.”
