After mom 8
8
“Mom, I don’t know why grandma died. Everyone says it’s Lucas’s fault, but I didn’t want grandma to die. I didn’t mean to…”
My head exploded! I had thought my mom’s death was an accident caused by Lucas’s mischief, but I never imagined it was Emma’s deliberate instigation!
Emma Wilson, how dare you!
Rage surged to my head, and I immediately called the police.
But after questioning Emma, the police let her go due to lack of evidence.
Without concrete evidence, as long as Emma refused to admit it, no one would believe a child’s words.
Emma insisted that Lucas was saying these things out of guilt for indirectly causing his grandmother’s death, trying to push everything onto her to alleviate his own remorse.
Lucas was only a five–year–old child. Even if what he said was true, it held no legal value.
I was so angry! I was truly so angry! I wanted to rush over and kill her with my bare hands.
Jacob held me back tightly, his eyes red–rimmed, repeatedly whispering in my ear, “Don’t worry, she will pay for this!”
I screamed and pushed him away, “You all deserve to die!”
“My mom died so unjustly! This is all because of you! Why don’t you go die! If you hadn’t gotten involved with Emma, she wouldn’t have resorted to such means to climb up, killing my mom! Why don’t you go die! Why couldn’t it have been you who died instead!”
I was in so much pain and anger that I wanted to destroy everything.
Jacob looked at me with bloodshot eyes, muttering, “We will. We’ll all face retribution.”
He looked at me painfully, “Abby, is there really no chance for us anymore?”
I replied, enunciating each word, “Not unless my mom comes back to life.”
He deflated immediately, “Alright, let’s go get divorced”
The divorce proceedings were quickly completed. Soon after, a friend forwarded me a post online.
“Jacob Thompson posted this under his real name. Has he gone mad? Does he not care about his reputation on the internet anymore?”
The post was written in first person, with Jacob detailing how he had an affair with Emma, how Emma had manipulated Lucas into harming my mom, and how she had orchestrated the whole thing to frame my mom, trying to drive a wedge between us to secure her position.
“This post seems to have some powerful backing. Big and small marketing accounts are all reposting it frantically. It’s dominating the trending lists on all major platforms. Jacob and Emma’s names are still hanging on the internet!”
My friend said
My friend said angrily, “The mistress and the cheating man are getting what they deserve. Serves them right!”
Because of this incident, Emma’s image as a piano goddess that she had built up online crumbled overnight. Fans turned against her in droves, unfollowing her en masse.
All her social media accounts were flooded with insults and curses.
Emma cried, begging netizens to leave her alone, but it only invited more cyberbullying.

The online abuse wasn’t enough to vent people’s hatred for her. It even spread to her company and home.
Unable to bear the harassment, Emma posted an apology video online.
In the video, she knelt at my mother’s grave, repeatedly kowtowing and slapping herself, “Auntie, I’m sorry. Auntie, I was wrong. I’m a slut, I’m a homewrecker, I’m a murderer. I deserve to die…”
Emma’s face was swollen like a pig’s head, but she still didn’t win anyone’s forgiveness.
Later, she called me crying, screaming for help in terror.
