Replace Train Tickets
At around 4. 30am, the sun was still in its place, the sky was still dark, even the clouds had not yet revealed their white color, but the blind man with his blind stick was already preparing with a suitcase in his hand that was being dragged into the living room. He had deliberately asked Haris to book the train ticket early in the morning, because of the long journey between Jakarta-Kendal that took 7 hours alone. Haris also woke up early because he had to take his friend using his private car to the train station. Arriving at the station, Haris helped Gifer unload her luggage.
“Are you sure Gif is going home alone?” Haris’ question was still the same as last night and it made Gifer uneasy.
“How many times do you want to ask, Ris? If you want to come to Kendal with me, let’s go. Don’t ask too many questions,” he replied a little snappishly because of the same question from Haris.
“I’m worried about you, Gif. You’re my only friend, I’m afraid something will happen to you,” Haris argued with a worried expression on his friend’s face as if it was normal.
“Relax, nothing bad will happen to me, trust me. I’m a man, just like you, I can take care of myself,” assured Gifer while showing a little smile on his thick lips.
“Alright, if anything happens, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ve set up your cell phone so that if you press the number five, my name will appear, just press the center, it can be directly connected to my cell phone. You just touch it,”
“Ready!” Haris hugged Gifer briefly, then released him…
“Be careful.” Gifer nodded.
He walked away from Haris when there was an announcement that the train number had arrived. With a little bit of asking some people about his seat number, Gifer immediately sat down and the train departed.
The train started to run leaving Haris who was still standing looking at Gifer who was getting dragged by the speeding train. The one inside the train felt the window on his right, pulling up the thing that covered the train window so that later when the sun showed its nose, he could feel the heat from the sun.
The bench next to Gifer was intentionally empty because it was rare for people to ride the train this early in the morning. Gifer took the bread that he had put in his jacket pocket. He opened the bread and immediately ate it to fill his empty stomach so he wouldn’t starve when he slept on the train. While he was chewing the bread, out of nowhere his mind suddenly remembered a girl he met at the river where he committed suicide and the central library of Jakarta. He also remembered the incident at that time, when the girl accidentally kissed his thick lips. He smiled slightly and touched those thick lips.
“It turns out that there are also many memories in the city of Jakarta. I haven’t asked what the girl’s name is yet, even though she’s annoying but she’s considerate too. That accidental kiss made me unable to forget her. When I was with Raya, I didn’t kiss at all. Let alone kissing, skinship never. Hahaha, what is that? Why am I comparing myself to Raya? It’s definitely better with that girl. Eh? What did I say earlier? Hah… she’s the one who already annoyed me so much, why am I thinking about her? Forget it, forget it, forget Gifer and focus on eating!” Gifer still remembered those moments and occasionally smiled embarrassedly and smiled.

Elsewhere, Belvina and Anggi were still lying in their respective rooms exploring their dreams because their tickets were still at 08. 00, but without waiting long, the alarm from the rectangular object made them wake up from their dreams with each other even though they were in rooms that were only bordered by one wall. In Anggi’s room, the girl immediately woke up, turned off the alarm and immediately grabbed a towel, preparing to go take a shower. Yes, even though it was still very early around 5 a. m., they had to get ready and make breakfast first, right? That’s what Anggi had in mind at the moment.
“What time is it already?” Anggi monologued while looking at her cell phone.
“Ah, it’s still 5 a. m., it’s still too early to leave, but it’s okay, I’ll cook breakfast first. Eh? Vina is awake yet? What’s important is that I take a shower first, if Vina hasn’t woken up yet, I’ll wake her up later after showering.” She continued, then put her phone back down and hurried to the bathroom in her room. It was spacious, just like her room. They rented a fairly spacious apartment so that it would be more comfortable for the two of them to live in while in Jakarta. Yes, even though they had to start from scratch. In the past, their apartment was still a small apartment, even though it was small but what was important to them was the comfort and safety and now after working at WR Bank, they were able to rent this large apartment.
While Anggi was taking a shower, Belvina hadn’t woken up at all even though the alarm had gone off many times but she didn’t care at all because she couldn’t sleep last night because she was thinking about Gifer who she had missed for the past three months. Gifer who was in trouble about his job. Belvina was worried that after that Gifer would commit suicide again after losing his job. All night thinking about Gifer, as a result at this hour she hasn’t woken up yet. The 7th alarm rang, the time was already 5:30 am, then the girl woke up, began to open her eyes slowly, adjusting to the bright room lights. Rubbing her eyes a little, restoring her life first, then she moved from her sleeping position, taking the cell phone that had been ringing non-stop. Yes, even though Belvina knew the phone had only rung once. After trying to press the ‘turn off alarm’ button, she found out that her cell phone had rung more than 5 times. Instantly her eyes bulged at that.
“Crazy, why am I so careless that I can’t wake up earlier? I didn’t even wake up until the alarm woke me up? Crazy, this is breaking the record! Seven times the alarm went off very loudly but I only woke up on the seventh alarm. You did great, Bervina!” she exclaimed as she clapped her hands together, like someone who had won a competition.
Just about to get out of bed, Anggi had opened the door to Belvina’s room first. Intending to wake up her best friend who had already woken up with her cell phone alarm.
“Are you awake, Vin? I thought you weren’t, but I wanted to wake you up, hehe,” with a bit of a crisp joke, Anggi was still standing in the doorway of the room. Belvina also smiled, showing her white teeth to Anggi.
“Hehe, yes Gi. I couldn’t sleep last night, so I had to wake up this afternoon. Uh but our ticket is at 08. 00, right? But…” instantly Belvina’s facial expression hollowed out moodily. Making Anggi confused.
“Why, Vin? Are you sick?”
“No… it’s just…”
“Speak clearly, Vin.”
“Why don’t we go to Kendal?”
“What do you mean? Heh, are you crazy? If we go to Kendal today, we might not even leave tomorrow, Vin. What about our reserved train tickets to Bekasi?”
“Might as well take the day off, what’s the big deal? We’ve never been on leave before, Gi. I’m actually worried about Gifer. He went back to his hometown in Kendal blind. I have to catch up with him! I’m really worried, Gi. He even just got into trouble at the Foundation where he works. He must be blaming himself right now,” Belvina firmly wanted to catch up with Gifer, but Anggi stopped her.
“But…” Belvina held both of her best friend’s shoulders to reassure her.
“Gi, please understand this time, hmm?” Belvina’s pleading expression made Anggi melt.
“Alright, but have you prepared yet? Clothes and things to bring, that is.”
“Already, I prepared everything last night. Noh, the suitcase is just a matter of pulling it. Come on! I’ll cancel the previous train ticket, even if you have to pay it’s fine. I’ll order a train ticket for Kendal,” Anggil nodded.
“Alright, book the tickets, take a shower, and then we’re off.”
“Ready!”
