Chapter IS

The moment my foot stepped into the restroom, I was suddenly drenched by someone pouring a bucket of water all over me.

I could hear laughter, and soon I was surrounded by Lady Emily and three more ladies who looked like her friends or minions. They all stared at me with disdain.

“What’s the meaning of this?” I couldn’t help but ask, because I didn’t understand what I did to deserve this harsh treatment.

“You’re so clueless, it’s almost pitiful,” Lady Emily sneered, her voice dripping with anger. “You think you can just waltz in here and think you’re one of us? Let me burst your bubble. You’re nothing but a pathetic little wannabe, trying to dress up and act like someone you’re not. You will never be accepted here, in this pack. You’re a joke, and this”-she gestured to my drenched clothes “is just the beginning of what you deserve. Girls!”Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

She called, and soon more girls entered the restroom with champagne glasses, splashing their drinks on my dress. I was in shock.

What was all this?

As if that was not enough, Lady Emily placed her heel on the hem of my dress and deliberately ripped it.

“Girls, let’s go!” I watched in disbelief as they walked out of the restroom majestically, as if they had just done a very good thing.

With anger boiling within me, I pulled Lady Emily back into the restroom and landed a hot slap on her face, shocking her to the core.

She held her face in fury and raised her hand to slap me when the restroom door was pushed open and Luna Sandra walked in.

It was at that point that Lady Emily fell to the ground, holding her face in pain as she cried profusely, which got the attention of the Luna.

“Emily dear, what happened?” Luna Sandra asked, but Lady Emily didn’t answer. Instead, she increased her wailing, holding her face tightly.

G G.

“Did she hurt you?” Luna Sandra asked, directing her gaze to me.

“She did?” Luna Sandra didn’t wait for Lady Emily’s response before landing a slap on my face, not once but twice.

“Come on dear, let’s go! Derek has to see what this lady has done to you, the next Luna of this pack. What an abomination!”

I felt tears dripping from my eyes, wondering how my life became this way. A month ago, if anyone had told me that I wouldn’t still be a member of the Red Moon Pack and that I would be sold as a s** s**e to another pack, I wouldn’t have believed them. But look at me now, in a strange man’s pack whose members didn’t even seem willing to

accept me.

They were all right. Since I was a **x s***e, I should behave like one and not try to push myself and become something that I never was. I never belonged anywhere. I was an abandoned child who no one wanted, even my own mother. If my own mother could abandon me in a forest, then who was my fated mate not to? It was like this was my fate. I would never be fully accepted anywhere, no matter how much Alpha Derek tried his best. I was a nobody and I shouldn’t try to destroy others’ perfectly made lives.

I stared at my battered dress and looked at myself in the mirror. The person reflecting back at me was someone I couldn’t recognize. Even though I was looking healthy, my dress, which had made others swoon, now made me look like a mad woman.

It was now I really wished I had a friend. I felt so alone in this world that I was suddenly sent to. Right now, I wished that I had died when Dylan and Mira planned to kill me. Perhaps, my soul would be at rest and I wouldn’t be facing such hatred and disapproval from everyone around me.

“Annabelle, what’s wrong?” I heard a feminine voice rush into the restroom. As I looked up, I never expected to see Lorraine. “What happened here? You look like you just fought a war and lost.”

“Because I did. I just fought a war and I did lose. In fact, I’ve lost right from the onset. This war I’m fighting, I don’t think I can ever be a winner. I’ve lost this war from the moment my foot stepped into this pack.” I cried.

“What’s going on?” she asked worriedly.

I sniffed and shook my head, not ready to bombard her with things that might not interest her. “It’s nothing for you to worry about. As the Beta’s wife, you shouldn’t

concern yourself with a mere slave like me.” cleaned my eyes.

“Come on Anne, don’t say such things. You’re not a mere s***e, you’re the alpha’s favorite, and I can see the love the alpha has for you. He doesn’t take you for granted… He was even the one who was worried that you hadn’t returned from the restroom and sent me to go fetch you, only for me to see you in this warzone and in a mess. Who did this to you?”

“It’s them.”

“Who are the ‘them’?” she asked, her eyes scr**g the surroundings.

“It’s Lady Emily and her girls. They did this.”

“Oh my goddess. Why would they do such a thing to you?”

“I have no idea.”

“Shit. This is so bad. They really dealt with you so badly… It looks like they were all attacking you at once… Sorry dear…” she hugged me and patted me, even with my wet clothes.

“I will have to report this to Alpha Derek.”

“Please, no!” I screamed, stopping her.

“Why not?”

“Because I don’t want to disturb him during his party. This is something I can manage You can just tell him I returned to the castle because I wasn’t feeling well…”

“But…”

“I will try my best to get myself out of this hall unseen. Just help me relay the message to him so that he won’t be worried.”

“Hm…” She sighed, “alright, I would help you get out of here unseen, but it would be great if you allow me to report it to Alpha Derek before it gets out of hand.”

“Report what to me?!” Alpha Derek’s voice boomed.
