Boyfriend For Rent

Chapter 7 Surprised

AUDREY POVContent provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Ivan is the most annoying creature I’ve ever seen on earth, but he still remains my buddy though. After work, I left the bar, and drove my car out of the place. I know you may be wondering how I own a car, and still working as a waiter, well the truth is, I’m not poor, at least, I own a house and two cars, I’m just doing this waiter job, because I wanna know how it feels to work under someone else. I can always get a better job with my qualification, I have a degree in journalism, I’ve got so many job offers, but I turned them all down, coz I’m not ready to do that for now.

I kept nodding my head to the cool music, coming from my car, as I drove down the road, when I spotted someone, walking down the road. Even if I didn’t see her face, she looked like someone I know. I kept hooting my honk, but she never stopped, neither did she looked back to check where the loud honk was coming from. I drove fast and double crossed her, almost knocking her down, and as she turned to glare at the car, I confirmed my suspicion, she’s really someone I know, my very own crush, Nora.

Her lips moved, but I didn’t hear what she said, as the window glass was serving as a barrier between us, but judging from her expression, I didn’t need anyone to tell me that the beauty was angry. Whining down thw glass, I peeked out of the car, and gave her a smile.

“Hey angry beauty.” I teased her, as a chuckle escaped my lips.

She gasped, as her hands flew over to her mouth, having a surprised look on her face.

“Audrey…” She mouthed surprisingly.

“Surprise to see me? Where are you headed? It’s already getting late, aren’t you supposed to be at home by now? Let me guess, you sneaked out of the house, because I know Ivan will never allow you leave house at this time, or maybe he’s not yet back from work.” I teased her.

“Yeah I’m really surprised to see. One question at a time please.” She rolled her eyes, as a sheepishly smile settled on her face. She look so beautiful whenever she smiles, and just seeing those sexy smiles, makes me think about crazy things. Funny, right? Well, I’m not trying to flirt with her, so don’t misunderstand me.

“How about you hop in and let’s hang out together, but don’t let your brother hear about this, he might kill me if he knows.” I chuckled lightly. Seriously, I don’t know why Ivan always flares up, whenever I talk about having feelings for his sister. On a second thought, I don’t blame him. I’m a flirt like him too, he must be scared of me breaking his sister’s heart, or toiling with her heart, but I really love this angel standing before me. It’s no longer a crush, but it’s now love, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes me, to make Ivan realize that I love his sister, and approve me being with her.

“Sure.” She shrugged, then walked over to the other side of the car, before hopping in on the passenger seat beside me, after which she fastened her seatbelt, and tucked her hair behind her ear.

“So, where are we going from here?” She asked, as she glanced at me, and looked away to the road.

“I’m famished, so let’s go grab something to eat, bills on me.” I winked at her, then turned on the ignition, and stepped on the accelerator, before setting the car on motion.

“You haven’t told me what you’re doing out by this time.” I said, not taking my gaze off the road, as my hands kept doing magic on the steering wheel. My driving is skill is top notch, I’ve won many races, so I don’t think I need anymore explanation.

“Was just taking a walk.” She replied simply, but I know she wasn’t telling me the truth.

“That’s weird.” I said to her, as I took a left turn, and started driving to the restaurant downtown.

She didn’t say a word, as she just kept staring out of the window, with her elbow on the window frame, her palm, holding her chin up, as the wind blew on her face, swaying her hair, revealing her beauty the more. Even if she didn’t say anything, I know she wasn’t ok, she is not the same cheerful Nora I always know her to be, maybe I should ask her what the problem is.

“You’re ok?” I asked, as I glanced at her, and took my attention back to the road. I was almost at the restaurant, so my movement was slowed a little bit.

“Yeah I’m fine.” She flashed me a smile, which dissipated almost immediately, her gaze still out of the window.

Letting out a soft sigh, I nodded slightly, as I decided not to talk about it again, since she didn’t wanna talk about it either.

I finally stopped in front of the restaurant, and parked neatly, before stepping out with her. We both walked side by side into the restaurant, as we were welcomed warmly. There weren’t many people present, so we just walked over to the empty seats at the corner, and sat down opposite each other.

The waiter came running to us, to take our orders.

“What would you like to have sir?” The young man asked, showing me their menu book.

I took a quick look at, before settling for chicken soup, along with cheese burger.

“I’ll have sandwich with chicken breast.” She ordered.

The waiter bowed, then walked away and came to serve us.

We both started eating silently, our attention on the food, as none of us spared ourselves a glance. I was really nervous, never knew I could get this nervous in my life. Sitting with someone you have a big crush on, is really a big deal, yeah?

“Audrey…”We were still eating, when I heard a familiar voice called my name, and raising my head to look at the person, I was welcomed with the least expected people…
