Chapter 08

Locked up I

Raymond hurried to the door of Elina’s apartment. The door was locked. She wasn’t in, maybe she already at work. He ran out again, getting in his car and drove off. He’d missed her calls last night, she might have thought he didn’t want to pick them but that wasn’t it. When he tried calling her back she didn’t pick. It rang for hours. She wasn’t picking and he was calling her now. And the phone was switched off.

He was damn worried.

When she told him, she liked him, he was confused at first, he like Elina a lot. He didn’t expect to be so straightforward with him. He’d thought she won’t never confess. Because he knew she liked him. And he like her too. He just couldn’t bring himself to tell her.

And he was so stupid to tell her, he didn’t like her. It just slipped out off his lips before he could stop it. And the look on Elina’s face, when he said that. She looked so disappointed. But tried to hide them behind a smile.

Elina, he really need to see you right now. He increased the speed on the car. Driving towards Carols.

“Hey Barbra.”

“Hey Ray.”

Ray glanced around searching for Elina, but he couldn’t see her.

“She isn’t here, she quit.” Barbra replied nonchalantly.

“What do you mean she quit. She won’t do that.”

“That means you don’t know your best friend too well.” She turned the laptop towards him, showing him the letter Elina wrote to Carol last night.

“Satisfied?”

“But why?”

“You’re asking me that, where were you when she needed you, because she confessed to you, you chickened out. You left her for days Ray, you didn’t call and didn’t even bother calling back. She told you she was okay, it was a lie. She cried that night you told her you don’t like her.”

“Is that why she quit. I like Elina.”

“As friends, I know.”

“I mean, I love Elina, I want her.”

Barbra jaw dropped.

What the hell is wrong with guys.

“Why didn’t you tell her that!” She yelled.

“I don’t know, I’ve been asking myself that too. I need to see her. Do you know why she could have gone?”

“She didn’t tell me where she was headed. She said she got a job and she was going here.”

“A job? ”

“Yeah. A better paying job.”

“From Who?”

“Ethan. I later got to find out it was from him. I’ve been calling her since she left about hours ago, she’s picked up the phone, and now is switch off. I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”

Ethan.

The name hang on his throat.

“Did she say anything else.”NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

“No..” she thought for a while.

“Yeah, that it was far from the town, like two hours drive from here. She was gonna be a cook or whatever I didn’t quite grab.”

“Ethan, shit!” He cussed.

This was the best way to get a revenge. Why didn’t he come for him instead. Why Elina?

If it was two hours drive from here, did he perhaps take her to Kenzo.

Oh no!

He ran out.

“Ray! Your car keys.”

He ran back taking the keys from Barbra and ran out again.

First he need to meet up with Ethan to confirm his suspicions. And meeting up with Ethan he definitely gonna beat him up.

Elina might not know, he was quite as rich as Ethan, and they had knew themselves for a long time now, though they don’t get along. Ethan wasn’t someone he feared, and dealing with him was just a piece of shit.

“Where is she?” He asked, holding Ethan by the collar and pinned him to the wall.

“Who’s there, take this money out of here!”

“Where is she? Ethan, am not asking again.”

“I thought that would be perfect revenge and it truly was, I didn’t just kill two birds but three.” He laughed.

Ray punched him, making blood spill out of his mouth.

“That was rough Ray.”

“Is about to get more rough for you, if you don’t tell me where she is in the next ten seconds.”

He punched him again. On his abdomen, blood came out of his nostrils.

And he coughed a little bit of blood because of how hard the punch was.

“Fine. I’ll tell you, she might have been dead by ..”

Ray punching him harder. Ethan collapse in his hands. Gasping for breath.

“Ready to tell me now.”

He only nodded.

“Good.”

“Where is she?”

“Ken… zo” his voice was almost a whisper. So faint. Ray let go of his collar and he fell on his face. Two of his guards came running in. And ran to attack Ray. He ducked the first blow, thrown at him, and head butted the guard. Taking him unaware and flip him over his shoulders.

The other guard pulled out his gun, Ray kicked it off his hands. Giving him a high length kick on his jaw.

And he made his way out of Ethan’s apartment. Running towards his car.

Hold on Elina, I’ll come get you.

Just hold on.

He drove through the high way in speed, not giving a damn on the rule he was braking. He just had to get her from there. Take her back home where she belong. Beside him.

Kenzo drove into the compound, a guard came out of the car and opened the door. He’d just round off the meeting with the board of directors.

“Welcome back Sir.” Ben greeted taking the suitcase from his hands. And walked ahead of him. Into the house.

Immediately he step his feet in the house. Every clattering stopped.

Only Elina voice was heard, making her wonder why they kept quiet until she turned her head towards the door.

He didn’t say anything at first, but glared at Aziel who had an appealing look.

Then he strode in. With every step. Elina could feel her heart running marathon race. Who was he?

The boss around here. The one to give her the job. She stood, seeing Aziel and Jaro standing.

The look he had on was a look to kill. His appearance said it, he wasn’t someone to joke with. But couldn’t denied the fact he was handsome, than anyone she’d ever see. He appeared ruthless.

This was Kenzo she had so much heard about. Kenzo Brennon. She gulp and wait as he came closer.

But he didn’t come to her and stop right in front of Aziel.

“I toId you to lock her up. What did you do, sit down and chitchat!” He barked, his voice was like thunder. Though he wasn’t talking to Elina she was already shivering.

“I—I-”

“You went against my instructions. And you know what happened to anyone who does that.”

He stretched his hands and a gun was placed in it. He held it and cocked the gun.

“This is for going against my orders” He pulled the trigger and shot at Jaro in the head. Instantly he slumped.

Elina gasped. And moved backwards wishing she could disappear into the wall. Or just let the earth swallow her.

At that moment she just want to leave, run faraway from here.

“Clean up this mess. And lock.. her up” He eventually glanced her way. Seeing Aziel still rooted to the floor.

He could tell he had frightened him.

He approached Elina, she tried to run but he his long hands, held her back. And draw her back to him. He held her the hair, pulled her along into a dark alley.

Elina struggled, with the way he held her, he won’t released his grips one bit.

He walked to the end of the alley and kicked a door with his feet opened and hurled her inside, the room he called his dungeon, recks of alcohol and cigarettes. With urine. The room was dark and dusty. There was chains on the wall, whips too.

along, dragging her into a dark room that recks of urine and cigarettes. Hurled her inside. His hands still gripping her hair and not doubt if he let go, some strands of hair would fall of. And it did pull off.

Undeniably, the pains were suffocating. When she stares at his dark eyes, the only thing she saw was darkness.

“Let go, let go of me you bastard!” She spit out. That only made his mighty five fingers appear on her face. Which sent her head spinning on her neck.

He made her kiss the earth. And slowly breathed in her face.

“Your life ends here….” his voice was deep baritone and cruel and that was when she felt the shivers down her spine.

“Please let me go!”

“The moment you stepped in here, you couldn’t just leave the way you want. It’s too late.”

He let go of her hair. And walked out of the room. Shutting the door behind him.
