His Best Melody
Nima and Joel walked to where he had parked his car, and they settled in.
She smiled at how he had opened the door for her like a true gentleman and helped fasten her seat belt.
Nima had noticed while they walked to the car that he constantly mumbled something under his breath, which she had asked to confirm if he was saying something to her, but Joel said he hadn’t said anything.
A little restless at how the rest of the night will proceed, Nima decided to say something to break the still mood.
“Was the old woman alright?” She asked.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Joel glanced at the temptation beside him and nodded.
“She’s cute, but too daring. I nearly had a heart attack when she was about to fall.” He replied before asking something that made Nima grow confused.
“Where do you stay, Angel?”
Turning to look at him, she met his gaze that was fixated on her. Her heart skipped a bit at the realization that he was planning to take her home.
What about all the talk that he wants to spoil her with his body?
The silence lasted too long for Joel to not inquire if there was something wrong.
Nima quickly averted her gaze. “Everything is fine. I was wondering why you asked.” She said in a soft tone.
“You refused my request to pick you up. Are you going to deny me taking you home?” Joel asked with his brow raised, and Nima shook her head, resigning to the fact that the night won’t be her night to be sexually explored.
Keeping her thoughts together, she smiled at him and replied that she wouldn’t mind it if he took her home.
Joel connected the location to his car navigator and drove towards her home.
“Did you enjoy yourself today?” He inquired.
“More than I thought I would.” She said in earnest.
“No dull moments with me.” He joked before saying in a serious tone, “I’m glad you didn’t regret our first date. I had the best time of my life as well.” He added.
Nima’s heart skipped a bit at his declaration.
They both remained silent during the drive, with Joel focusing on the road and map location while Nima stared outside the window to take in the beauty of the city.NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
It was past 1am into the night when they arrived at Nima’s apartment block.
The street was silent, and people only walked by every now and then.
Nima’s heart tightened at the thought that the night had ended so fast, while Joel kept his desires and reluctance bottled up.
If he spent more time than necessary with the woman, he was sure to take her that night, especially when she looked so sultry and willing to go all the way with anything he had in mind.
Upon putting the car to a stop, Nima attempted to open the door, but Joel stopped her. “Let me.” He said.
He stepped down and went to her side to assist her with the door.
Nima smiled at his gesture, feeling like she was living the life of the women in her favourite romantic novels.
“My lady.” Joel remarked, extending his hand, which Nima took with a slight shake of her head at his antics.
Nima stepped out while he assisted her out, just like he had done when they arrived at the park, but this time he hadn’t let go of her hand, while using his other hand to push the door shut.
Nima’s heart began to beat loudly as adrenaline coursed through her. Her every sense ignited by the touch of their hands alone, which he still refused to part.
Turning to face her, Joel addressed her. “Which floor is your apartment located on?”
At that moment, realization dawned on Nima that perhaps his intention had been to spend the rest of the night at her home.
With a trembling heart, she inquired, “why are you asking?”
Joel chuckled softly before replying, “To come stalk you every day.”
Her eyes widened a bit, and Joel rolled his eyes teasingly. “Just kidding.” He said, taking her other hand in his.
The space between them has reduced, but still considerate.
Nimalaya felt her throat dry as she gazed into his eyes, the moon seeming to highlight the soft silver mixed in his brown orbs as it shimmered. He’s got such beautiful eyes.
“So, you won’t tell me?” He inquired, and Nima shrugged her shoulders, not complying.
“Okay.” He resigned before asking, “can we do this again, Angel?”
“What?” Nima asked in a soft voice, their closeness still setting her heart and body ablaze.
“Me and you going out and knowing each other better.” He replied, looking serious.
Seeing her hesitate, Joel let go of her right hand and raised his hand to pick a few locks of her hair, twirling it between his fingers as he inquired, “Do you not like our time together? Have I messed up somehow?”
Nima’s eyes diverted from his hopeful eyes to follow his hand movement with her hair.
“Look at me.” He demanded, and she instinctively returned her gaze to meet his.
“Say something.” He probed, stepping closer to Nima, who took an instinctive step back, her back softly resting to the car.
Joel smiled at her flustered expression while realizing Adam had been right.
Nima isn’t looking forward to a future with him past the night they are currently at.
His eyes searched hers for a few seconds before stepping back to give her space.
Nima saw the disappointment that flashed through his eyes and decided to speak up.
“It’s not like we won’t meet after today. You agreed to be my co-host for my channel after all, and I’ve announced it.” She replied too fast than she intended and saw him wearing a pensive expression.
Running his hand through his hair, Joel bit down on his bottom lips for a few seconds before meeting her eyes and asked. “Is that all you want?”
Nima had no idea what she wanted. How would she put it that her life has been so weird that she couldn’t even be sure about what she wanted in her life or what she had left behind and couldn’t recall.
At the moment, she feels content with just having her desires fulfilled, but deep down in her heart, she wondered if she should let another person that didn’t repulse her go.
She only had Emily, and it took months before she loosened herself towards the delivery man from her favourite restaurant.
Joel came and everything changed. One of her desires intensified, and here she was at the brink of achieving it.
All they needed was to head somewhere private, and he could do all he promised.
Nima wondered why their conversation was drifting from the intent. Was he serious about them taking things seriously?
“Nimalaya, is that all you wanted?” Joel repeated, as if he would actually give up on her if she affirmed.
Heck! He was willing to give all it takes to have thoughts about him invading her mind and soul, while his body invades hers.
“I don’t know.” Nima said, her lashes quivering as uncertainty clouded her mind.
Joel let out a soft breath before taking a step closer to her once again.
Leaning his lips close to her ears, he softly whispered, “I do not expect you to be sure of anything yet, which is why I’m asking if we could go out again.
Then I can slowly let you know you want me. I will make you realize I can be so many things that your heart desires. I just need your consent and for you to free your heart with me and let things flow.
Don’t set a goal you only want to reach, but one we should reach together.” He coarse, his breath fanning her ear at every word he uttered.
Nima felt a shiver run down her spine, and she said his name in a small but sultry tone, “Joel.”
“Yes?” He asked, bringing his face even closer to stare into her blue eyes, their face just mere inches away from one another.
Nima’s eyes darted down to his lips and his towards hers.
The strong urge to seal their lips together overwhelmed both of them, but Joel broke the moment by saying, “I have something for you, Angel.”
He stood straight and dipped his hand into his trouser pocket, while Nima still looked dazed, trying to process how things heated up in one moment and dropped the next.
Her body and emotions are being stirred to the max.
“You refused to let me pick you, so I wasn’t able to give this to you.” Joel said, pulling out a small box and extending it to Nima, who was slowly coming to her senses.
She inquired, “what is that?” Before taking it from him.
“I like giving memories to the important days of my life. I want you to have something of mine so that a part of my existence stays with you.” Joel said with a soft smile.
While knowing deeply in his heart that the sound of her laughter will forever be his best melody.
Nima opened the box to see a beautiful necklace with a star shaped sapphire pendant in it.
“Can I?” He asked, extending his hand to take the necklace before unhooking it and putting it around her neck.
The proximity once again made Nima conscious of him.
“I want to hold you, Angel.” Joel stated as his hands, which had just finished securing the hook of the necklace, gently wrapped around her.
Nima’s erratic heart nearly went into overdrive as he softly inhaled her scent.
“I have wished to do this since the moment I laid my eyes on you, but I’ve been rude enough to you in our first conversation and didn’t want to push my luck. You smell divine and are the most beautiful existence I’ve ever come across.” He said in a low, raspy tone that melted Nima’s nonexistent defence.
“J…Joel?” She called his name in a small voice.
“Hum?” He asked, still hugging her.
“Would you like to come up to my room?” She asked.
