Chapter 15

Afterwards, mom had to work two jobs. I tried to help out best I could. I bought everything I could used. Hell, even my bras and panties came from second hand thrift stores or goodwill.” She explained.

I just wanted to not be a big burden money wise to mom. Her jobs were crappy and paid crappy. Kim and Sam even gave me their clothes they didn’t want. Hell, half the stuff they gave me they bought brand new to give me.” Raine paused to see how the guys are taking in what she’s said.

“I can imagine the kids at school. We’re they mean to you?” Jax asked.

Raine smiled. “At first they were. But I shut that shit down really quick. I loved my parents and they did their best. I was not letting anyone make me feel bad because of how we lived.” Her voice got rough.

“I broke the main bitch’s nose when she started her shit and the rumors. Kim and Sam backed me. After that everyone knew that they had the trio to deal with if they started anything.” She shrugged.

“Afterwards if they said anything, we never heard it. They at least were smart enough to not say anything to our face or so we could hear. Sam and Kim always had my back.” She smiled.

“That’s my wildcat! That’s why I liked that name for you. I knew you were a fighter.” Jax smiled.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

“I was enthralled by Marty. He was the first guy to really pay attention to me. He made me feel special. He told me how beautiful I was. My daddy was the only man to ever tell me that.” Raine explained.

“Baby he just played you, worked your weaknesses.” Jax replied.

“I know. I figured that out the hard way.” Raine grimaced.

“How? Did he cheat on you? Or hurt you?” Jax asked.

“That’s the funny part, he didn’t cheat on me. I didn’t have the old boring story of “girl meets boy, boy cheats on girl, girl leaves boy”. Nope, I had to have a fucked-up story.” She grimaced.

“As for hurt, well that’s a bit complicated.” Raine explained.

“Explain.” Jax commanded.

“Getting there. After mom got killed in that car wreck, I was only 17. His dad pulled strings and kept me in my home, paid my bills, and I finished up high school without having to go into the foster care system.” She looked at Jax.

“Marty moved himself right in with me. He continued to buy me lots of stuff. I still don’t know why he was constantly buying me things, things I didn’t even ask for or want. Everything he bought is still in my old home. When I left, I only took what was really mine.” Raine explained.

“Things were great in the beginning. While I was a minor, I had not a single problem. But shortly after I turned 18, it started to change. He started to become more possessive. He’d tell me what I could wear, who i could see, and when I could see them.” She frowned.

“We started going to bigger clubs. He loved to party. It took me months to catch him snorting coke. When I caught him, I broke up with him. Drugs were a deal killer for me. My dad was killed for drug money. Some druggie needed his next fix and robbed and killed my dad for it.” She retorted.

“So, did he ever hurt you, like hit you?” Jax asked.

“No. He never hit me or punched me, never slapped me. Just the possessiveness and the drugs killed it for me. The day after I broke up with him, I packed my stuff and moved in with Kim. She had moved an hour away from home for beauty school.” Raine replied.

“Marty found me a little while later. He forced me into his car, and took me home to his condo. That night he did something he had never done. He forced himself on me, in my, ahh, in my…” Raine’s face turns red.

“In your ass?” Jax finished for her.

“Yes. It hurt so bad, and bled. The blood really scared me. I had little sexual knowledge. I only knew what my friends told me and what he showed me. And so, I was scared to leave. Afraid to make him mad and have a repeat. The next thing I knew, he put a ring on my finger and said I was his fiance. He said I belonged to him because he had paid for me.” She whispered.

“That motherfucker!” Jax growled, interrupting her.

“I offered to pay him back every penny, return everything he ever bought me. He just laughed at me. He said the only repayment he would accept was me. And if I left him, he would find me and take payment from my ass every time. And anytime I made him mad, or disobeyed him, he did just that.” She swallowed.

“So, I did my best to not make him mad, and did everything he asked. But little by little each day it was killing me.” Raine replied.

“So, how did you finally get away?” Ice asked.

“I grew a backbone, or smartened up. Whatever you want to call it. I recorded him snorting coke and partying it up with some very questionable men. I sent a copy of it to a tech friend that he didn’t know about. I then sent him a copy and told him I would send it to his daddy, grandfather, and the media. He was afraid of his dad. Nothing and I mean nothing was to taint the Vanderbilt name, or daddy would cut him off and he’d have nothing! It was right at that time that Sam moved here. She had bought a house and asked me to move in with her.” She explained.

“You’ve really been dealt a shit hand, haven’t you?” Jax asked.

“It’s in the past. Not all bad. I had 2 loving kind parents. Two best friends who would die for me, and now a man who loves me and protects me. Who treats me right. I’m blessed, in my opinion. I mean sure I’ve had to deal with a few shit deals, but they made me who I am.” Raine replied.

“And also, don’t forget, now you have a whole MC who will also protect you with their lives.” Jax reminded her.

“Jax, if his dad is dead, there’s nothing holding him back. And he won’t stop. He has resources too. I just don’t know how he found me. I’m really scared what he will do. I don’t want him to harm you or your club because of me.” Raine replied.

“The house and bills are in Sam’s name. She never went around Marty. He didn’t even know her last name. My phone is a burner I paid cash for. No bank account. No credit cards or any accounts listed in my name. And even still the only people I call are Sam and Kim, and you. I spent 3 blind years with him, and then the next 4 trying to get away from him. I won’t go back, no matter what I have to do. If that means running again, I will.” She warned.
