Chloe paused for a moment, caught off guard. Her eyes darkened as she put on an indifferent expression. "Did you need something from me, Claire?"

"Do you know why Pax agreed to tie the knot with the Nagel family?"

Chloe's hands balled into fists. "How can you be so ruthless?"

Claire chuckled, "My son is nothing like me; he wouldn't even dream of playing dirty told him to get you away from his uncle, but he was just concerned about your happiness.
