Chapter 1288
"Ah!"
Sydney's voice pierced the air, full of desperation: "Flora, I swear I'll make you pay!"
She'd completely lost it, eyes bloodshot and wild, her hands reaching out frantically to strangle Flora.
Flora glanced down at her like she was just an ant and casually kicked her, sending Sydney sprawling to the floor.
"How dare you!"
Sydney lay there like a defeated dog, clutching her stomach, convulsing, unable to move.
"Throw her out!" Flora said, her voice dripping with disdain, not wanting to waste another glance on her.
"Yes, ma'am." Amos nodded, grabbing Sydney by the collar and dragging her across the floor, leaving a shocking trail of blood in her wake.
Finally, the examination room fell silent.
Everyone's faces were tense.
Scott watched Flora for a good long while before finally taking a deep breath. He walked up to her and gave a polite bow. "Ms. Flora, I underestimated you. I'm sorry."All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
He had doubted Flora's abilities, but the prescription she provided was proof enough of her skill.
Honestly, even he couldn't have come up with something like that. Flora's medical talents were beyond his.
"I spoke out of turn earlier. Please forgive me, Ms. Flora. You've truly earned my respect."
He bowed again, this time a full ninety degrees, showing just how sincere he was.
"Please, stand up."
Flora's voice was calm.
She was never one to hold grudges, and since Scott hadn't really wronged her and was now apologizing, she was ready to move on.
"See? My sister's got way more class than you, old man!" Corbyn teased, reminding everyone who'd underestimated Flora just how wrong they were.
Scott straightened up, a bit sheepish. He had indeed underestimated Flora.
Luckily, Flora was gracious and didn't hold it against him.
"So, Ms. Flora, are we good now?" he asked carefully.
"Did we have a problem?" Flora shot him a look, making it clear she didn't give him much thought.
Scott chuckled awkwardly, realizing she was right. He'd been doing all the talking, and Flora hadn't even bothered with him!
"Oh, but―" Flora seemed to remember something and spoke up.
Scott tensed up!
But what?
"But what?"
"A ninety-degree bow is usually reserved for the deceased," Floraz said, her tone slightly mocking "I'm very much alive and plan on staying that way for many more years." en
Scott: "..."
He was just trying to show how sorry he was!
The other executives couldn't help but chuckle. Flora might seem icy, but she had a good sense of humor.
"Alright, then. Let's leave the past behind. No hard feelings, okay?" Scott said eagerly, wanting to get back to business. "Now, about that
Pom earlier. There were
a few parts I didn't quite get, like why you added angelica and schisandra berries, and then there wa
that
other bit..."
Scott was relentless once he got going, like he could talk Flora's ear off for days. Corbyn and the other executives crowded around too, eager for knowledge, their faces practically begging for answers. Flora shook her head, exasperated; these old guys were all the same.
"Hold up!"
She interrupted Scott. "Going over the prescription depends on my mood. Aren't we still in the middle of evaluations?"
Everyone deflated like popped balloons, looking a bit let down.
Flora turned to Corbyn, who was also looking a bit down, "If you want, I can explain it to you in detail later."
After all, Corbyn was in a league of his own.
