Chapter 13
Catch me first
TAMI…
Tami watched Myra rush away with a napkin pressed to her lips with one word playing in her head. bitch. She smiled sickly as she imagined her hands squeezing Myra’s neck and watching her choke played in her mind.
Sarah’s arm on her shoulder snapped her back to reality. She suppressed a scathing look in Sarah’s direction and smiled instead. Luckily Sarah was too focused on herself.
This was another woman she would enjoy bashing her head In. Her smile widened as another depraved Image filled her head. Sarah mistook her smile for encouragement.
“I just feel very underappreciated on this set. But that slut gets its all.” She whined.
“Oh Sarah, I’m so sorry you go through that, Like I told you already, you’re an excellent actress, I think you should have gotten the lead role even.”
“That’s what I’ve been saying! Why’s she so special with her ugly face, not that you have an ugly face, seeing as your faces are nearly identical.” She blushed at her blunder- “you are such a lady compared to us, coming from a prestigious family is indeed so different… You know, you might look alike but she can never match you in class or otherwise.” her voice lowered conspiratorially, “There’s a rumor about her and Pierce…so ridiculous. How could he be interested in such a peasant?”
Tami’s fist tightened around the cookie she was holding, grinding it to pieces out of Sarah’s eyeline. She rolled her eyes dramatically. “I know all about the rumors surrounding Pierce, if not for him assuring me of his loyalty every single day while I was overseas I would’ve been back sooner.”
“Awww,” she mouthed with a sweet face. “And to think Myra tried to take that away from you. She’s such a clown. I’m going to let people know about what a whore she is!”
Tami smiled. “That won’t be necessary, she’s not the only woman whose name has been in a Tabloid with Pierce.” She emptied the crumbs into an empty packet before waving her hand nonchalantly, “I don’t see her as much of a threat, unless…” she grab Sarah’s hand in hers, “unless you think she is…and I trust your judgment very much.”
Sarah beamed. “If you want my opinion, I would say Myra doesn’t compare to you in any way, but the woman has her ways. I hear she’s sleeping with the director to get this job.” Her face reddened at the lie. I have an idea! How about I keep an eye on her, make sure she’s not up to something funny…”
Tami smiled, pleased that her little minion had taken the bait. “That would be kind of you Sarah, and not just on her, just anyone in the studio, don’t be too quick to rule everyone out–you know how women caText property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
be.
“Anything for you sweetheart.” Sarah cooed.
think you and I are going to be fast friends…”
Myra’s POV
When Sarah came back, she had this weird smile on her face that sent shivers down my spine.
For the rest of our scenes I would catch her watching me with intensity. Of course whenever she caught
my
by eye she would blush and look away or act like I’m the one who had been staring like a creep.
I did not think I liked the idea of Sarah and Tami being friends. I had not even decided who I considered. to be the worst.
I had rinsed my mouth severally in the bathroom just to get rid of the taste of the cupcake. My nausea was a lot worse than I had thought. While I felt bad for Linda, my mind was mostly on Tami and praying she had not thought too deeply of my reaction.
“That’s a wrap for today. That should be all for a while.” The assistant director said into the megaphone.
“A few more shoots and gossip and dreams will be completed. how does it feel?” Adams asked, smiling.
Few weeks and I would be out of a job for a while. it would take a month before my joblessness began affecting my family. I needed to hop on a new project soon. “It feels like the end of the world.” I answered, summing up my problems.
“It always does.” Jace added, having returned from pursuit of Emily. I figured she had told him off, once again. “We’ll just enjoy the time we have left.” He made a kehk–kehk sound with his mouth and pointed finger guns in our direction. “I’m going to hang out with a better looking group.” He revealed, his eyes. glued on a circle of women a considerable distance away from us
“We’re going to have to tie a ball and chain to your legs to keep you in place, Jace.”
“You have to catch me first,” he responded over his shoulder, making me chuckle.
“I think the worst part of the movie reaching an end is not having to see you almost everyday.” Adams continued. “Maybe we can find another project together?”
If the studio God’s allow it.”
“Or maybe you could join me for lunch sometime, outside the studio. So we don’t have just the movie between us.”
I didn’t hate the idea. I was only worried that he might get the wrong message from it. “Yeah, lunch would be nice. As friends.”
An understanding glint sparkled in his eyes and he let out a snort. “Yes Myra, as friends”
“Excuse me.” Tami’s unmistakable voice called to someone nearby. I peered past Adams‘ bicep to get a better look. “…Yes Sarah, can you point me in her direction?” She continued, no doubt oblivious to my
presence
The actor she was speaking to, though awestruck, managed to point her in the direction of the last place I had seen Sarah. Her eyes still followed Tami in wonderment as she made her way across the studio. I could not blame him, It wasn’t everyday you met the mystery woman of Pierce Blackwood. I felt a bitter ache in my chest build up.
“Is that Tami?” Adams asked, his eyes following her retreating figure. “I wonder what she’s doing in the studio It might have something to do with her being the new ambassador for her family’s company. There’s only one way to find out.”
He tucked my arm into the crook of his elbow and tried to pull me along. When he noticed I had not
