Chapter 3176
Mr. Woods did not expect Hayden to be so direct, and he found himself momentarily caught off guard.
He had come to ask Hayden for money, but he had not thought about exactly how much he wanted. After all, Hayden's family was extremely wealthy, and he did not want to ask for too little and feel shortchanged, nor did he want to risk asking for too much and having Hayden refuse. It was a tough decision.
After a brief internal struggle, Mr. Woods turned to Hayden and said, "I know your family is one of the wealthiest in Aryadelle, so why don't you name the price? I trust you won't mistreat my son and our family." Hayden furrowed his brows slightly.
Shelly, noticing his hesitation, quickly chimed in, "Uncle, why don't you make an offer? We're not very familiar with this process. If you insist on us naming a price, we might need to consult my father-in-law." "Elliot Foster, you mean?" Mr. Woods asked.
Shelly nodded. "Yes. My father-in-law isn't as easygoing as my husband. After all, you wouldn't want your daughter to marry an ordinary man, right?"
Mr. Woods quickly agreed. "You're right. Let's discuss this then!"
"You can start thinking about it now. We won't leave for a couple of days," Shelly suggested.
"All right. Let's exchange contact information. We can stay in touch for future discussions."
He glanced at Hayden for approval and, when Hayden nodded, took out his phone to exchange contact details.
Meanwhile, in the hospital, Ivy was helping Lucas handle the aftermath of his mother's passing.
Lucas had already called the funeral home to have his mother's body removed from the hospital. "Are you planning a simple funeral?" Ivy asked.
"My mother didn't have many relatives," Lucas said.
"Shouldn't we choose a burial plot at the very least?"
"My mother wanted her ashes returned to her hometown and scattered in the lake."
Ivy was taken aback. "Are you really going to do as she wished?"
"I don't want to."
"Why don't we buy your mother a burial plot, then? That way, we can visit her in the future," Ivy suggested.
Lucas agreed, "Okay."
Night fell.
Hayden and Shelly were having dinner in the hotel's restaurant on the ground floor.
"Honey, Lucas' father asked you for 15 million. Are you really planning on giving it to him? That's no small amount," Shelly said.
"I won't pay him," Hayden said.
Shelly reminded, "Didn't you promise to pay back at Lucas' house, though?"
Hayden clarified, "I said I'd give him the money when Lucas and Ivy married. Their marriage is still a long
way off. Besides, Lucas wouldn't want his father to obtain thaDmuch money."
Shelly chuckled. "True. Considering how much Lucas hates his father, he might not be willing to give him so much money."Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
"But he's willing to give that much money to Ivy."
Shelly agreed, "We'll see how things go then. It's too early to draw any conclusions now."
"Agreed."
At the cemetery, Ivy and Lucas buried his mother's ashes next to his grandmother's grave so that it would be convenient to visit in the future.
By the time they returned to the city, it was ten at night.
They stood outside the hotel, and Lucas said to Ivy, "You should go home with your brother. Don't worry about me. I need some time to. handle things here. Once everything is settled, I'll go to Aryadelle to look for you." .
"But I want to stay with you," Ivy protested.

"I'll be fine. I've been mentally prepared since the doctor told me about my mother's late-stage cancer," he said.
"All right. You still want me to go with my brother, right?"
Lucas nodded. "Yes."
"Okay, then, I'll go back to my
country first. I'll be waiting for you to
come to Aryadelle and find me Ivy

Lucas reassured her, "I will."
