CIVIL WEDDING
A gentle pat on Samarra’s cheek jolted her awake, and she didn’t know she’d fallen asleep as Aunt Lucille applied makeup on her face.
Aunt Lucille’s smiling face appeared when she woke up. “You’re so beautiful, Samarra; you look just barbie,” Aunt Lucille said to her with pleasure.
Aunt Lucille’s eyes shone with joy. “Come to the other room. I have already chosen what you will wear.”
Aunt Lucille helped Samarra stand, and they went into another room where Aunt Lucille placed her clothes.
She will wear an off-white mermaid cut with a basic but lovely design. She just saw herself after she completed putting on the dress. Her no-makeup, clean-cut appearance complemented the outfits she wore.
“You like a living Barbie doll.” Aunt Lucille clapped her hand, clearly happy with what she witnessed. Then she noticed Aunt Lucille was also wearing an old rose cocktail gown.
“Come, and you will see the gorgeous groom has been waiting for you.” She led Aunt Lucille outside, and they walked together.
She noticed Zachary sitting on a single couch, covering his face with a magazine.
“Zacky,” Aunt Lucille softly called to the attention of Zachary, who was busy reading.
Zachary gradually lowered the magazine as he swallowed and blinked his eyes open. His face was amazement, as if he had come face to face with a living Barbie doll. He had no idea Samarra looked much better when she put on makeup.
As Zachary approached them, Samarra looked at him and smiled. Zachary was best matched in a dark blue tuxedo and brown men’s alligator shoes.
Zachary grabbed her elbow and escorted her out of the boutique, followed by Aunt Lucille.
They got into the car when Samarra noticed Zachary didn’t stop touching her arm.
Samarra was angry and kicked Zachary. Instead of walking away, Zachary gripped her waist even tighter and kissed her lips quickly.
She glared fiercely at Zachary and caught his gaze, noticing the mischievous smile on his lips. She gently pinched his hand. She heard a slight laugh from him, caressed her chin, and kissed her lip. She shut her gaze on him and tried to calm down as though he’d never stop kissing and touching her.
“What are you doing?” she asked, annoyed Zachary.
“Every slap, pinch and kick I receive from you will kiss you,” he said and winked at her.
She was annoyed to look at Zachary, but the mad man pulled her again and kissed his lip. She glared at him.
“I didn’t pinch and kick you,” Samarra complained angrily.
“Love, let’s pretend we’re in love,” he whispered. He even sniffed to point out the driver in front of them.
Pretend? She looked at Zachary carefully to see why he didn’t seem to be pretending or was just good at acting.
“Pretend? You what wants to pretend us, huh? Then get ready later because we will act,” Samarra thought.
“Love, what are you thinking?” he asked, kissing hair again.
She smiled sweetly and folded their hand. She saw Zachary stunned as if in disbelief. Shocks registered on Zachary’s face, so she smiled even more.
“Love, are you okay?” she asked, who was off guard again in her endearment.
“Oh, what are you now? You still pretend to know,” she said in her mind while looking at Zachary. Their gaze was interrupted when the driver in front of them spoke.
“Ma’am, sir. We are already here,” the driver informed.
Zachary got out of the car as quickly as he could. Go to the other door and open it for her. It was as if he had a smile painted on his face that never made it to his eyes.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
As soon as Samarra got out of the car, she felt Zachary pressing her hand. She knows that Zachary was warning her. She let her sigh and tried to calm down.
The Buenavista Hotel and Resort. This hotel beach resort is far from the city of San Carlos. As they walked toward the hotel, Samarra couldn’t help but be nervous. The staff immediately greeted them and guided them to the garden, where a garden wedding was set up. She didn’t know they could do such a beautiful wedding in a limited time.
Uncle Calvin and Aunt Lorraine greeted her while Zachary quickly kissed her on the lips and hurried to the front, where he would be waiting for her. Samarra looked around. She didn’t know the people there and looked around. She wants to see Ezekiel but seemed Ezekiel is not around.
“Let’s go, Samarra,” Uncle Calvin whispered to him.
She was forced to smile even though it was as if she wanted to cry at those moments.
It was a civil wedding, but it looked more elegant than she expected. She thought she would face the judge and then sign the marriage contract. There are also many people she hardly knows. Perhaps close friends and relatives of Buenavista were there.
Samarra bit her lip and smiled as she walked towards the front where Zachary was waiting for her. She couldn’t feel her foot as she stepped closer to him.
“Wear your sweetest smile,” Zachary whispered to her. He grabbed a handkerchief and handed it to her.
Astonishment was written on her face as if Zachary had predicted her surprise. So he wiped away her tears.
Tears? She knows her tears, which she held back, are already dripping. That’s why Zachary squeezed her and gave her a warning look.
During the whole ceremony, she didn’t seem to understand anything as long as she just heard applause, and Zachary guided her so that they could face each other.
She smiled like she didn’t have joy in her eyes, so she was forced to smile when Zachary finished kissing her on the lips.
They turn to face the people. She swallowed and saw Ezekiel just staring at them. As if there were so many needles pinching in her heart.
“Welcome to our family,” Aunt Lorraine said with a smile as she parted from her embrace. Uncle Calvin also hugged her and welcomed her.
She just stared at what was happening; even in the picture, Ezekiel did not approach them as if he preferred to talk to the women there. It doesn’t speak to her either.
“What’s wrong?” Zachary whispered to him when he hooked her hand on his arm.
“I can’t breathe properly,” she whispered.
“W-what happened? Wait, let’s sit down first.”
Confused, he was helped to sit in a chair near
them.
“Stay here. I’ll get the car ready.” He said and hurried away.
“Samarra!” She looked at her back. She saw Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Calvin walking toward her.
She was forced to stand even though she was still dizzy. “Yes, Aunt-”
Uncle Calvin tapped her on the shoulder. “It’s Mom and Dad,” she reminded her.
Samarra smiled. “Yes, Uncle-I mean Dad?”
“Let’s just wait for Zachary,” Mommy Lorraine said.
“Oh, Zachary is already here,” Daddy Calvin said when Zachary approached their place.
“Mom, what is that?” Zachary asked.
Zachary looked at them both at the envelope handed to them.
“Open it,” Daddy Calvin commanded them with a smile. It contains a key. Zachary was picked up and lifted into the air.
“What’s this for Mom?” Zachary asked as he twisted the key.
“That will be the key to your house, and go straight there.” Daddy Calvin smiled and even patted Zachary on the shoulder.
Home? They have a house right away. That means she and Zachary are living together in the same place.
“Mang Dado knows where to take you. Samarra, rest well. Huh! Zach said you were dizzy earlier,” Mommy Lorraine said.
She just nodded at what Mommy Lorraine said because she hadn’t sunk into her mind until now. Mommy Lorraine and Daddy Calvin noted a lot more, but she didn’t hear much and let Zachary talk to his parents.
She glared at Zachary and pulled the hand he kissed.
“What’s that for?” Zachary asked her in surprise when she saw that she had wiped her hand.
She raised an eyebrow but did not respond to Zachary’s question. She stayed silent while thinking about what Zachary had said to his parents. Zachary was hesitant to have a stay-in housemaid in their home.
A large gate opened when Zachary pressed its minuscule remote-control handle. Two-story contemporary house in white. There is an expansive lawn and bermudagrass well-detailed exterior.
As soon as Samarra came down, she was about to go straight in when Zach suddenly picked her bridal style.
“This is how it should be before entering the house,” Zachary whispered when he saw the shock and astonishment on her face.
She wishes to protest what he says because she believes that the one who does so is the one who truly loves.
“Put me down,” she said as she slapped Zachary’s arm.
Samarra would be happy if Zachary genuinely loved her, but Zachary did this to pretend.
“If you keep fighting, we’ll fall. So, behave.”
She held her breath and wrapped her arms around Zachary’s neck until they reached the main bedroom.
She was slowly lowered onto the bed, and he quickly averted his gaze from her.
“No one will move the room,” Zachary said quickly.
She was offended by what he said. She was planning to say that they should sleep separately. First, she was not used to having someone next to the bed. Second, she was naked to sleep. Third, she wanted a lot of pillows around her. And four more. She didn’t want to repeat what almost happened to them.
“Will you get dressed first? Oh, wait. Can you take that off? I’m willing to help you. I’ve seen that before. “Zachary smiled foolishly at her as he stepped closer.
She could no longer protest when Zachary went behind her and unzipped her dress.
At the same time, as she opened her eyes, her clothes fell to the floor. Samarra could see Zachary’s gaze staring at her body. Her eyebrows rose. Wow! His eyes feist her body.
“Hey, your eyes.” She glared at him.
Zachary just laughed back at her and quickly turned away. “Wife, after you get dressed, rest first.” He said and went out of their room.
She glared at Zachary as she exited the room and closed the door.
