Chapter 18
I Will Kiss You
Early the next morning, a ray of sunlight shone into the bedroom of the Pineview Villa.
The sound of the alarm awakened Harper. She stretched but touched a warm body. She was stunned and suddenly opened her eyes.
What came into view was Benjamin's handsome face. He was not awake yet. Harper was leaning against his chest, and Benjamin's hand was on her waist.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Harper was stunned. Before she could react, Benjamin smiled and said in a hoarse voice, "You are awake."
"You... Why haven't you gotten up yet?" Harper asked.
"You were sleeping soundly just now. I couldn't bear to wake you up."
Harper didn't believe it. "You... are talking nonsense!"
"You hugged me so tightly that I couldn't pull your hand away." Benjamin stared at Harper in his arms. His warm breath blew on her face, making her face rosier. The atmosphere became ambiguous. Benjamin's lips became meaningful. He said in a hoarse and low voice, "You slept with me, and you now want to kick me away, huh?"
"What nonsense are you talking about? Let me go." Harper pushed Benjamin hard, but he didn't move at all.
Instead, her behavior made Benjamin hug her tighter.
Harper stared at him and pressed her lips at a loss.
She didn't know that she looked like a frightened kitten at that moment. Her delicate and cute look would only tempt Benjamin.
Benjamin suddenly thought of something.
He frowned and said in a low voice, "Harper, don't casually start a relationship after divorce and believe their sweet words. They have ulterior motives."
Harper was stunned for a moment and said nothing.
Benjamin was serious. "Harper, promise me you will do it."
"What if I can't do it?" Harper asked.
"You must do it. I'm serious."
Harper thought it was a bit ridiculous. "Benjamin, if an employee of your company resigns, do you still want to intervene in his or her next job?"
"That's different."
Harper frowned. "What's the difference? It's just a metaphor, but the nature is the same."
"I'm not discussing it with you now, Harper. I'm asking you to do it," Benjamin said seriously.
"So what? No." Harper was indifferent.
"Dare you say it again?" Benjamin seemed angry, and his expression changed.
Harper's stubbornness was also aroused. She looked up at him and ignored the distance between her and Benjamin, which was only one finger away. She said, "Do you still want to hit me if I say it?" Benjamin lowered his head and squinted at her red lips, saying meaningfully, "If you don't agree, I will kiss you."
Harper was stunned.
She thought, "Does he know what he's talking about? He expressed this meaning so clearly and directly for the first time."
Harper felt uncomfortable, but she was still in Benjamin's arms. She dared not move if he didn't let her go.
She said a little uneasily, "You can't do this."
"Why? We are still a couple, and it is natural to do this." Benjamin still stared at Harper. "If you really don't want me to kiss you, you can agree to my requirement. But you refused it. Did it mean that you actually wanted my kiss?"
"Don't get me wrong." Harper shook her head.
"Oh, really? Then why didn't you agree to my requirement?"
Harper said, "That's my business. If we're divorced, why should I do what you say?"
Benjamin looked at her. "I'm doing this for your own good."
"But I don't need it," Harper snorted.
Benjamin didn't know what Harper really wanted. He just thought it was for her good, but she didn't need it at all.
Benjamin kept his word and turned to lean over her.
Harper tried to push him away, but it was useless. Benjamin said, "Harper, the more you resist, the more excited I become."
She felt helpless. "What on earth do you want to do?"
The next second, Benjamin lowered his head and got closer to her. The tips of their noses touched, and Harper felt the warm hand caressing her waist...
