KING MICAH: World Beyond The Ruins

Chapter 8

Later that evening, Davina came to i and Micah’s room and then applied some strange substance on his chest and also gave him some portion to take and apply on his chest for his journey.

We’re currently standing outside the castle. Micah’s hand was holding mine as well watched his men gather around. When they were completed, he faced me and pressed a kiss on my head.

“I’ll be back soon” he promised, giving my hand a light squeeze before letting go. He walked towards his men who were facing him and they took off their clothes.

It is known that the beasts do not care about their nudity but I still can’t my gaze to the ground but when I looked back up, everyone were watching so I took it as a normal thing.

The deafening sound of men grunting and bones snapping in and out of places made me wince. God, that would hurt like a fuker.

Soon, the sound of bones breaking and reforming stopped and I watched in fascination as their legs turned into limbs, fingers turning into paws and their faces lengthen and a snot formed on their face.

Even the smallest wolf among them was half my height and the largest being Micah was taller than me.

My eyes were still on Micah’s white beast and when he raised his head to look at me, I was met with a glowing golden eyes.

He released a howl and the gates were pushed open. They all ran and I watched till their beasts were no longer visible as they entered the forest.

I had wondered why they didn’t take a car or a horse but Micah explained that a car couldn’t reach the high mountains and a horse would only slow them down.

A heavy sigh fell from my lips and I turned around, walked through the halls and climbed up the stairs to the King’s wing.

When I got to the room, I flopped down on the couch with my face pressing lazily on it. I stared at nothing and everything for what felt like hours before a knock sounded on the door and it opened.

I turned my face down to look at who it was and my breath hitched when she strolled in.

I blinked a couple of times and took in a deep breath when my heart started running a marathon in my chest.

I made a promise. A promise to try and I am going to do just that. Try.

A tray filled with food was placed on the coffee table and my mouth water at the sight and smell of the delicious food.

I have never seen or tasted such a food but if I could tell it was spaghetti. Dad use to describe different kinds of food to me, ones we never had the previlage of tasting in the ruins.

My stomach growled at the thought of of glorious it would taste and I instantly drew the food closer to me. I took a spoon full and shoved it in my mouth not minding it was hot.

I moaned with my eyes closed when it’s deliciousness assaulted my taste bud. When I opened my eyes, Fallon was staring at me.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

I swallowed and shift uncomfortably in my seat. “Join me?” I asked her but she shook her head and I rolled my eyes.

I pat the seat next to me but she sat on the floor like she did the first time I met her. I gave her my fork and she rolled the spaghetti on it and puts it in her mouth.

“Hmm” Her eyes closed as she chewed and when she opened her eyes, she gave me a grin. “So this is how spaghetti tastes like” She whispered giving me a I was shocked.

“You’ve never had spaghetti?” I asked and she shook her head.

I had assumed that since she lived in the castle she would have at least tasted half of what I haven’t but I guess I was wrong.

“Only the Beasts are allowed to have such food” She pout and sighed before taking another another bite.

“Now, don’t finish everything” I chuckled and she blushed and when she looked at me with those big blue eyes, I blushed.

We ate in silence, both sharing a spoon and a few secret glances before the plate was cleared and she took it out.

I laid on the white sheets of the bed and looked up at the ceiling. My mind was racing with things.

What if Micah doesn’t make it?

What if the Dragon king doesn’t give him his blood?

What if I fall for Fallon before he gets back?

I sighed and turned on my back, pulling the sheet up to my chest and turned off the lamp. Soon my eyes closed and I was lured into sleep.

That night, I had a dream….

I pant and gasped as I ran through the dark forest. Tears were streaming down my face but the cold wind dried it up before it could rolled down my chin.

I was being chased, chased my and unknown person who had a dagger in her hand.

My red hair whipped at my back. When I turned my head to see if I was still being chased at, a red snake tied itself around my leg and my eyes widen before I closed them back as I fell.

It felt like I was rolling down a hill and I could not stop. I brace myself for the pain i would feel if something… Maybe a rock or a tress broke my fall but when I opened my eyes, I saw a pitch black pit.

I fell in the hole, twigs cutting my skin open. I looked up and the moon was my own source of light.

A figure stood above me and I choked on my cry. The person had a red snake wrapped around her neck.

I shook my head from side to side and begged “Please don’t hurt me”

My pleas fell on deaf ears and when she raised the dagger up to strike me, she only said two words. “Die halfbreed”

She threw the dagger at me but before I could pierce my skin, my eyes opened to the darkness around me.
