Chapter 26
Wilbur scoffed coldly and kicked Stanley in the chest.
Stanley spat out a mouthful of blood as he was sent flying, landing heavily on the ground and falling unconscious.
After that, Wilbur came up to Lightning Hank. “You teamed up to kidnap Faye and wanted to teach me a lesson, right?”
“That was all Stanley’s idea! I was only doing it for the money! You and I have no beef with each other,” Lighting Hank pleaded. He had lost all his cockiness as well.
you are.
Wilbur lifted him up by the collar and leaned close to the man’s face, warning. “I don’t care who you are. Don’t touch anyone around me. Mess with them, and you’ll have to pay the price.”
Before Lightning Hank could give a response, Wilbur gave him a punch on his stomach right as Wilbur released him.
Lightning Hank let out an anguished cry, curling up on the ground as he coughed up blood. There seemed to be traces of his intestines mixed in the blood.
It was clear that he was not going to live.
Gordon saw all of that from the very start but did not say anything.
After Wilbur was done, Gordon shouted, “Take them all away, and hand them over to relevant authorities.”
A nearly dead Lightning Hank, a heavily injured Stanley, and the rest of the men were hauled out, shoved into trucks, and sent to where they were supposed to go.
Gordon walked up to Wilbur and said, ‘Sorry for spooking you, sir.”
“It’s fine. I was planning to take care of it myself, but you came instead. I have to thank you for that.
Wilbur totally had the strength to take everyone there out all while protecting Faye.
But if he were to do that, the aftermath would be rather difficult to clean up.
That was why Wilbur had agreed to let Gordon help out, saving him a lot of trouble.
Gordon said at once, “It’s no big deal. My father’s still waiting to have a drink with you, Sir. Do you have any time after this?”
Wilbur glanced at Faye, saying, “Let’s go back first. We’ll decide after that.”
Gordon nodded, and the three of them went back to Castlebury.
Helping Faye into the living room, Wilbur poured her a cup of coffee. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine. I’m just a little spooked.” Faye leaned against the sofa shakily, clearly still rattled by the incident. Her legs were spread open, and her fair legs were incredibly alluring.
The light, along with Faye’s meek expression, challenged Wilbur’s mental endurance by the second.
Wilbur looked away with a frown. “Shouldn’t someone of your status have a bodyguard?”
Faye said in a small voice, “I used to have one. My driver was my bodyguard. I didn’t let him follow me recently.”
Wilbur could tell that she was trying to push the duty onto him! Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
He flashed a bitter smile and uttered, “You should have him follow you in the futur
trouble.”
to avoid getting into
Faye nodded quietly. Wilbur fetched a blanket and draped it over Faye’s legs, covering up her smooth thighs. “Stay here tonight. I’ll keep you company.”
“Thank you, Boss.” Faye’s panicked gaze seemed to flash slyly for a second.
Just then, the doorbell rang. Wilbur frowned before answering the door.
“Who are you?” Wilbur stared at the man in front of him. He looked to be in his thirties and was clad in a suit.
The man smiled lightly. “My last name is Owens, and my name’s lan, lan Owens.”
“Is something the matter?” Wilbur frowned slightly.
lan nodded. “Yes, and it’s a pretty serious matter.”
