Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 822: You Have Quite the Eye

Vivienne's face darkened with dissatisfaction. "What's Victor's is mine. We're husband and wife. Don't tell me I don't even have the right to use his personal bodyguards?" Johnson hesitated before responding bluntly, "Actually, you don't."

While the truth was harsh, he chose not to elaborate, instead offering a polite but troubled expression. "Madam, those are the master's instructions. If you'd like, you can call him directly. If he agrees, I'll arrange it for you immediately." "Mom," Kelly interjected, stomping her foot in frustration. They'd just managed to locate Jared; giving up now wasn't an option. If her father found out, everything would be ruined.

Vivienne patted her daughter's hand, signaling her to stay calm. Her gaze casually swept over Woods. "He's not one of Victor's personal bodyguards, is he? Let's take him with us, along with a few others of his caliber." "You have quite the eye."

Ella Bailey's voice suddenly cut through the air, drawing everyone's attention.

Woods immediately stepped back, positioning himself behind Ella Bailey with swift movements. "Apologies, Miss Walker," he said firmly. "I am Miss Ella's bodyguard. Without her permission, I cannot accompany you."

Ella Bailey seemed pleased with Woods' quick judgment. Crossing her arms, she stepped forward. "Did you hear that, Miss Walker? For someone your age, it's surprising you still don't understand your place."

"In this family, my father holds the highest authority. After him, it's me. And my bodyguard? You dare touch what's mine? Looks like you don't want to stay in the Bailey family anymore!"

Behind her, Luke Gill's brow twitched slightly. He glanced at Ella Bailey, who appeared to be in a good mood, then shifted his gaze to the silent Woods standing behind her. His dark eyes flickered briefly before settling into calm indifference. Vivienne, on the other hand, was trembling with rage at Ella Bailey's words. Yet, with Johnson present, she had to maintain her usual facade. Forcing a graceful smile, she said, "Ella, there's no need to be so harsh. I didn't realize-thought he was just one of the regular bodyguards."

Ella Bailey scoffed. "Then your eyesight must be truly terrible."

"Ella, how can you speak to Mom like that?!" Kelly protested indignantly. "We're all family. What's the big deal about borrowing your bodyguard for a bit?"

Ella Bailey shook her head, unimpressed. "Family? Don't lump me in with you. Stop flattering yourselves-it's disgusting. And at this hour, no less."

"I don't want anything to ruin my meeting with Tina today."

Her muttered words made Kelly's eyes light up.

Vivienne and Kelly exchanged a glance. The discontent in Kelly's expression vanished instantly, and even Vivienne shed her pitiful demeanor.

Vivienne leaned closer to Ella Bailey with a warm smile. "Ella, you're meeting Tina? I've heard she's not easy to deal with. Why not take your sister along? If anything comes up, she can help." "Help? Help me with what?"

Ella Bailey's gaze swept over Kelly's slim, stick-like legs. "Help me take a few punches if a fight breaks out?"

At those words, Kelly instinctively drew her hand back before it could touch Ella Bailey's arm. "Ella, you're meeting Miss Reed, not going to fight. Don't joke like that."

"I am meeting her for a fight," Ella Bailey replied matter-of-factly.

Johnson, who had been quietly enjoying the show, suddenly choked on his drink at her words. He coughed violently. "Miss Ella, you-you're meeting her to fight?"

"Why are you so worked up?" Ella Bailey shot him a glance, her elbow gesturing toward Luke Gill. "Court's tomorrow. I'm going to see if Tina is willing to show some leniency. If things don't work out, well, a fight's inevitable. After all, some people would rather not go to jail, right?"

Luke Gill's expression remained calm, his lips maintaining a faint smile. "Ella, I appreciate your efforts on my behalf. It must be exhausting for you."Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Ella Bailey shuddered in disgust. "Ugh, gross. I'm getting chills just hearing you talk."

Woods, standing silently behind her, thought to himself, Miss Ella would probably love to see Luke Gill locked up.

Johnson, however, was thoroughly alarmed. "Miss Ella, please don't frighten me like that! We just met with Tina, and you know her fiancé, Mr. Farrell, is no pushover either."

Ella Bailey tilted her head, intrigued. "Oh? You've met her?"

Johnson nodded. Figuring she'd learn the details from Woods eventually, he decided to share. "The master took us to negotiate with Miss Reed earlier. It didn't go well, and Mr. Farrell barged in."

"So Tina and Jared are together right now?!" Kelly exclaimed excitedly. This time, she didn't hesitate to grab Ella Bailey's hand. "Ella, take me with you! You heard Johnson-if we go together, we can watch each other's backs." Who wants to watch your back?

Ella Bailey's body stiffened as her instincts screamed at her to push Kelly away. She did, albeit with a gentler touch than usual. "You really want to go?"

Kelly nodded eagerly. "I do!"

Perfect. Ella Bailey's mind raced. If this little pest tagged along and managed to annoy Tina, there'd be no negotiating Luke Gill's case. He'd be taken away without a hitch.

And with Kelly's non-existent combat skills, there was no risk of her ruining the plan.

Ella Bailey stroked her chin thoughtfully, ignoring Luke Gill's silent but obvious disapproval. Acting as though she hadn't noticed, she said, "Fine, you can come. Johnson, have the butler prepare another car. I'm not riding with her."

On the third floor of the hotel, the restaurant was filled with the elegant sound of violins.

The spacious banquet hall, cleared for privacy, housed a twenty-seat round table sparsely occupied by Tina and a few others.

Hayden and Nathan sat close together, their gazes scanning the five people seated across from them.

They exchanged silent, bewildered looks.

Nathan: "Didn't you say Kelly was all over you? Why does it look like she's into Mr. Farrell today?"

Hayden: "How should I know what that woman is thinking?! As long as she's not clinging to me, I'm happy."

Still, he couldn't help but wonder. This was supposed to be a private meeting between Mr. Farrell and Luke Gill. Why had Tina invited the rest of them? Were they just here for the free food?

"Miss Reed, wasn't this supposed to be a private meeting? What's the meaning of this?"

Luke Gill clearly wasn't pleased. He glanced at Nathan and Hayden, a hint of accusation in his tone.

Tina, focused on her meal, didn't bother looking up. Her peripheral vision caught sight of someone inching closer to Jared. "You don't seem to be treating this as a private meeting either."
