Chapter 10
Seven days later…
A flight from overseas touched down at Talondria International Airport.
A group emerged from the terminal, but their path to the exit was swiftly blocked by the swarm of media already gathered outside. Dominick instinctively furrowed his brows. Before he could speak, Jessica’s cry caught his attention Turning around, he saw Jessica being jostled and falling towards him.
Dominick quickly stepped forward, pulling Jessica into his arms as a flurry of camera flashes went off.
“Mr. Sinclair, you and Ms. Moore are so close. Are you two planning to get married?”
“Rumor has it your families are arranging a marriage. Is there any truth to that?”
“Ms. Moore is rumored to marry you soon. However, we’ve heard you’re already married. Have you separated from your current wife. Mr. Sinclair?”
Dominick’s expression turned sour at the mention of Lola, his brow furrowing in displeasure. He signaled to his assistants, Henry Roberts and Anna Brooks, who were following them. Henry immediately stepped forward to escort them away, while Anna stayed behind, smiling at the media. She began to speak slowly and calmly.
“Mr. Sinclair’s trip abroad was strictly for business. The rumors circulating in the media are completely nonsense.” Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
After speaking, Anna nodded politely to everyone before departing in her high heels.
Outside the airport, Dominick first assisted Jessica into the car, and then turned to Henry. “You take Jessie home first.”
“Understood!”
Sitting in the car, Jessica was initially startled to hear Dominick’s words. She was about to say something, but then, recalling something, her lips curled into a sweet, tender smile.
“Dominick, I’ll go back first. Thanks for everything this time. I don’t know why the media would write such things. Lola might have gotten the wrong idea. You should hurry back and check on her.”
Usually, when Lola was mentioned. Dominick would remain silent. However, he nodded this time, looking at the smartphone he was clutching in his hand.
Ever since Lola made a call to him seven days ago using an unknown number, claiming she was abducted, she hadn’t called him again. Last time was the same. She said she was abducted and asked him to come for her, but what she didn’t know was that before her call, he had already phoned Sinclair Manor.
“Mr. Sinclair, we are going back to the company now.” Anna and the others stepped forward.
Dominick simply nodded, instructing. “Finalize that contract quickly. We can’t risk any slip–ups with this collaboration.”
“Understood!”
Anna and the others nodded and then left in their car.
Dominick took another glance at his phone, and then, with a hint of irritation, tossed it onto the passenger seat and drove back to Sinclair Manor.
He drove directly into the garage. He then headed to the main house first. As Frank had taken Samantha to visit her

old friend, Quentin was out on business, and Laura was at a friend’s party, the vast manor was very quiet, attended only by a few housekeepers.
“Where’s Lola?” Dominick asked.
The others exchanged glances and shook their heads, indicating they didn’t know.
Dominick didn’t dwell on it, understanding that everyone at Sinclair Manor saw Lola as the culprit in Jessica’s
miscarriage. It was normal for them not to know her whereal. We also anticipated that Lola wouldn’t want
in the main house, guessing she might have returned to school.
“What about Brenda?” Dominick inquired again.

Brenda Green was the housekeeper in charge of everything in Serenity Haven. Dominick had previously been in contact with her to check on Lola’s situation.
“Brenda’s daughter–in–law had a baby, so she resigned to take care of her grandchild.”
Dominick nodded in acknowledgment, then returned to Serenity Haven.
He pushed open the bedroom door, and the room was eerily quiet as if it had been unoccupied for a long time. Dominick glanced around but didn’t see Lola. His eyes darkened, and he walked into the bathroom for a shower, then wrapped a towel around himself and went to the wardrobe to retrieve a robe. As he stepped out, Dominick paused.
He felt like something was missing in the wardrobe, but couldn’t quite recall what it was.
It wasn’t until Dominick saw the divorce agreement in the corner of the bed that he was jolted. The document was in the same state as he had left it a few days ago, seemingly untouched. If Lola had returned to stay over these days, the divorce agreement wouldn’t have remained in its original state.
At that moment, Dominick realized what was missing from the wardrobe – Lola’s suitcase.
Dominick clutched the divorce agreement tightly, his expression turning grave. He hesitated, then dialed Lola’s number, only to find her phone was turned off. He then tried the number Lola had used seven days ago to call and say she was abducted, but it was unreachable.
Tossing his phone onto the bed, Dominick walked into the bathroom.
Outside, a thunderclap shattered the night sky, illuminating the room as bright as day.
“Dom, believe me, I didn’t push her!
“Dom, my stomach hurts so much, the baby… The baby can kick now. It’s our child. Please, I’m begging you, save the baby.
“Dom, I’ve been abducted. Can you come to get me?
“Dominick, I regret it!”
Rain drummed against the window in a steady rhythm. Dominick bolted upright from his dream, his hand reaching out to the empty space beside him. The absence in his bed weighed down his heart as if it were being slowly drained of something essential,
He rose, opening the balcony door to face the relentless downpour. Wesley’s words echoed in his mind.
“Dominick, we’ve all seen your years of love for Jessica. You stepped aside because of your brother’s feelings, but love is always selfish. Now that Landon is gone, let everything reset to the beginning.

“You know, before Landon died, he handed Jessica’s care over to you, like a wish granted. Why must you…”
Dominick could have just taken one step forward, and everything would have returned to the starting point, but at this moment, he didn’t seem to want to take that step forward, as if he was weary or perhaps just tired.
“Mr. Sinclair
Anna opened the door, glanced at the slightly haggard man, and hesitated before speaking.
“The police are here. They say there’s news about your wife.”
Dominick’s eyes suddenly turned cold as he heard this, and he looked up indifferently.
Two policemen approached. Seeing the man sitting behind the desk, they hesitated for a moment about whether to speak. Finally, the older one stepped forward, carefully taking out a USB drive from his briefcase and handing it over. “Mr. Sinclair, this was sent anonymously to the police station. It might help with finding your wife!”
Dominick’s gaze remained indifferent as it fell on the USB, but he made no move to take it.
Unable to stand by any longer, Anna stepped forward, took the drive, and, seeing Dominick didn’t stop her, inserted it into the computer’s USB port.
