Love’s Final Reveal

Chapter 5

“Why are you crying?”

A young Dominick, wearing a checkered suit, black leather shoes, and a bow tie, stood like a royal. His handsome and cool face was devoid of emotion, carrying an air of mature authority beyond his years.

At that time, when Lola was slapped by her foster father, it was extremely comforting to see someone offering her an umbrella. She was fifteen that year, and it was also the year Brittany had just returned to the Mitchell family. That day, Brittany had torn up the artwork Lola intended to submit for a competition, and Lola pushed her when she found out about this. That was why her foster father slapped her. She ran out of the house in the rain and took shelter under an osmanthus tree.

It was then that Dominick appeared, shining like a beacon of light in her world.

Afterward, she followed this light, getting to know Jessica and Landon, who adored Jessica immensely. Jessica was three years older than her and two years younger than Dominick, and Landon was Dominick’s half–brother, two years older than Dominick. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Back then, everyone knew that Jessica and Landon were a couple. The Sinclairs had already declared that Jessica had to be Landon’s wife in the future, and they were seen as a perfect match.

Back then, Dominick would occasionally look at Jessica.

At that time, Lola didn’t understand..

Now Lola knew what was going on. Dominick had always been captivated by Jessica, and she was merely his shield. Not long after Jessica and Landon’s wedding, Dominick proposed to Lola. She said yes, believing that he loved her.

Now, she realized that he never fell for her.

He married her just to ease his brother’s worry, so he could blatantly set his eyes on his Jessica without being judged. She was nothing but a pawn, a disguise for the desires he kept hidden.

After Landon’s death in a car accident and the loss of Jessica’s child, all obstacles suddenly vanished. Dominick’s secret, hidden deep within, could finally bask in the sunlight. But Lola, the tool, was cast aside like trash.

Sinclair Manor was vast.

At the front was a garden gazebo and a pool courtyard, and at the back stood a three–story classical villa, home to Dominick’s grandparents, Frank Sinclair and Samantha Sinclair, Dominick’s father, Quentin Sinclair, and stepmother Laura Sinclair. On the east and west sides of the house were two separate courtyards, with Landon living in the east and Dominick in the west, Serenity Haven.

As Lola stepped into the villa, she caught the eye of several servants tending the garden flowers. Their distant glares, filled with disgust and hatred, didn’t escape her notice.

Lola gave a bitter smile.

It had to be said that Jessica was very adept at winning people over and acting the part. In these past three months, she had been extremely careful with the child in her belly, eating nutritious meals, listening to soothing music for the baby, drinking plain water, forsaking makeup, and even

giving up manicures. On the surface, her sacrifices were all for the sake of preserving Landon’s last blood.

Because of this, no one would believe that Jessica had intentionally fallen down the stairs to lose the child. Lola bypassed Sinclair Manor, heading straight to her own quarters, a space devoid of warmth and vitality.

Instinctively, she knew Dominick wasn’t there. Walking up the stairs, she pushed open her bedroom door to find their wedding picture on the bed, romantic yet distant, sweet but aloof.

After taking a bath and redressing the wound on her arm, Lola donned a grey tracksuit and pulled out a suitcase to pack her belongings.

During her year of marriage to Dominick, she didn’t have many belongings. Besides the few clothes she brought from her own family, she mainly had the books she often read. She left behind the designer clothes, bags, jewelry, and shoes Dominick had bought for her. Her stuff didn’t even fill the suitcase.

Once packed, Lola went to the study and printed two copies of the divorce agreement. She was divorcing with nothing but herself.

Just as she was about to sign, her pen was halted in mid–air. A decade of chasing dreams, a year in wedlock, yet the light that once illuminated her life had now extinguished in that bloodstained rain and lost in the dust…

She had just set the agreement on the bedside table when the bedroom door swung open.

Dominick looked utterly exhausted as he walked in. Seeing Lola standing in the bedroom didn’t seem to surprise him at all. He glanced at her indifferently and headed towards the bathroom. Just as he was about to reach the bathroom door, he suddenly remembered something and paused, turning back to look at the woman sitting on the bed.

“Weren’t you abducted?”

Yes, she had been abducted!

Lola sneered, looking at Dominick.

The whole thing was somewhat tragic yet laughable.

As she faced public scorn and collapsed on the ground, it was her own husband who pushed her down, causing her to lose their child. Then, she was abducted when she was abandoned in the hospital.

While she lay feverish and unconscious, her husband was staying with another woman, buying medicine and applying fever patches for her. It was her captor who tended to her wounds. As thunder roared and she tried to hurt herself, her captor was the one who took away the glass from her grasp and vigilantly stood guard by her side.

Seeing Lola smile, Dominick swept a cold glance at her before heading to the bathroom.

A tear, long buried in the depths of her heart, finally escaped, trickling down her cheek. Lola reached up, quietly wiping it away.

When Dominick wrapped in a towel came out of the bathroom, Lola was tending to the flowers on the balcony. The sunlight cast a faint glow on her, making her seem unreal. But Dominick just glanced at her briefly before stepping into the walk–in closet.

Seeing the suitcase in the closet, Dominick paused briefly. He put on a suit and walked out, his eyes landing on the paper on the bedside table. Instinctively, he approached and frowned deeply as the words “Divorce Agreement” came into view.

Lola walked in from the balcony. When she was about to bring up the matter of divorce, Dominick’s voice, cool and distant, echoed in the room.

“Jessie’s emotionally fragile. You take care of her!”

“What did you say?” Lola looked up, thinking she had heard wrong.

Two divorce papers were thrown onto the bed. Dominick coldly glanced at the woman not far away and spoke

indifferently

Jessar kost the baby because of you. Go to the hospital, take care of her. It’s your responsibility

“New”

Lala instinctively eepped back, her complexion growing paler by the moment, eyes filled with defiance and rejection.

Ever since her child was taken from her body, she didn’t want to explain anymore When she realized that everything was just deceit and exploitation, all explanations seemed pale and powerless. It was pointless to explain. No one would believe hes, and her child was not coming back. The light in her world had been extinguished

“It’s not sip to you

Dominu voice was cold. He then strode over, grabbed Lola’s wrist, and dragged her towards the door
