Chapter 3331 The Crown Prince's Mischief
When Matthew's cold voice rang out, Errol nodded quickly. After a brief pause, he hesitantly asked, "Mr. Summit Warden, should we still keep Willow Alley on lockdown?"
"Just leave a few guys to monitor it, but pull everyone else back," Matthew ordered, walking out of the office without another word.
As he strolled down the hall, he thought about the kids in the training room upstairs. It had been a few days, and he wondered how they were doing. Are they eating well? Are they making any progress? Curiosity piqued, and Matthew headed for the training room. A chorus of young voices floated out when he cracked open the door.
He stepped inside just enough to see the kids standing straight, reciting, "Integrity comes before skill; if you lack integrity, you shouldn't be taught. We bring peace to the nation with knowledge and skill; we can..." Their earnest voices brought a rare smile to Matthew's face. These kids aren't just the nation's future-they are the Martial League's future.
Not wanting to interrupt the lesson, Matthew gently backed out and returned to the hotel where he stayed.
When he opened the door, he first saw Caleb standing there respectfully with a glass of water. "Welcome back, Matthew!"
Matthew's eyes drifted over to the crown prince lounging in the corner, flashing a smug smile as if to say, Look at how well I've trained him, huh?
Taking the water from Caleb, Matthew let out a quiet sigh. What the hell did the crown prince do to turn this rebellious kid into such a respectful little soldier in just a few days?
"Mr. Larson, you're back!" Cole
rushed in from the other room, his face lighting up with pure joy. Aside from his mom, Matthew was the person he cared for most. Matthew had changed his life by letting him practice combat skills, and Cole felt genuinely grateful.
Matthew crouched down to ruffle Cole's hair and asked, "So, what's the crown prince been teaching you while I was gone?"
"The crown prince taught me how
to... uh... how to get girls to-" Before Cole could finish, the crown prince's face went pale. In a panic, he
clamped a hand over Cole's mouth.
Matthew raised an eyebrow, staring at the prince. "What's with the sweat, Prince? I've only been here a minute."Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
The crown prince brushed the sweat off his forehead, forcing a grin before replying, "It's just really hot today."
Matthew glanced outside at the cool breeze blowing and fell silent momentarily. He then asked, "You didn't show him anything... weird, did you?" The crown prince's heart skipped a beat. "Boss, you know me. I won't teach a kid anything weird."
Matthew looked at him for a long
moment, clearly suspicious, but decided to drop it. The crown prince let out a sigh, thinking, If Boss knows what I have really been teaching Cole, I might not see
another birthday.
As things seemed to settle, Matthew suddenly asked, "By the way, is that 'special compendium' you've been teaching Cole all done?" Without thinking, the crown prince blurted, "Of course! It took years to put together."
Then, it hit him... and he froze.
