Chapter 3 The One Who Is Infatuated
It was Sunday evening.
Alicia and Edmond were called to the Agos Mansion for dinner.
Today she wore a beige dress, modest yet well-behaved, portraying a perfect image of obedience in front of her in-laws.
Peter Agos and his wife, Kalinda Agos, were quite pleased with their beautiful and elegant new daughter-in-law, constantly offering her dishes.
"Eat more, Licia. You're too thin. If you're this thin, it will be hard when you get pregnant. It's better to gain some weight."
"Thank you, Mom."
"I heard from the servants that you two didn't come home all last night?"
Alicia raised her eyebrows without a word.
Edmond replied indifferently, "Busy at the hospital."
Peter banged on the table, his face filled with anger.
"Busy? Busy enjoying yourself outside? Edmond, you are now married. You should hurry back and take over the company. Stop playing with people's hearts!"
Kalinda's face wasn't too good either.
She pointed at her son and reprimanded him.
"We arranged this marriage for you so you wouldn't continue your reckless behavior. Edmond, Licia is a good girl, so don't break her heart."
Edmond glanced at Alicia beside him.
Her youthful face made her look pure and innocent. Combined with her intentional dress-up today, she appeared more naive, which was a stark contrast to the flirtatious and coquettish image she had presented the other night.
Now her expression was heavy, yet he still caught the signs of her trying to suppress her laughter.
"A good girl? Heh, what a joke."
Seeing her son's disdainful attitude, Kalinda was disappointed.
"You two are staying at the old house tonight, and don't think about going anywhere. Cultivate a good relationship, and strive to have a child before the end of the year."
Alicia's face stiffened.
"Mom, there's no need..."
"Licia, don't consider Edmond. If he doesn't treat you well in the future, just tell me. I will break his leg with a stick, and see where else he dares to go."
Alicia dared not say more.
She was afraid she might say the wrong thing and expose her wild side, making her mother-in-law break her leg on the spot.
After dinner, Alicia stayed in the living room to watch TV with the elders, while Edmond went back to his room.
Kalinda pulled her aside and whispered.
"I added something to Edmond's soup earlier. You should seize the opportunity later and win his heart."
Alicia looked at her mother-in-law in shock. "What did you add?"
"Just that thing, you know. You two drank it the night before last too..."
It was like a bolt from the blue.
On the night they registered their marriage, sparks flew between them after the family dinner, and they headed back to the villa.
Alicia also regretted losing her sense after drinking alcohol.
Now she knew it was her mother-in-law's trick!
"Mom, I suddenly remembered that there are some documents at the company waiting for me to handle..."
Kalinda immediately pulled Alicia back and called the servants to push her upstairs.
"You're already married. Why are you so reserved? Hurry up and make love to Edmond! My son has a fantastic physique, and works out daily, with abs like a swimmer's and a slim waist. You better not let any other women get their hands on him! Go on, wear him out so he won't have the energy to chase after others."
Bang!
Alicia was pushed into the bedroom like this.
She was completely dumbfounded.
Are there really mother-in-laws like this?
Edmond leisurely sat on the single sofa browsing his phone, and casually glanced up at Alicia.
"I heard you want to drain me?"
"That's what your mom said. I'm not interested in greenhorns like you."

"Yes, you. Any cute boy out there is a hundred times better than you."
The man scoffed dismissively.
"Is that so? I wonder who was the one who climbed on top of me in the middle of the night, looking at me tenderly and asking if we could do it one more time?"
Alicia's face stiffened, and she immediately threw her slippers at him.
