Chapter 18
Kate’s POV
“Sage green or Olive green!” Adina, my event planner, kept on showing me all these things regarding the alpha ball and selecting colours, but I just wanted to be over with it and move on.
One might think I am planning for a wedding when all I ever do is just play the role of Luna
Hoping Micah will finally reject Zara and we can all go back to how things were before
“Sage green,” I responded, giving her a fake smile.
“You sure? I think Olive green would be nice.” Ruby, my omega, added as I smiled weakly, shaking my head.
“I like sage green,” I admitted, getting up from the chair as she looked at me, easing her head in disbelief.
Fixing my dress, I grabbed my purse, ready to leave the office of Adina.
I wore a light pink floral pleated midi dress with voluminous sleeves and a tiered skirt lifted by a layer of crinoline.
1 had my dirty blonde hair combed into a slick low ponytail with light nude makeup complimenting my olive skin tone.
“Are you not waiting for the alpha? He said he would be here in an hour?” Ruby asked me as I stopped in my tracks.
“How long ago was that?” I asked her and I could hear her heart racing as I smiled vividly, turning to look at her
“The alpha’s ball is a
few d
days from here. I can’t sit here waiting for him to show up.” I stated as I made my way out of the room.
Something inside knew exactly where he was, but I just brushed it off.
“You ready to get out of here!” Ruby asked as soon as I stepped out of the shop.
“Yes. I’m so tired,” I said to her, my voice sounding a bit lower than my usual self.
“Great,” she said as she opened the door for me. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Where to?” My driver asked me as Ruby took out her planner where I would be going for the rest of the day:
I was here doing all the Luna duties, but Micah hadn’t even thought of making me his official Luna With Zara now in the pack, I have felt that pull away from him every single time.
“Wait before we start. Did you get what I asked you?” I asked William as Ruby looked between the two of us, wondering what it was that he had gotten for me.
“Of course,” he beamed with a smile before he took a bag from under his seat and passed it behind to me
“What’s this?” Ruby asked as I took the bag away from William
Heading to the pack house, I left the bag with William before getting out of the car and going straight to the pack house because we had to make sure everything was in place, but Micah didn’t call or text me
Getting straight into work again. 1 grabbed the layouts of the dining hall as I set up the seating arrangement throughout these next few days.
“What have you buried in deep thoughts like this” Micah’s voice came as I looked up at him with a smile on my face. Walked closer to where I was
working from.
*Nothing, just planning for the ball,” I replied as I looked at the setup of the hall and the gardens.
“This looks interesting. I thought the seating plan was done already,” He said, standing next to me, but I just went to work.
He lifted his gaze, looking at me as I met with his beautiful amber eyes. He smiled vividly as he nodded his head.
“It is. Just ensuring that is everything in place,” I responded monotone
I reluctantly nodded my head as I pursed my lips together, staring at the board I had set up. Looks like everything was planned just as I wanted.
“Something on your mind?” He questioned
“Not really,” I led
He sits back in hay chair, looking at me from head to toe. His gaze not once leaves me as I look amay.
“You do realize I know when something is wrong with you, right?” He questioned me as I scoffed, getting up from the chair and walking towards the window.
“I never thought this day would come,” I retorted, looking out the window with my arms folded.
“Yes. Finally. We can put everything behind us.” He responded, coming to stand next t to me. “But that’s not why you are sad,” he added on
“What makes you think I’m sad?” I turned to look at him with my head slightly tilted.
“I know. Ever since that girl showed up. You look gloomy even more than when you found out we were not mates,” He said to me as I inhaled sharply, looking into his eyes.
“Nothing is wrong. Just exhausted,” I replied to him before I turned around, wanting to walk away.
“Come on. You know you can talk to me,” he insisted as I scoffed, raising my eyebrows.
‘Do you know what’s wrong?” I asked him, folding my arms as he shrugged his shoulders coming towards me.
“Because even when you know she exists. You act like she’s dead or something,” she said to me as I scoffed, shaking my head.
ng toward the window.
“She has a name and you ignore it,” I said to him as he inhaled sharply, walking
“She has brought nothing but problems in the pack. I just don’t under why Mateo can’t see that.” I started as she shrugged her shoulders/
“Micah, I feel there’s more than you just want to reject her. Every single time there’s something you as he shook his head
Nothing.
“I just don’t appreciate that all this is because Mateo doesn’t know when to let go“
u are not telling me about all this,” I said to him
“How about you? Do you know when to let go?” I asked him as he narrowed his eyes, trying to understand where I was going with all this.
“You say this but do something else.”
“If this is about what happened about a few days ago. All I want is to make sure she doesn’t repeat that.”
“No. This isn’t about that. This is about you not wanting anything to commit to.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” he asked me
“Do you remember what you told me when you asked me to stay?” 1 asked him, as he sighed heavily.
“Kate, I thought you were okay with this, What’s happening?” he asked me as I shook my head.
“Maybe I am getting tired of waiting for you. Even if it is not marriage, at least let me mark you,” I said to him as he let out an exasperated sigh.
“I already told you the answer to that. Why should we be having marks to-
“You know what? It’s fine. Forget I brought this up” I cut him short knowing he would want to start explaining that we don’t need to mark each other or get married to prove that we love each other.
I grabbed my phone and bag before making my
ny way to the door.
“Do you know the difference between you and Mateo?“
He looks at me like am crazy for bringing up this.
“At least he stands for what he believes in.” I said to him before making my way out of the room I knew I had hit him right where I was supposed to,
