Chapter 25
Chapter 25 Show Off Although Christopher was not happy with what the woman said, he suppressed his anger and flashed a
smile because she was Julianna’s friend. After all, I am the one who has mistreated her.
Upon hearing that, Julianna couldn’t help but feel awkward. Prior to that, she received a phone call
from Eleanor Shell, a friend she went to university with, telling her to meet up. Julianna didn’t think too
much about it and accepted the invitation without hesitation.
Somehow, Julianna saw Christopher the moment she arrived. That was why she called out his name.
She didn’t expect Eleanor to show up and say that about Christopher. Needless to say, she wasn’t
happy with what she heard. That wasn’t something nice to say. Christopher was protecting the country
when he went away. I’ve misunderstood him.
“I’m here to meet up with my friends from university.” Julianna quickly changed the topic. In response,
Christopher nodded and answered, “Oh, all right. Have fun! Something came up, so I have to head
back.”
“Why are you leaving? Since you’ve come back, let’s have dinner together!” Eleanor smiled.
Christopher hesitated and glanced at Julianna. However, Julianna kept mum. Suddenly, Eleanor smiled
and mocked, “Judging by your attire, could it be that you’ve just retired from the army? Why would
someone join the army in this day and age? Julianna, your husband is rather dense, isn’t he?”
Christopher was getting annoyed with Eleanor. What’s with her attitude? She needs to be taught a
lesson!
“Honey, who is this?”
Right then, a man’s voice was heard. Eleanor laughed and answered, “Who else? This is Julianna’s
husband, the one that went missing for three years. Who would’ve thought that he had gone to join the
army? Cedric, don’t you think he’s a little foolish?”
Cedric Jeeves was Eleanor’s husband.
Cedric glanced at Christopher, and he couldn’t help but look down on him. Despite what was on his
mind, he kept a straight face and asked calmly, “What was your rank before you retired?”
“I was just an ordinary soldier.” Christopher had no intention of revealing his military rank. My military
rank is just too high. If the soldiers in Jadeborough were to see me, they would have to salute me!
“Oh, I see. So you were just a useless soldier. In that case, you’ve indeed wasted three years of your
life! You must’ve had a tough life prior to this, right? I’ll buy you dinner, okay? I’ll treat you to something
you’ve never had before,” Cedric mocked.
Cedric had no respect for Christopher because he had neither money nor status.
“Actually, you can head back first!” Julianna glanced at Christopher. She was willing to let him leave
first because the gathering wasn’t that big of a deal.
To her surprise, Christopher smiled. Did he say he’s going to buy me food that I’ve never tasted
before?
Even if Christopher wasn’t the Yaeger family’s heir, he had also been all over Epea to train when he
was in the army for five years. What have I not tasted before?
With that in mind, Christopher smiled and uttered, “It’s okay. Since you guys are Julianna’s ex-
classmates, let’s have dinner together!”
“Good! Awesome!” Eleanor was elated. As she was pointing at a hotel right in front, she said, “Let’s
go!”
Christopher was unfazed. After all, he had been through similar situations before. Julianna, on the
other hand, was worried. “If you don’t want to join us, I can just let them know,” she whispered to
Christopher.
“It’s all right, really. It’s a rare opportunity for us to get together, isn’t it?” Christopher answered softly. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Cedric’s family was actually very well off. One could tell simply by looking at Cedric and Eleanor’s
clothing. In fact, their watches were worth tens of thousands.
Of course, if Christopher were to take out an item from his collection, it could be worth a lot as well.
Moreover, he was the chairman of Centurion Corporation.
However, their antics didn’t bother Christopher. Since they like to show off, let’s see what they’re made
of.
The moment Cedric stepped into the restaurant, he smiled and said, “This restaurant belongs to a
friend of mine. Just mention my name the next time you guys eat here, okay? You can get a discount.”
