Chapter 960
In just a few days, Fermin had managed to uncover all of Drake’s associates. His tactics were indeed as formidable as the rumors suggested.
“The Eaton family may not be much, but we hold considerable influence here,” Garland declared. “You failed Liza and wronged the Eaton family. You know what? While we may not control other territories, anyone who dares to do business with the Lowe family will face our wrath.”
Everyone in the crowd was shocked. They had believed that Drake would rise there as a new star, capable of challenging the Houston family. But now, it seemed that this star had been snuffed out before it could even shine. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Debra struggled to stifle a laugh. She downed her champagne and placed the empty glass on a nearby table.
Raising her voice, she said, “Mr. Eaton has made his point clear. Why is everyone still lingering here? Want to fight alongside Drake?”
Drake glared at her. “You’re enjoying this a bit too much, aren’t you?”
But his threat fell on deaf ears. She said, “I’m leaving. I heard the last company that crossed the Eaton family went bankrupt.”
“Debra!” Drake growled, ready to silence her.
Just then, the guests began to leave. Only a horde of reporters remained, their cameras clicking incessantly.
“Hey, don’t just take pictures of him. Get some shots over here too,” Garland urged, but the earpiece blared once again.
Shifting his demeanor, he commanded, “Didn’t you hear me? Take pictures over here.”
Startled by his aura, the reporters rushed to capture Drake’s grim expression.
Debra quickly stepped out of the frame, laughing heartily.
Her eyes scanned the dispersing crowd and caught a glimpse of a familiar figure.
Her smile faded as she tried to get a better look, but a voice from behind interrupted her. ” This is all your fault!”
Her face contorted with rage, Cathryn grabbed a knife and lunged at Debra.
Drake’s expression tightened, and Garland freaked out, “What the hell?”
He couldn’t let anything happen to Debra, or Juan would not let him off.
Both men rushed toward her, but another figure moved faster, quickly pulling Debra
behind him.
Drake halted, his outstretched hand dropping to his side. Garland also stopped abruptly.
With a swift motion, Marion knocked the knife out of Cathryn’s hand.
Garland was relieved, but Liza was visibly shaken. She hadn’t expected Cathryn’s hatred toward Debra to run so deep.
Marion turned to Debra, asking, “Are you okay?
Debra smiled, “Yeah. I knew you wouldn’t leave me alone.”
Marion tapped her head. “You’re silly.”
