My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2694

Tremaine's heart was heavy with sadness after listening to Sheldon.

"Well, so what? It's not like I can do anything else, can I?" Tremaine replied.

Sheldon was shocked at this response.

He had just realized how difficult of a position Tremaine was in.

It did seem impossible.

To fix things with Yesseca...

Tremaine couldn't be himself around Yesseca, so how else was he going to act around her?

Sheldon couldn't answer him.

Tremaine's immaculate face looked fatigued and depressed.

Meanwhile, Yesseca was just about to drop Dory off at her home.

"Goodbye, Miss Cowell," Dory bid farewell to Yesseca and waved at her.

But Yesseca didn't walk away.

She pondered something for a moment, then said, "Dory, there's something I need to talk to you about Sabrina."

"Okay." Dory listened obediently.

Yesseca hesitated, but then managed to say, "Dory. Sabrina was very obviously in the wrong today. You don't have to apologize to her at all. You need to be tough and stand up for yourself. You need to tell Sabrina that she can't talk to you like that."

She noticed that Sabrina didn't take Dory seriously at all today.

And they were classmates!

It was very obvious that Sabrina picked on Dory very often.

Dory, however, didn't fight back.

This had gotten so bad that Sabrina didn't even regard Dory as a human being!

Dory turned quiet when she heard this.

Yesseca reached out with her hand and patted Dory on the head. "Dory, listen. Even though we're both girls, we must be brave. If we get bullied, we must stand up for ourselves. We have to show them that we won't be so easily bullied and that we're tough so that they won't dare to bully us again." Yesseca then made an analogy to help Dory understand.

She said, "Dory, think of this. Imagine we're at the supermarket and you bought yourself a block of sweet jelly. If you crushed the jelly in your hand, would it break apart?"

Dory nodded. "Yes."

"Now, if we brought that block of

jelly home and left it in the freezer

overnight to harden. If we try @!!

crush it again, would itet

apart?"

"No." Dory answered obediently,

"Because the block of jelly would et

now be frozen. If you try to crush it by hand, it won't break because it's too hard."

Yesseca smiled.

She then asked, "So, you understand what I mean?"novelbin

After being confused for a moment, Dory suddenly understood.

Based on her expression, Yesseca could tell that she did understand.

She then said softly, "Dory, since you understand me, you should know what to do next time. Even though the block of jelly isn't soft anymore, it also won't be so easily broken apart. People are the same."

Dory bit her lip.

She wanted to say something.

But decided not to.

She simply nodded her head.

Yesseca understood. She smiled and said, "Alright then. You should go on inside now, Dory."

Dory waved goodbye to Yesseca and went into her house.

After she went in, she realized that no one was home.

Aimeen hadn't come home yet.

She had recently gotten addicted to playing cards.

She would often play cards and gamble with other people at the nearby community center.

For Dory's sake, Yesseca would give Aimeen a sum of money every month.

But Aimeen would rarely ever use the money for Dory's needs.

In addition to eating, drinking, and having fun, Aimeen gambled all of her money away.

But Dory felt relieved that Aimeen wasn't home.

Because she would have a few precious moments of peace when Aimeen wasn't around.

If she was home, she would immediately order Dory to either cook or do housework.
