PREGNANT BUT REJECTED AS A BILLIONAIRE WIFE

PHB 7

Deasy held her head, feeling its heaviness. As she opened her eyes fully, she slowly sat up, trying to remember what had happened to her.

Then, one by one, flashes of the previous night’s events began to play in her mind. Like a faulty cassette, it kept replaying, startling her.

“Deasy! What did you do last night?!” she exclaimed half-yelling. Peeking under the covers, she realized she was completely naked. “Oh my, did I make out recklessly again?” she half sighed while massaging her temple. “But who did I sleep with last night?”

Deasy tried to remember. She carefully thought through the scattered puzzle in her mind, and she was convinced that there was a handsome man she met last night who took her home to her apartment.

“I’m sure that the guy I slept with last night was really handsome. But who is he?” she asked herself uncertainly. Then she quickly tapped her own head. “Ohhh, Deasy. Why do you make it a habit to sleep with just anyone! You’re still heartbroken, and yet you’re doing this!”

Deasy sighed, berating herself for acting foolishly after being left by Daniel, the man who had once occupied her heart.

She blamed herself for loving Daniel too much. After giving her whole heart to him, her ex-boyfriend blatantly betrayed her by having a relationship with another woman, eventually leading to pregnancy and a forced marriage.

Ignoring all the swirling thoughts in her mind, Deasy quickly reached for her phone when it suddenly rang. Upon checking, there was a text message that made her get out of bed right away.

She rushed to the bathroom, deciding to freshen up and get ready.

Since she didn’t have any work-related schedule on the weekends, after showering and getting dressed, she immediately went to meet someone at a certain place.

When she arrived at a coffee shop, another woman was already waiting for her. Deasy smiled and as soon as she reached the table, she hugged the woman tightly without hesitation.

“Oh, finally we meet. I’ve missed you so much, Ve,” Deasy said as she released the embrace. She pulled out a chair and sat facing the beautiful woman, who was none other than Veronica Ashborne.

After spending some time abroad with Darwin, Veronica eventually returned to England. Feeling nostalgic, she decided to meet up with Deasy after being apart for so long.

“I’ve missed you so much too. How’s Aunt Della? Is she doing okay? You’re still living together, right?”

Veronica knew well that after her father’s death some time ago, Deasy decided to live with her mother.

Before that, Deasy often had disagreements with her late father and chose to live on her own.

Maybe, out of concern, her friend decided to return home. Veronica wondered if they were still living together or if Deasy had gone back to living on her own.

“Mama is doing fine, Ve. But for the past few months, I’ve been back in my apartment.”

“Why?” Veronica looked curious. As far as she knew, Deasy was quite close to her mother. “Did you have a fight with Aunt Della?”

Deasy shook her head.

“No fight, actually. It’s just that recently I got a big project and I’ve been coming home very late. Rather than making Mama worry about me coming home late all the time, I decided to stay in the apartment for a while until I finish this project.”

Veronica nodded, understanding Deasy’s reasoning. It made sense for her friend to stay separately for a while, rather than causing worry for her mother by coming home late due to her work project.

“How about you? Are you doing well with Darwin?”

Veronica pulled the corner of her lips into a broad smile. She openly displayed her happiness as if signaling to Deasy that she was not just doing fine, but maybe even better than that.

“Darwin and I are doing great too. What about you? Have you found a boyfriend? Or maybe you’re already engaged and planning to get married.”Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

Deasy sighed in annoyance. Marrying someone was far from her thoughts. Her love story had crumbled along the way.

“I just broke up. The guy I often talked to you about, he got married to another woman.”

“What?!” Veronica looked shocked. “So, he left you to get married?”

Deasy nodded disinterestedly.

“That guy is such a jerk. We were in a serious relationship. We even planned to get married. Little did I know, I gave him my wholehearted love, sacrifices, priorities, and everything, but in the end, he impregnated another woman and got married not long ago.”

Veronica laughed. She patted Deasy’s shoulder to calm her emotions.

“Be patient. That means he wasn’t your soulmate. But during your relationship, you didn’t sleep with this guy, right?”

Deasy choked for a moment. She didn’t expect Veronica to suddenly ask this question.

“Thankfully, no,” Deasy replied.

“That’s good to hear. If you had slept with him, it would’ve been you who lost, Des.”

Deasy nodded with a bitter smile. Staring blankly at the drink on the table, she spoke softly.

“I didn’t sleep with Daniel at all. But, I ended up sleeping with another guy. What a fool I am!”

“What? Wait, what? You slept with another guy? What do you mean?” Veronica was taken aback. Even though Deasy said it quietly, she heard it very clearly.

“Yes, I was heavily drunk and lost control. Worse yet, I slept with another guy who’s actually my subordinate at the office.”

“Oh my God, Deasy,” Veronica exclaimed, unable to believe it. “What about your relationship with this guy? Didn’t you ask for responsibility?”

Deasy shook her head immediately.

“I couldn’t care less. It was just a one-time thing. Besides, nowadays it’s not taboo for guys and girls who don’t know each other to make out or have a one-night stand for fun. Let’s just consider it as me doing that.”

“You’re crazy!”

“Oh, come on, Veronica. Don’t be old-fashioned. Last night, I even slept with another random guy again.”

Veronica furrowed her brow. Before her shock could fade away, Deasy shocked her once again with her confession.

“What do you mean? Last night, I had sex with another guy again?”

Deasy nonchalantly nodded as if she carried no burden.

“Yes, my dear Veronica. I got drunk again last night and ended up making out with a random guy I didn’t even know.”

“Oh my God, Deasy. Why are you acting so crazy!”

“But it’s okay,” Deasy defended herself. “I’m sure the guy I slept with last night was handsome,” she said with a smile. She brought her hand to her lips and touched them repeatedly while murmuring, “I remember so well how warm and wet his lips felt. I really liked the way he kissed me,” she said with a delighted grin. Closing her eyes, she tried to remember everything she had done last night. “His perfume, his touch, his kisses, his moves, and… ah,” Deasy moaned and then opened her eyes. “I remember how he satisfied me last night.”

Veronica stared in disbelief. She couldn’t fathom what had possessed her friend to act without thinking and sleep with a random guy. Without hesitation, she lightly slapped Deasy’s head, making the woman yelp in pain.

“Ouch, Veronica!”

“I don’t care! I just want you to realize. How could you sleep with just any guy? And what if you get pregnant?”

Deasy laughed, finding Veronica’s concern amusing.

“There’s no way I could get pregnant, Ve. Relax.”

“Why? Did the guy use protection when he slept with you?”

Deasy rolled her eyes, trying to remember something, then shook her head.

“I don’t remember if he used protection or not. We were both drunk, so I couldn’t really tell if the little bird was wearing a helmet or not. But I’m pretty sure I won’t get pregnant. I’ve only played the injection game twice.”

Veronica let out a long sigh. She didn’t know what else to say. The damage was done. If something happened, she couldn’t do anything to help.

“Just be careful, and if I hear you’re pregnant, I’ll be the first one to laugh at you.”

“That’s not going to happen,” Deasy confidently replied. “Relax, I won’t get pregnant.”

After a lengthy chat, discussing various topics, Deasy and Veronica decided to part ways. Deasy chose to return to her apartment.

Within minutes of arriving home, the doorbell to her apartment rang. Deasy hurried to open the door and found Lucas standing there, looking nervous.

“Lucas? What are you doing here?”

Indeed, it was Lucas who visited her. Raising his head, he nervously replied to Deasy’s question.

“Can I come in? There’s something I need to discuss with you.”

Without suspicion or many questions, Deasy welcomed her guest inside. After they both sat on the sofa, she asked Lucas to proceed with his reason for coming.

“Firstly, I want to apologize,” Lucas said with his head slightly bowed.

“Apologize?”

Deasy was puzzled. Why would her subordinate come for a visit and suddenly apologize for no apparent reason?

“Yes, Ma’am. I want to apologize for leaving this morning without saying goodbye.”

Deasy was taken aback. She tried to process what Lucas had just said.

“Why? Say goodbye? Why should you say goodbye for everything? Are you…”

Deasy’s words hung in the air. Before she could finish her sentence, something suddenly crossed her mind, and she reflexively widened her eyes.

“Don’t tell me you were the one who-”

“Yes, Ma’am,” Lucas promptly interrupted. He deliberately cut off Deasy’s words. “I was the one who took you to your apartment last night when you were drunk at the bar.”

“B-but, it wasn’t you who was my partner in bed last night, right?”

Lucas scratched his non-itchy neck and gathered his courage to nod slowly, replying softly.

“Unfortunately, it was me, Ma’am. I was the one who slept with you last night. I tried my best to refuse, but you insisted even to the point of undressing me first.”

Deasy felt her throat tighten. Knowing that it was Lucas who had slept with her last night made her head suddenly throb. She couldn’t comprehend what sins she had committed in the past. Why did she end up sleeping with a dorky guy like Lucas, who have small penis? Oh God.
