Revenge Against My Ex-husband

Chapter 246 Kidnapping

Chapter 246 Kidnapping

She had promised to stay with Nathan and forgive him. However, the reality presented a bigger

problem than she thought. Rowane was her younger sister, and they had the same blood flowing in

their veins after all. She was not able to accept a man who had an affair with her younger sister.

However, it was not a matter of whether she could accept what had happened or not. It was Rowane

who was indeed in love with Nathan. When she observed her affection towards Nathan and

remembered the fact that she was pregnant, Irene wished to persuade Nathan to accept Rowane.

Ever since she had said that sentence at the hospital that day, Nathan avoided spending time alone

with Irene. He did not want Irene to tell him to take responsibility for Rowane. Meanwhile, Irene was in

a difficult position as well. Nathan had wasted nine years of his youth with her, so how could she ask

him to marry Rowane?

She was hesitant, so Kinsey came to advise her as well, "Irene, give Edric one more chance."

"Why are you guys speaking on Edric's behalf recently? Didn't you guys used to hate him?"

"That was in the past, but it's the present now. We all think that Edric is not that bad of a person."

"Who are you referring to as 'we'?" Irene joked. Recently, Kinsey and Jordan had recently been quite

close. Irene could see the passion in Kinsey's eyes for him. She could not believe that this silly girl was

falling in love, so she felt proud of her.

"Who else? Jordan, of course!" Kinsey glared at Irene before adding, "My heart is not as delicate as

yours. If I like someone, I will speak up and work towards my goal clearly. Unlike you who bottles

everything up in your heart and takes everything into account. You're complicating everything!"

"How could I not be in difficulty?" Irene sighed, "I had promised to marry him, but now I'm going to tell

him to marry another woman. I know he'll listen to me, but will that be good for him? Will he be happy?"

Kinsey fell quiet for a moment before asking her out of a sudden, "Irene, can I ask you a question?

Between Edric and Nathan, who holds a more important place in your heart?"

Irene was questioning herself too. Who was more important to her? It used to be Edric, but she was

more concerned about Nathan. Her feelings towards Nathan could not count as nothing.

"Since you haven't moved on from Edric after so many years, he must be the one for you. On the other

hand, Nathan has always been infatuated with you and he has sacrificed a lot for you. Ask yourself

carefully Irene, who do you love because he is meant to be yours, and who do you love as a friend?"

"I..." Irene asked herself. Did she really not love Edric anymore? No! She had always loved him. As she

loved him, she could not tolerate his betrayal. As she loved him, she had always held a grudge against

him in her heart. However, her feelings for Nathan were complex. Maybe she was just grateful to have

him as someone to rely on instead.

"Nathan needs a woman who can love him with all her heart, not a woman who has another man in her

heart. If you cannot give Nathan the love he deserves, then it's better to leave him. You should share

your thoughts with him instead of sitting here and thinking all by yourself." Kinsey's tone grew serious,

"Nathan has gone through a lot for you all these years. How much longer should Nathan wait for you?

Rowane is now pregnant with Nathan's baby. For Nathan's happiness, it would only be good if you get

back with Edric. If you're unhappy, how will Nathan be happy too?"

Kinsey's last sentence was correct. If she was not happy, how would Nathan move on from her to find

his happiness? Rowane was gentle and kind, so she could bring joy to Nathan. It was better to cut

short the sorrows and tell Nathan what she thought about this matter.

Someone had told Eden that Rowane was pregnant with Nathan's child. So, Eden approached Irene

sadly and asked, "Mom, if Aunt Rowane is pregnant with Uncle Nathan's baby, does that mean you

won't marry Uncle Nathan anymore?"

Irene nodded and replied, "Yes. Since Rowane is pregnant with Nathan's child, I won't be able to marry

Nathan. Are you sad because your wish isn't fulfilled, Eden?"

"Kinda," Eden answered, "Although I wished that Nathan could be my father, Kinsey said that the baby

you're pregnant with belongs to Dad. This means that I already have a father. Although Dad was

ridiculous last time, he now treats me well and so does Grandma. So, Kinsey told me to give Dad a

chance. Mom, will you give Dad one more chance?"

"Are you willing to give Dad a chance?"

"If Mom is willing, I will give Dad a chance too."

Irene rubbed Eden's head and said, "You're such a good boy," Suddenly, she sensed that someone

was staring at her from behind. She turned around and saw Nathan behind her and Eden.

"Nathan, since when did you come?"

"I just got here," Nathan walked towards them, "Irene, let's have a chat!"

Irene nodded and went to the garden together with Nathan. Nathan helped her sit on the bench before

asking, "Irene, do you believe in fate?"

Irene shook her head. She did not know why Nathan would bring that up.

Nathan stared at her gorgeous face and said, "I didn't believe in it in the past either. I truly believe that

hard work will lead to success, but now I believe that fate does exist!" He continued, "Ever since the

matter has occurred, I've been in a dilemma and I didn't dare to face you. After thinking about it for a

few days and observing from the sidelines, I finally dare to tell you this now."

Irene sighed and said, "I'm sorry, Nathan. It's all my fault."

"No! This has nothing to do with you. Irene, it's my fault. My love wasn't strong enough. After interacting

all this while, I've realized that Rowane is a good lady. She's as gentle and kind as you are and she's

as pure and lovely. She is a good choice for me, and I've realized that I've already fallen for her. So, I'm

sorry, Irene. I've decided to cancel our engagement."

Those were not Nathan's true feelings. Instead, what he really wanted to say was, "Irene, I had really

loved you. I'd love you for so many years, and I'd always believed that I had the determination to love

you. I really wished that you could stay by my side for me to love you for the rest of your life. However,

now, I cannot be selfish."

"To love someone is to make her happy. I don't think I am that noble. I just don't want to see you in an

awkward position and be in a difficult position. So I have to take the initiative to let go of you."

"Nathan!" Irene's eyes were brimming with tears. Even an idiot would know why Nathan was taking the

initiative to break off the engagement. "Thank you for thinking for my sake. I'm sorry!"

"I'm not as noble as you think. I really do like Rowane, and she's pregnant with my child. I also realized

that my age is catching up, so it's time to have a family," Indeed, he liked Rowane, but it was not love.

Being with Rowane was his responsibility. Rowane was pregnant with his child, so he could not let her

down. More importantly, Irene would be at ease and happy. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

"I've already told Britney about this. First, we'll hold the engagement ceremony with Rowane. After that,

we'll get married. Britney has already gotten someone to make the preparations. I hope that you'll be

able to attend my engagement ceremony."

Irene nodded, "I'll definitely give you my blessings. Nathan, you must always be happy, okay?"

The news of Nathan's marriage with Rowane was soon known to everyone. Everyone sincerely wished

them happiness. Edric took the initiative to hold Nathan's hand and wished him, "Nathan,

congratulations!"

Nathan had to be happy. That was the true meaning behind Edric's words. He really admired Nathan

for sacrificing so much for his love. A kind person like Nathan had to be happy. He must be! Nathan's

joy had originally come from Irene. So, he would be satisfied only when she was happy!

Nathan's engagement with Rowane was announced to the public immediately. Naturally, Joanne heard

the news while she was in Mencodia. When she knew that Rowane was actually Irene's younger sister,

Joanne felt uneasy. First, it had been Irene. Now, Rowane appeared. Had she plotted all this while in

vain?

Joanne was unhappy at first, but something even more unpleasant happened. Under the Reed

Family's pressure, Joanne's parents initiated the breaking of her engagement with the Reed Family.

Joanne had been waiting for Jordan to marry her after three years. She had not expected her parents

to be the ones to initiate the annulment. She was going mad.

It was all that b*tch, Irene's fault. If it was not for Irene, she would not become like this. Joanne

returned to Haverland in a fit of rage.

Joanne was plotting something. As Irene had ruined her happiness, she would never let Irene go. She

had to make Irene pay the price.

Hearing that Lily was now a bargirl at a lowly bar, Joanne went to search for Lily herself to convince Lily

to take revenge on Irene with her plan.

Since Lily was in such a dreaded situation, she felt extremely unsatisfied with her predicament. Hence,

they chose to cooperate and discussed how to teach Irene a good lesson.

Joanne and Lily reached a conclusion. Joanne would fund their operation, and Lily would take action

on Irene when she was accompanying Eden at the hospital. It would be best if they managed to kidnap

both Irene and Eden.

Lily had gotten in a relationship with a gangster to be protected from Jackson. The gangster was a thug

who watched the bar. He was named Wayne Reed. Lily had flirted with Wayne as he had looked like a

hero in the bar and she hoped that he could assist her in the operation. Now that Joanne was

proposing some cash for her to punish Irene, she immediately thought of Wayne. Wayne could settle

the matter without her worrying.

Of course, there was another reason why she wanted Wayne to do this. Lily had thought of the escape

plan. Since Wayne would be executing the operation, it would have nothing to do with her. By the time

Joanne paid her the money, she would take it and flee far away.

When they got home in the evening, Lily told Wayne about the matter. When Wayne heard that there

was cash involved, he agreed.

After Wayne agreed, Joanne paid him a sum as a deposit. The balance would be paid once Wayne

completed the kidnapping mission.

After Wayne thought about it for a few days, he changed his mind and said that the matter should not

be settled that way. The reason other people was kidnapped was due to money, but instead, they were

doing it for murder. Security was tight recently, and no one could escape from murder. There had to be

another way to handle the situation.

Lily asked for his opinion for another method, but Wayne then questioned their purpose of kidnapping.

Lily answered that it was for revenge which Wayne suggested that the best revenge was not killing

someone, but to make the person suffer a life worse than death.

Wayne proposed to kidnap Irene, hit her on the head, and then kick her until her water broke. By the

time that happened, she would not even know who the kidnapper was, and they could also relieve their

anger. Then, Irene's son would not have anyone to save him because there would be no more

umbilical cord.

It would be safer that way, too, since they were not killing someone instantly.

Lily updated Joanne about Wayne's proposal. Joanne's eyes lit up. How could she not think of that

solution in the first place? Killing the baby would make Eden lose his vital umbilical cord. That would do

more pain to Irene than killing her. Hence, she agreed.

After discussing the plan, Wayne arranged for someone to kidnap Irene in the hospital. Joanne and Lily

were waiting at the extraction point for their target. After a few hours, a black car appeared in front of

them. The impregnated Irene was pushed down from the car with her eyes covered and hands tied.

Irene was then dragged into the house. Joanne chased after her and kicked her tummy as she

shouted, "You fool! I'll make you suffer! I'm gonna kill you today!"

Lily refused to have any mercy against Irene, who was pregnant, and joined Joanne. Soon, Irene, who

was pregnant, fell to the ground as blood covered her body.
