Chapter 23
~Alex’s POV~
“Desmond, I’ve been searching for my mate for five years and you’re unable to provide me with any leads. You continue to warn me about a man I should dread, but I am at a loss for a solution.”
“Alex, you must realize that not everything revolves around you. I warned you to find your mate before he did, but you failed, and now he has found her, and believe me, it will not end well for you. You were her second chance, mate. If I were you, I would pray she doesn’t get to talk again, because if that girl opens her mouth and utters your name, you will be a dead man. In addition, Alex, please refrain from contacting me in the future. If he discovers that I am assisting you in any way, he will execute me without hesitation. As I’ve already stated, he’s not someone you should be messing with at all costs. I’m going to leave you now. Have a wonderful day.”
This witch continues telling me that there is someone stronger than me, and I don’t believe him.
I doubt all these packs bow to me with their alphas.
Who would dare to challenge me?
Even the council would not dare to challenge me. I can’t afford to mess with this guy.
Who the fuck is this bloke?
They must track down Juno and bring her back to this location. She needs to assume control of her Luna responsibilities. She is mine, mine to touch, mine to do whatever the hell I want.
Now that I think about it, it’s better if I locate the man who has my mate.
How can I be a second chance when she first met me?
That mute belongs to me. If Desmond is unwilling to assist, several witches would. He is ineffective. Why is it that he is unable to provide me with a name? I require the identity of the man who took my mate. Between me and his pack, the war would erupt. I am certain he is a wolf. He cannot possibly be human. Only wolves are to be feared, but I am the beast in this world.
~REX’S POV~
I entered my room, tears flowing down my cheeks incessantly. I was aware that my love, my Reina, might be inconsolable. Let me check if I can speak with her. She is constantly weeping, and as a result, my eyes are perpetually teary. It’s a novel sensation for me, and I’m enjoying it. However, I could improve if I could feel her arousal. That would be preferable. As I entered our chamber, I noticed her seated at the window, staring out and back at her wrist, that tattoo. This is the second time I’ve caught her in the same position, crying and staring at that tattoo.NôvelDrama.Org content.
Why? What is the identity of the person she is staring at? Is he the one she’s been seeing? Will she inform me if I inquire?
I really want to know, but I can’t force her to tell me why she is always crying, especially when looking at that face on her wrist. I couldn’t care less who she fell for before me, but if she could just tell me what’s eating her up, my desime, we are supposed to share everything. Throughout my existence, I have slept with millions of women. I want us to chuckle at such things. I want her to feel comfortable discussing practically anything with me without fear of judgment. I will never pass judgment on her. I waited years for her. Whatever the situation is, she could at the very least inform me so that we may confront it together, albeit I will not pledge not to kill. She cannot continue in this manner. I approached her as she wiped away her tears.
“Why, my darling, do you continue to behave in this manner? I am aware of your discomfort. Kindly discuss your problems with me. A shared difficulty is a problem halved. I promise I will never criticize you and that I am here to listen to both your happy and sad moments.” She looked at me like a suspect, as usual.
“Would you like to take a walk?” I asked, and she gave a nod.
“You know what, put on your jodhpurs and a good pair of riding boots. We might come up with something entertaining to do while walking.”
Okay, she texted.
I proceeded to the restroom to change. When I emerged, she was already dressed. She appeared to be quite seductive as if he had previously ridden a horse. We took a stroll around the palace before settling into the garden.
“Tell me about your favorite activities when you were little.”
Not much, just a little fun with Cynthia.
“Cynthia? Is that your friend?”
Yea, she was the only one in the pack who didn’t seem to mind that I was a human.
A pack? So she was raised by wolves. That’s fantastic; we’re making progress.
“What about your parents?”
They’re not people I’ve ever met. I was living on the street, and when I was five years old, the pack’s omegas, who took care of me, adopted me.
“That reminds me, I submitted an application to the university on your behalf yesterday. Your certificates lacked a surname.”
They did not officially adopt me because of my human nature. The alpha permitted my parents to care for me, but not to adopt me legally.
“Make sense? And I used my surname. You will now be known as Juno Athena Wolf.”
As soon as I brought up Athena, I noticed her eyes narrowing a little. I knew she was there. Small steps. I’m confident she will emerge, my badass Reina. Juno then looked at me. Even if it is only one thing, I hope she remembers something about us. I want her to be aware of her identity. I want her to challenge me in the same way she did previously. We only had a day, but I was head over heels in love with her. I have no objection to waiting another 100 years for her as long as she is at my side. I want to witness her first transformation into a lycan.
That name appears to be familiar. She texted.
I wanted to inform her that it had been your name, but I was afraid I would confuse her. For the time being, we don’t need to discuss our personal lives in great detail. She might feel uneasy.
“How about we go horse riding?” She grinned. My mum is aware that I wish to see that smile for the rest of my days.
That is something I have never done before.
“Then I’ll show you.” We walked to the ranch. My horses aren’t your typical stallions. They’ve been with me for as long as I can remember, some before I met Juno and some after. We went horse riding the day I met Juno, and I taught her how to ride a horse just as I am doing today.
“Choose a horse,” I stated, and she directed my attention to the Akhal-Teke. My eyes widened. That is her horse, but she is unaware of it. I presented her with this horse on the day we met.
“Would you like to give her a name? She is without a given name.” I lied; she does have a name that she received from Juno that day.
Aurora. It’s fantastic.
I shifted my gaze and wiped away my tears. That was the moniker she bestowed on her years ago. My eyes were watery and red.
If you don’t like the name, it was simply the first thing that came to mind. If you’re not happy with it, I’ll change it.
“No, Reina, it’s lovely. I love the name. Would you like to touch her?” She nodded.
When Juno touched Aurora, she sprung to her feet and reared, neighing excitedly. Juno’s eyes shifted once again, most likely in connection with her horse. She began pacing in the vicinity around Juno. I saw her, grabbed her phone, and texted me.
She’s taken a shine to me, hasn’t she?
The only response I could muster was a nod of acknowledgment of what my eyes had caught. After a while, everything will start to make sense.
I’ll make up for the years we didn’t get to spend together. I will love you at the end of my days. There would be nothing else but you and me. You are solely mine. For you, I would ruin the world. Reina, you are mine.
After I said that, at the back of my mind, I smiled, and we started to race our horses.
