Suddenly Married

Chapter 15 Threat

Kian and I never talk in the morning because my class was an hour earlier than his. I just heated up the food I cooked last night. The cake I baked was just in the fridge.

After I got dressed, he woke up. He was quiet and I knew he was watching me. I have a lot to say and I have things I want to ask him but I don’t want to start this day with a fight. With the annoyance I felt last night and until now I am sure it will lead to a quarrel.

As much as possible I want to be calm. I don’t want to mess up my mind especially since we have quizzes that I have to prepare for this week.

My chest tightens. I hardly slept. I was irritated as I listened to her snore. He was under the influence of alcohol so he slept very soundly.

He didn’t know or it is more correct to say that he doesn’t care about his wife who is irritated and resentful towards him.

“I’m going,” I coldly said goodbye to him.

He stood up immediately and approached me. He kissed my head.

“Remember, Moo, I love you. See you later.”

I nodded and didn’t speak again. I turned around and left the house.

I go straight to the classroom without looking at those around me. I am too mad to entertain anyone. I took a deep breath and sighed.

I drank some water from my tumbler to lessen the lump that is in my throat.

I knew Macy was looking at me.

She’s sitting on the left side but I didn’t look back at her. I can’t smile. Even just a fake smile, because I’m not that type of a person.

Our morning class has finished. I immediately got up and go to the canteen. Kian had a text message saying that he was already there.

There were a lot of people in the canteen so he didn’t just pick me up here so he could order our food. I did not reply. I just hope that he knew what do I feel about last night. It’s not about the surprise that I prepared.

“Beth,” Macy called me. I am not really in a mood right now so I pretended that I didn’t hear him. But knowing Macy, she is really determined. She grabbed my arm. I sighed before I turn to face her.

Her smile was different as I looked at her. It is tinged with sadness and worry. My forehead furrowed.

“Yes? Something’s wrong?” I asked. Did she have a problem? Why didn’t she approach her friends?

“Are you okay?” she asked me. My forehead furrowed even more. She just approached me for that?

“O-Of course,” I replied. I managed to plaster a smile. She sighed and then smile.

No matter how hard she tried to smile, still, the sadness and worry were evident on her face.

“You? Are you okay?” I asked.

Where is this conversation going?

She nodded and smiled. I didn’t eat much this morning so I feel hungry.

“I’m hungry so I’ll get going,” I said and patted her on her arm. She nodded again and didn’t say anything.

I stopped walking when from here at the canteen door I saw the cheerleader sitting opposite Kian’s seat. She has this sweet and flirty smile on her lips while looking at Kian.

I can’t see Kian’s reaction. From here I can only see his back. My forehead frowned.

And because I heard Macy’s voice behind me I started to move forward. I turned to her and smiled sparingly. She also smiled but her eyes were on the people I had been looking at earlier.

The cheerleader still did not leave her seat even though she saw me coming. Kian seemed to feel my presence and he immediately stood up then greeted me.

I smiled at him even though I shouldn’t. He kissed me on my lips. I raised an eyebrow at the cheerleader.

Hmm… what’s her name again? I looked at her id.

Jewel. Nice name. I hope her name is as nice as her whole being.

“Yes?” I asked looking at the cheerleader whose name is Jewel. This is the first time that I ever used this tone with anyone.

She smiled and shook her head. When she stood up she smiled at Kian before turning to me. Then she winks at me. I was distracted by it. I looked at Kian who also immediately met my eyes. He hugged me.

“Don’t mind her,” he whispered.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Jewel walked back to where she and her group were. I sat down too. Kian’s friends were quiet. They are not talking now about anything like they used to. It seems all their attentions were on me.

I have a quiz for my two subjects this afternoon. Even though I thought last night to talk to them, scold or threaten, I didn’t.

Good thing is that they didn’t ask permission again to let Kian go with them. Some students talked about Jeron’s birthday, their friend. I did not greet him. They didn’t tell me either. And maybe when I greet him, he’ll ask me to let Kian go with them again.

That’s the time when I finally burst out with anger. I don’t want bad vibes as much as possible.

Kian walked me to my classroom. Five minutes before our classes will start.

“I’ll wait for you later,” he said.

His class will be done thirty minutes before my class. I nodded my head. He gently stroked my neck and forehead.

“You okay?” he asked while frowning. I shooked my head.

“Go into your room. I love you so much, Moo,” he whispered before placing a kiss on my lips.

The class went well. I also answered the questions in our quiz well. Our class ended early as expected. I feel exhausted. That’s why I want to go home, and lie down in bed early.

Before I could stand up, my classmate approach me.

“Beth, are you coming with us?” she asked. Unlike Macy, we barely talk. I shooked my head to say no.

“We are graduating. You should come with us. You’ll enjoy it!” She thought I would be enticed but I shooked my head again. Nothing could change my mind. I’m not really into parties even before. I will not definitely enjoy it. They might also call me kill joy if I forced myself to join them.

She sighed. One of Macy’s friends also approached and convinced me. Seems that they are all going into that party. It’s the first time that someone ask me to join them which I politely rejected.
