“Is there anything Adrian doesn’t eat, Grandpa? I’ve made four different types. There should be one he likes, right?“–Farrah poured him a glass of water. “Have some water and a seat. I’ll clean up here.”
“Sure, sure.” Philip took the water. “He eats anything and has no allergies or dishes that he doesn’t like.”
“That’s great.”
Philip and Farrah chatted for a while before Adrian returned. Before he could explain where he’d been, Philip berated him.
“Don’t be mad, Grandpa. You wouldn’t want to fall sick again, would you?” Farrah hurriedly stepped in with a smile. “Today was an emergency for Adrian–he already promised me he would be back early tonight. He would’ve returned even if you hadn’t called him.”
Philip had gotten discharged earlier than planned because he’d been worried Adrian would stay out all night, leaving Farrah alone at home. He’d come to supervise the young couple so they would have a lovely wedding night and consummate the marriage!

of it, Grandpa,” Adrian said. He sat beside Philip and scooped up a ravioli. It tasted good, but he had
mixed feelings about it.
He thought about something that had happened 18 years ago, when he’d been five. His heart throbbed painfully–the incident had to do with ravioll. Since then, he’d never eaten ravioli again. It had been 18
years.
“I didn’t know which type you liked, so I made four varieties. Grandpa told me you didn’t have any allergies, so I cooked the mushroom ones today.” Farrah was quite nice to Adrian. He’d saved her and Jodie, and she was thankful for that.
“Oh.” Adrian wanted to brush her off, but remembering that Philip was around, he added, “They taste good. I like them.”
Philip was delighted to hear that, “Have Fay cook this more often in the future if you like them! Treat her well, and she’ll be glad to cook for you!”
Philip was so… Adrian sighed to himself. it’d be better for him to speak less in the future.
After the meal, Adrian got up. Philip looked at him and said, “Adrian, you do the dishes since Fay did the cooking. A marriage will only work out if both parties contribute equally to the housework!”
Adrian faltered. Then, he started clearing the table. “Got it.”
“Grandpa…” Farrah started.
“Don’t say anything, Fay. Let him do it!”
In short, Adrian would never defy Philip. The latter was the person he cared most about in this world.
Farrah had no choice but to sit there and watch Adrian, He was tall, and his fingers were slender. Even as he cleared the table and brought the dirty dishes to the kitchen, he didn’t seem to fit in with the world.
“Come sit and chat with me, Fay,” Philip said. He grabbed her before she could head to the kitchen to help. As they sat on the couch, he said in a low voice, “Don’t feel bad for him. You have to train him to do housework from the first day of your marriage, or he’ll think it’s your duty to serve him!”
