Chapter 10: Crushing on the cousin
Rowan pulled back slowly, his gaze still on her. He cleared his throat meaningfully, “Are you alright?”
Bonnie’s mouth evolved into a cute smile that could melt heart, ” I feel much better. You should hug me several times!” She teased.
Rowan laughed, and easily steadied his heartbeat, “We should go back up,” he glanced at the prison.
Bonnie looked at him, skeptical, “Aren’t you going to see Brook?”
He sighed, placed a hand behind Bonnie, and slowly led her up the stairs, ” The more you see them, the more sadness you do feel. I don’t want to be the source of my sister’s sadness.”
Bonnie loved the affection he displayed or the way he said the word. It made Bonnie feel so special.
It doesn’t matter if she was Gwen to him. Bonnie has never had someone to cherish her so close or to call her a sister.
The only thing she looked forward to then was coming of age and meeting her mate. Bonnie thought she could always find the love she missed through him.
But even that was difficult for her because she never did. And she had been living in hell thinking she might not even have a mate.
Perhaps the moon goodness forgot her.
When Rowan walked her to the front of her door, he stepped back claiming he had something urgent to attend to.
Bonnie let him go because initially, she had wanted to rest and eat.
She hadn’t felt any appetite to do anything but now, she felt lightheaded.
The door opened almost immediately as if Elixir could read her mind. She was always accurate, Bonnie thought as she watched her place the tray in front of her.
Her face held a nice smile, “Aren’t you hungry?”
Bonnie laughed briefly, “Are you a witch or do you work with a demon? ” She looked and sensed Elixir’s hands stiffed against the tray. She looked up at her hurriedly, pained that she might have said something to hurt her.
“I wanted to say you were always perfect.”
Elixir looked up and smiled, ” It’s ok. I thought you were interrogating me because of what you heard from the maids.”
The maids? Bonnie raised a confused brow but shrugged it off immediately, ” I can’t wait to have my breakfast. I’ve been starving. What’s for this morning?”
She placed the tray on the small table and placed the tray on the bed before her. She uncovered the plate and Bonnie stared at the food for a while.
She raised a brow at her, confused, “What’s this?”
“Pot roast.”
“Pot what? Where do you get all this food from?”
Elixir laughed, ” The Alpha lives in the city. So, literally, we eat every food. You should taste it, you will like it.”
She moved to the window and dropped the curtains, ” And you need to hurry up. The Alpha wants you to come to his room.”
Bonnie’s heart stopped for a moment, fear came upon her, ” Why?”
” I don’t know,” she turned to look at Bonnie. Sensing her fear, she moved closer and smiled brightly at her, ” You guys haven’t seen each other since morning and Rowan is around. So, he merely wants to deceive everyone.”
Bonnie shook her head unconsciously. Seeing Xavier was like coming face to face with the devil.
Bonnie feared what would happen. She doesn’t want to see him after what had transpired last night.
He might just squeeze her neck and kill hee at the next opportunity he gets.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“When is Rowan leaving?”
“Tomorrow and your parents are coming in the day after,” Elixir said.
Bonnie nodded slowly, thinking hard about how she would avoid Xavier at all cost. She delved into the food and took a mouthful.
She looked up at Elixir with wide eyes, “Oh Jeez! This tastes so good!”
Elixir smiled and walked around to grab her laundry.
Bonnie didn’t tell Elixir about the note. She didn’t believe it was an important substance until she found out more about it.
She was going to look into Philip. He was the first person her mind points to.
Bonnie would go and see him by afternoon. She would try to see what he would say to her. Obviously, he would be surprised and pained that Gwen was back. But if he was really keeping Gwen, he wouldn’t look so bothered.
Bonnie and Elixir walked out of the room. Bonnie turned to look at her, “Which way is Xavier’s room?”
“I will lead the way,” she said and moved forward.
Bonnie walked behind her, ” Is Rowan’s room opposite or in the same direction?”
“Opposite.”
“Then turn around. We are going to Rowan’s room.”
Elixir stopped immediately and turned to look at Bonnie, skeptical, ” The Alpha wants to see you,” she started again, helplessly.
“I know, I’m just not ready to see him,” Bonnie shivered for a moment and a feeling penetrated her mind but it didn’t matter. She would do anything to make sure she doesn’t see Xavier for a while.
“But this is not what you should do. What will the Alpha do to you if you defy his order?”
Bonnie smiled, ” The worst he can do is kill me. But he wouldn’t do that yet because of Rowan. And well, I only chose to see my cousin. Is that a crime?”
Elixir swallowed harder, ” But this isn’t as easy as you see it,” she protested softly.
Bonnie moved closer and patted her slightly on her arm, “You don’t need to worry about anything. I will handle it all. Now, lead the way.”
Elixir sighed and started away. Bonnie walked after her.
They walked for a while before Elixir stopped before a door. She turned to look at Bonnie, “This is his room.”
Bonnie smiled and walked nearer, “You can go. And please see that my parents get fed.”
Elixir smiled, “I will do that,” she said and walked away.
Bonnie knocked on the door slightly.
“Yes, come in,” a deep voice from within said.
Bonnie swallowed hard before she opened the door.
Rowan looked back at Bonnie, a glass of wine in his right hand. He wasn’t wearing anything on his upper body, he was just with a pair of black trousers.
Bonnie’s eyes went to his chest. His thick and broad shoulders and the abs that stood under them.
Unconsciously, she shivered.
