The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 8 Rumors Abound

At the Carter Group, Mason just stared at his blacked-out computer screen, watching that annoying blue bird bounce around. "I got killed again!"

And the worst part? He didn't even get a glimpse of Gaia before getting hacked. It was a total wipeout.

"Mason, you're supposed to be one of the top guys here, and this is your game?" James teased from the side.

Mason, super frustrated, shot back, "It's Gaia. I know all the tricks, but I still couldn't last a minute!" Only Gaia could pull off a counterattack that fast. When Mason tried to trace it back, he found zilch, which drove him even crazier.

"Didn't you find any useful clues?" Alexander asked, frowning.

"Not exactly. I couldn't nail down the exact spot, but I did confirm Gaia's in Skycrest!"

Mason had used every trick in the book to get that info. As a top computer science PhD, it was a huge hit to his pride.

"In Skycrest?" James was floored.

Alexander made a quick call, "Get in touch with Genesis Creations. I want to meet Gaia!"

Staring at the blue bird on the screen, Alexander got lost in thought.

Gaia, in Greek mythology, was a deity. The organization was named Genesis Creations, so the leader should be called Chaos, the god of chaos in Western mythology.

As for other members, who knew? But one thing was clear: Genesis Creations was one of the top organizations globally, and Alexander was set on getting them on his side. Meanwhile, Allison, having finished her task, was chilling on the sofa, playing a mobile game.

Someone knocked and came in; it was Hayden. "Allison, am I bothering you?"novelbin

Hayden walked in with a smile, and Allison quickly got up to help him sit down. "Grandpa. Do you need something?"

Hayden held Allison's hand and patted it gently. "I just want to know what really happened five years ago. I don't care what others say; I want to hear the truth from you!"

When Hayden brought up the events from five years ago, Allison's face darkened. "Grandpa, I want to handle this myself. Trust me, I'll take care of it and won't let you worry! You're getting older; just rest at home and leave these messy things to me, okay?"

Hayden looked at Allison deeply, feeling even more heartache.

"I know you well. Not just five years ago, even now, you wouldn't do such a thing! I might be old, but if anyone dares to mess with you, I won't let them off. You just focus on your studies, and leave everything else to me!" Saying this, Hayden took out a bank card and handed it to Allison.

He added, "Take this card. It's some money I've saved for you. Don't worry about a thing; use it however you need. I'll add more to it every month, so don't feel like you have to save anything for me."

An eighteen-year-old girl should dress beautifully. Hayden's granddaughter should be outstanding, but she had inexplicably suffered for five years. The more Hayden thought about it, the more upset he became.

Allison leaned on Hayden's shoulder. It had been so long since she relied on someone like this. Her eyes reddened, and Hayden gently patted her head, full of affection.

Allison said, "Grandpa, it's so good to have you here!"

Hayden smiled happily. He had been worried that Allison would become distant, but fortunately, their bond remained strong.

The next day during school recess, Cleo called. Allison glanced around and went to the edge of the playground to answer.

"Allison, someone's looking for you!"

"Who?" Lots of people wanted to find her, but actually doing it was a whole different story.

"Alexander from the Carter Group. We just helped them out of a jam yesterday, and now this guy's hunting you down online. What a jerk!" Cleo snapped.

Allison raised an eyebrow. Alexander wanted to see her? What a joke. Finding her wouldn't be that easy.

She instructed, "I'll handle this. You stay out of it! And for the next while, Genesis Creations is on a two-month vacation. Tell everyone to take a break!"

Cleo was taken aback. "Did something really happen between you and the Carter Group?"

Calling a full vacation for Genesis Creations was unheard of. If it wasn't something major, why would Allison make such a call?

"It's not what you think. I just want to give everyone a break, don't overthink it!" Allison hung up as she finished, leaving Cleo puzzled and even more curious about the Carter Group and Alexander. When Allison got back to the classroom, she noticed people pointing and whispering about her. She was used to it and didn't care at all.

During the break, as Allison headed to the restroom, a short-haired girl suddenly appeared in front of her. "Hi, Allison, I'm Mia Wilson!"

Allison looked at the girl, puzzled.

Mia seemed a bit shy and took a moment to speak, "Allison, can I be your friend?"

"Why?"

Although the girl seemed friendly, there had to be a reason she wanted to be friends.

Mia explained, "Because I admire you. Someone posted a video of you fighting on the school forum. You looked so cool, I want to be your disciple!"

Mia nodded and showed her phone to Allison. Seeing the video, Allison sneered. Some people just couldn't stand to see her doing well.

"Allison, I really admire you. Can you teach me how to fight?"

Seeing Mia nodding enthusiastically, Allison was speechless. She had learned martial arts for self-defense, but someone admired her for it? Allison looked at Mia, thinking the girl wasn't very bright. "Sorry, I don't teach anyone to fight," replied Allison.

As Allison turned to leave, Mia quickly followed. "Allison, don't reject me so quickly! I really like you and genuinely want to be your friend!"

Mia caught up with Allison, and Yasmin, standing in the hallway, saw the scene.

Yasmin asked, "Sophia, who's that girl following Allison?"

Sophia replied, "That's Mia, a troublemaker. Don't worry, Yasmin, I'll deal with her and teach her a lesson!"

Yasmin smirked. She had posted the video and spread the rumors. She didn't believe the school would keep someone with such a bad reputation. Once Allison was expelled, Yasmin would make sure she was disgraced and driven out of Skycrest for good!

"Birds of a feather flock together. Mia already has a bad reputation, and now with Allison, they're a perfect match," Yasmin mocked.

After the bell rang, Allison went to the indoor basketball court for her weekly basketball class. Mia still followed her, making Allison feel helpless.

As soon as they entered the court, Allison sensed something flying towards her. She looked up to see a basketball heading straight for Mia's head. Another basketball followed, but Allison swatted it back forcefully. "What are you doing?"
