Talented Wife 19
Barbara's face bore a smug smile, implying that she didn't need to take any action personally. She could leverage others against Alina.
"Now that you're carrying Kennard's child, he's bound to marry you. Could you enlighten me on how you got pregnant with his child?" Barbara inquired.
Previously, Barbara had believed that Johnny would eventually be hers, but Alina's sudden appearance had left her feeling threatened. Even if Alina were gone, there might still be another woman who could captivate Johnny's heart. So, Barbara had to find a way to conceive Johnny's child.
"Alright, so this is how it happened..." Sybil spilled the beans. She knew Kennard had feelings for Alina, and he had been thinking about her all these years. So, on the anniversary of Alina's death, when she saw Kennard drinking heavily, she intentionally wore Alina's clothes and made herself look like Alina. When Kennard saw her, he thought Alina had returned. Coupled with the fact that she had put something in his drink to cloud his judgment, Kennard fell completely into Sybil's trap.
However, since that day, he continued to sleep with Sybil occasionally, even though he kept calling out Alina's name every time.
As Barbara heard Sybil's story, a plan started forming in her mind.
Meanwhile, Danny managed to slip away from the Sutton family and sneak back into the hotel.
He swiped the keycard, opened the door, and entered the room.
Meanwhile, Drake was still at Alina's house, having not left yet. When he heard the door, presuming it was Alina returning, he rushed out, calling, "Mommy!"
However, to his surprise, it was Danny who stood before him. Both Danny and Drake looked at each other, inhaling sharply, then simultaneously exclaimed, "Why do you look exactly like me?"Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Both were surprised when they heard each other say the same thing, and then, almost in sync, they asked nearly identical questions.
"Are you Danny?"
"Are you Drake?"
Danny couldn't help but remark, "We're too much alike. Could we be actual brothers?"
Observing Drake, Danny couldn't ignore their striking resemblance. Even Danny found it hard to differentiate between them, now understanding why Johnny mistook him.
'What's going on? No wonder I was addressed as Mr. Drake when I visited the company yesterday. Could that man be my father?'
However, Danny distinctly remembered Alina telling him he didn't have a father.
Compared to Danny, Drake was much more mature. Even though he felt a deep shock within, he quickly regained his composure. "We look so much alike. It's highly likely we're brothers."
Just then, Danny's phone rang.
"It's Mommy!" Danny saw the caller ID, answered the call, and said, "Hello, Mommy."

"Baby, Mommy is downstairs at the hotel. What do you want for lunch? Mommy will have the hotel service deliver it directly."
Wide-eyed and panicking, Danny had no idea what to do. If Alina came upstairs, she would surely see the two of them, and he was certain Alina had no clue what was happening. Seeing them together would likely be a considerable shock for her. Danny abruptly hung up the phone, leaving Alina bewildered. She couldn't fathom why Danny would suddenly end the call.
"Mommy said she's coming up soon. Should she know about your situation?"
Drake shook his head and said, "Nothing is certain yet. Let's wait. Give me a strand of your hair and your contact information. I'll arrange for a paternity test. If it confirms we're brothers, we can discuss the next steps."
"Okay." Danny quickly pulled out a strand of his hair and handed it to Drake, providing him with his phone number.
Drake pressed the button for the elevator, and it ascended gradually. When it reached his floor, the elevator doors opened. Alina hadn't stepped out yet when a boy hurriedly entered. The little boy kept his head down, preventing her from seeing his face. However, Alina still felt compelled to offer a friendly reminder, "Little man, be careful."
Drake nodded, avoiding eye contact with Alina.
Alina found the child somewhat strange, and what was even more peculiar was that she felt the child's clothing looked very familiar, almost identical to Danny's.
