Chapter 1537
"Alright! You figure out what you want to eat, and I'll try to pick you up as early as I can."
Felicity couldn't help but smile.
Even though the call had ended, her smile lingered.
"Is this what they call... being in love?"
Wanting to stick together every moment.
Even Miles, usually so clueless about feelings, was eager to see his significant other as soon as possible.
...
Felicity returned to her room and booted up her laptop to sort out some minor issues for the company.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Though she was on an extended leave, she still felt connected to the Lopez Corporation's international branch. After all, it was practically her second home, so why not lend a hand when she could?
No sooner had she finished with the data than her phone rang.
Felicity glanced at the caller ID.
It wasn't Esther's number.
"Hello, Abigail."
"Felicity! Do you have a moment?" Aurora's voice buzzed with excitement, a sure sign she had made up with Craig.
Full of joy and happiness.
"I might need about twenty minutes or so, then I'm all yours. What's up?"
"Perfect, I'm on my way to pick you up from K&J Mansion, will take me about half an hour. Get ready, and let's head to the bridal shop together."
Bridal shop?
"Got a fancy event to attend?"
"Nope! It's to look at wedding dresses." Aurora's voice was tinged with shyness. "Craig mentioned, after meeting my folks, we should start planning our wedding! He's out on the road for a few days, so I thought I'd get a head start on the dress. That way, when he's back, we won't need to spend too much time picking one out."
Felicity understood.
She pursed her lips, sighing, "Abigail, are you really that in love with Craig?"
In love enough to go wedding dress shopping alone.
Frankly, Felicity thought Craig was just a handsome face and a good physique, the kind that stood out in a crowd.
But...
Handsome guys weren't exactly a rarity these days.
Especially considering the circles Abigail ran in, where were the ugly people?
Growing up surrounded by good-looking family members, she shouldn't be so obsessed with looks.
"Yes, I am. I want to marry him with all my heart."
"Alright then."
"Felicity, you haven't been through
what I have, you wouldn't understand! That day... I was
dragged off by a bunch of thugs to a secluded area. They were armed with knives, all wearing malicious grins I was completely hopeless, thinking my life was over, that I might not even survive." Aurora's voice trembled, the memory still vivid.
"Just then, Craig, a complete stranger to me, appeared. In my eyes, he was nothing short of a deity!"
He didn't retreat despite the knives.
He didn't pretend not to see to avoid trouble.
In the ensuing scuffle, the thugs were either injured or fled, and Craig himself got slashed. His
light colored tee turned a dark g
with his blood.
Finally, the police arrived.
After giving her statement, Aurora wanted to visit him in the hospital, only to find out he had left after getting stitches, claiming he had work to attend to.
He even paid his own medical bills!
He had stepped in to help purely out of kindness, without even leaving a name.
After asking around the hospital and the police, she finally learned that her rescuer was named Craig.
