Chapter 3: Getting to know Eddison
“Alone, pretty girl? Do you need a brother to keep you company? Let this brother love you well.” The landlubber’s hands were already pressing against Octavia Gills’ back, wantonly trying to slide down her back to her perfect little waist.
Feeling herself being taken advantage of, Octavia Gills turned around to see a man’s face full of obscenities approaching her, Octavia Gills’ drunkenness sobered up instantly and she panicked, standing up and using all her strength to push away the leering, grinning landlubber and shouted, “Who are you! Get your hands off me.”
The man not only did not restrain himself, but laughed more wildly and said, “Tsk, you really think of yourself as a beautiful woman, it’s your good fortune that this brother has taken a fancy to you. Before the words were out of his mouth, the man opened his arms and tried to hug Octavia Gills and pull her away.
Like a frightened bird, Octavia Gills grabbed a nearby bottle and threw it at the rogue bastard, taking advantage of the gap where he couldn’t get close enough to get away quickly, her eyes constantly searching the dimly lit venue for a familiar figure from the booze-fueled place.
“Domino, Domino, where are you?” A teary-eyed Octavia Gills shouted for Domino, who had already drunkenly stumbled onto a sofa with an “Ah!” With a shriek, Octavia Gills, wearing 8cm heels, tripped unexpectedly and knocked over Eddison, who was about to get up to go to the restroom, falling firmly onto his broad chest, and her arms instinctively clinging to his neck.
No!
Eddison, who knew what was going on, tried to push away the woman who had run into him but hung on to her drunkenness when he looked back in the dim light and saw Octavia Gills’ face. He couldn’t help but look at her innocent face, which revealed a hint of confusion and a touch of panic that made Eddison, who had been around for a long time, pity her. He was so dazzled that he felt the urge to protect her.
The landlubber who came after her saw Octavia Gills fall on top of the svelte-looking Eddison. Revealing his tattoos, a green dragon on the left and a white tiger on the right, said arrogantly to Eddison. “Kid, get out of here, this is the chick the prince had his eye on first, you better behave and get out!”
The corners of Eddison’s mouth turned upwards with a wicked smile of disdain, thinking to himself: What’s going on here? First a beautiful woman bumps into his arms, then a punk shows up who is naked and disgusting, and then he’s supposed to stage a heroic rescue? Eddison laughed at the thought, as though no one was watching.
Seeing Eddison’s disregard for him, the landlubber’s face darkened with anger and rage, and he tried to take a step forward to grab Octavia Gills before Eddison could look away. Eddison put the drunken Octavia Gills down in one smooth motion. With a wicked grin, he turned around, his cold, arrogant eyes seemingly unfocused, as quick and sharp as a hawk’s, and threw back his jacket with a swift and precise movement, landing perfectly to cover Octavia Gills’ body.
His partner, seeing the situation, rushed to his aid: “You’re not going to drink that wine, you’re not going to drink that wine!” Eddison, as one of Group Davi’s heirs, had to learn self-defence, so he spun around, grabbed him hard and pulled him forward, knocking him to the ground.NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
“Aah!” A scream was heard, followed by a huge round of applause from the crowd watching, and Eddison, who showed off his skills and manliness, was a huge hit at the bar, especially with the girls!
Back at Octavia Gills’ side, Eddison took a good look at her drunken face??not quite pretty but delicate and small, and patted Octavia Gills’ face, “Wake up, wake up, I called you a taxi. I said, I called you a taxi, can you get home by yourself? Wake up.”
Octavia Gills, who was conscious but increasingly inebriated, felt her head ache and her stomach turn upside down.
“Uh… uh…” Octavia Gills’ stomach churned under Eddison’s patting and shaking, and vomited. It was sour-smelling, and she threw up right into Eddison’s chest.
“Ah, what’s the matter with you woman? Are you a crazy woman? Is this how you treat your saviour? By throwing up on me? In TV dramas, the heroine is not ready to repay the hero with her body at this time, yet you so much as spit all over me! it’s really hard to be a good person!”
Octavia Gills vomited profusely and sobered up, Fringes of her hair fell on her long, curly eyelashes and when she lifted her head, she saw Eddison who looked a bit like Tredan. “You came to me, I knew you couldn’t be so cold and heartless. You said it didn’t matter if you were 3 or 70, you remembered in the deepest part of your heart the warmth I gave you then and no one could ever replace it. You said that no matter what I became, you would find me, recognize me and marry me! No, no, President Davi, you are President Davi. You are so noble and I am so small and insignificant that I am not worthy of you. You have made the right choice, and she is the only one worthy of you.” At this point, Octavia Gills cried out as if her heart had been torn to pieces.
Because of her upbringing, Octavia Gills has always had an inferiority complex. Even though she is talented in creating comics, how can she be worthy of the Grand Prince of Group Davi? He is of such an honourable status.
Her mother, who works as a housekeeper for the Drye Family, cannot afford the cost of her brother’s medical fees. This is Octavia Gills’ destiny, she cannot give up on her only brother and she must do everything in her power to preserve the only bloodline of the family. How could she be worthy of being with the president of the illustrious Group Davi when her father had entrusted her with such a heavy responsibility of taking care of her brother? With her heart aching like a knife was piercing it, Octavia Gills cries out as she hugs Eddison.
