Chapter 565
But the waiter, acting like someone who couldn't understand English and stubborn as a mule, kept holding onto his clothes, insisting on cleaning up for him.
Dennis was freaking out on the inside, unable to get his pants back nor simply remove them like a jacket to hand over. After several tugs, his growing impatience erupted, and he couldn't help but shout harshly, "Go away!"
He looked about to lose control and kicked at the waiter.
Worried that Dennis might cause trouble and get detained at this critical moment, Gordon quickly intervened, "Mr. Barlow, calm down. We have important matters to attend to, let's not waste time here."
While saying this, he glanced at the waiter and said in a good-natured tone: "It's fine, just a stain. We'll handle it ourselves. You go do your thing." But the waiter was still looking guilty, "But this is my fault, I can't let the guest pay for my mistake."
And with that, he once again began to search for a clean towel to wipe Dennis down.
Dennis was so angry that he almost wanted to take his pants off right there and throw them at the waiter.
"How do you even work, dilly-dallying? I said I'd handle it..."
Before he could finish, the room manager showed up, looking confused and apologetic: "Excuse me, sir, what happened? Is there anything I can do for you?"
Dennis gave no replies.
The waiter, still trying to clean the stain, lifted his head toward the manager with a sorry look, "I accidentally bumped into this gentleman while delivering room service to the neighboring room."
The room manager gave Dennis an apologetic look, "I'm very sorry, sir. I apologize for our oversight in service. How about you return to your room to change your clothes, and we will have them dry cleaned for you?"
Saying that, he even bent down in a "please" gesture.
Dennis's temper shot through the roof, but upon Gordon's reminder to avoid conflicts that could lead to scrutiny and delays at this juncture, he swallowed his anger. Almost growling, he told the room manager through gritted teeth, "I'm grateful for your attentiveness to this, but I've got a very important meeting right now and I'm in a rush to leave. Please don't waste my time, alright?"
The room manager became even more apologetic, "Of course, of course, this was our oversight."
Turning quickly to the waiter, he put on a stern face: "Hurry up and get the gentleman's clothes cleaned!"
Dennis was mute.
"Right away!" The waiter promptly agreed, meekly taking a wet tissue in one hand and carefully preparing to wipe Dennis's pants.
"Did I not make myself clear when I said it's not needed?"
Dennis couldn't help but shout again, tugging at his trousers and this time successfully pulling them back, almost falling from the excessive force but fortunately supported by Gordon just in time.
The waiter looked like he was almost on the verge of tears, "I'm sorry, sir."
His eyes still fixed on the stain he hadn't managed to clean.
The room manager was quick to apologize to Dennis again: "Sir, we're really sorry. Our waiter is new and still a bit clumsy. We'll definitely improve our training. Let me take care of that for you."
He said, taking the wet wipe from the waiter, intending to step forward and clean Dennis.
"No need!"
Finally pulled back his pants, Dennis shouted and without a second's delay turned towards the elevator.
The room manager respectfully called out to Dennis and Gordon's retreating figures: "All right, sir. If you need anything later, please feel free to contact the room service department."
He did not approach further and watched until the two had entered the elevator and the doors had slowly closed. Only then did he drop the polite smile from his face and glanced towards the server.
The waiter was now standing up straight, the panic and unease gone from his face.
He pulled out his phone from his pocket, which was still vibrating silently-a call meant to signal him to stop.
The room manager glanced at his vibrating phone, dropping "Get back to work" before turning to leave.
Dennis hurried down the elevator, his face his face turned dark with anger due to this little episode, still fuming. He was moving quickly, not watching where he was going, and failed to notice Marian rushing through the revolving door, they collided right at the entrance.
"What's the matter, don't you watch your steps?"
Marian complained reflexively.
She was hurrying along, having suddenly received news that Dennis was leaving, and she couldn't reach him by phone nor knew what was happening. So, she dashed to the hotel without paying attention, only to bump into someone at the entrance.
Initially boiling with anger and about to erupt, Dennis looked up and saw it was Marian, he paused, "Marian?"
"Dad?"
Marian was just as surprised, calling out to him, then couldn't help but look behind him and then back at him, "What are you hurrying off to?"
The hotel lobby was bustling, and Dennis couldn't explain openly, "There's some business at the company I need to take care of."
Worried that Jerry might confront Marian if she went back to her room, he quickly grabbed her and added, "What are you doing here instead of at work? You go back first, and I'll catch up when I'm free."
Marian, who was good at reading the room, could clearly sense Dennis's anxiety. Considering the threat from Brandon and the unexplained visit from Augus, sheThis belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

disappointment, "Okay."
She turned to leave with Dennis and Gordon, but something suddenly fell from above in the lobby, startling Marian with a gasp as she was pulled aside by Dennis, who was ahead.
"What's going on with this hotel?"
Marian couldn't help but complain, seeing a large banner had fallen to the ground. They both instinctively looked up at the ceiling, worrying that more objects might fall, and continued to instinctively move towards the entrance.
At the entrance, Jerry was cursing as he walked toward the revolving door. The simple-minded Jared was also frowning as he entered, occasionally looking back in confusion at the car that had mysteriously brought them here.
