Chapter 14
Chapter 14
Sheila was about to say, “My sister is.”
Suddenly, Veronica smelled the overpowering perfume from Sheila and started throwing up.
Seeing this, the maid quickly pushed Sheila away. “Keep your distance! We don’t have lime for you right now!”
“Miss, are you alright?” The maids carefully helped the weak Veronica, who was vomiting, into the room.
Sheila didn’t get any answers and was even pushed away, which made her very unhappy! But she didn’t dare to offend the people living
here.
The driver of the Blanchet family rolled down the window and kindly reminded, “You better scram, this ain’t a place for you to snoop
around.”
Sheila turned her head and asked, “Are you the driver here? Please tell me, who lives in this house?”
The driver was very cautious, “I can’t tell you who lives here, but I heard that they recently hired a bunch of new maids. Your sister might be one of them.”
Maids?
Did Ellinor come here to work as a maid? Wasn’t she an intern at Nexus Industries?
Before Sheila could ask more, the driver had already driven away.
The more she thought about it, the weirder it seemed. She called a classmate who worked at Nexus Industries and found out that Ellinor
had been fired.
So Ellinor really came here to work as a maid? Was it because being a maid required her to be on call all the time, that was why she had
to move in?
Ellinor’s ability was just that, and she bet she stole that expensive coat from her master!
Thinking about this, Sheila suddenly felt better and decided to go home and tell her father.
At the Blanchet family’s residence on the second floor.
Ellinor leaned lazily against the floor–to–ceiling window, watching Sheila leave, and a smirk appeared on her face!
The next day.
Around noon, an elegant elderly lady was helped out of a limousine and walked into the Blanchet family’s house.
Upon seeing the elderly lady, Veronica ran over, “Grandma, you’re finally here!”
“As soon as I got your call, I had someone book a flight this morning!” Marissa looked at her darling granddaughter with a worried expression, “Veronica, it’s only been a little while, how did you lose so much weight?”
Veronica complained, “Grandma, my brother’s new wife has been giving me pressure since she came in, and it made me go to the hospital.”
Marissa’s eyes widened with energy, “I want to see what’s so great about her, daring to bully my precious granddaughter! Someone, bring that Ellinor to me!”
Veronica helped Marissa to the sofa, snuggling up to her grandmother and whispering sweet words.
Soon, Ellinor was brought down by the butler.
“So you’re Ellinor?” Marissa looked her up and down.
Ellinor nodded. “Uh–huh, did you want to see me?”
Marissa’s gaze turned stern, “I heard that you bullied Veronica into the hospital? Just because you married into the family, you think. you’re the mistress of the Blanchet family now?”
Ellinor guessed the identity of the old woman and also had a rough idea of how Veronica twisted the facts.
She calmly explained, “Marissa, Veronica was the one who splashed dirty water on me first yesterday, I just defended myself. I didn’t bully her.”
Marissa turned to her granddaughter, “Veronica, is this true?”
Veronica shook her head with tears in her eyes, “Grandma, don’t listen to her making things up! There were many servants at home yesterday, they can all prove that I didn’t do anything wrong”
At Veronica’s signal, several maids immediately stepped forward.
I can vouch for Veronica, she didn’t bully Ellinor.”
“I can confirm that too!”
“And me!”
Marissa’s stem gaze turned back to Ellinor, “What do you have to say now?”
Ellinor looked at the maids who had come forward and frowned helplessly.
Everyone here was on Veronica’s side, she had no way to argue, “Marissa, I’ve said all I have to say. If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing else I can say.”
Manssa snorted coldly, “You still won’t admit your mistake? Seems like your family didn’t teach you how to behave properly, so let the Blanchet family do it! Get someone to fetch the Blanchet family rules and have her copy them a hundred times, no meals until she’s done. Learn the Blanchet family’s rules well!”
Ellinor was speechless. Why did this grandmother and granddaughter both like to teach people manners?
“Grandma, thank goodness you’re here to stand up for me!” Veronica leaned against Marissa triumphantly, picking up a dessert from the coffee table, “Grandma, you must be hungry after your flight. Have some dessert first, I’ll have the kitchen prepare your favorite lunch.”
Ellinor shouted, “Wait, don’t eat that dessert!”
Veronica was displeased, “Ellinor, this is the Blanchet family, what can’t my grandma eat? Grandma, just eat it, ignore her!”
Marissa lovingly took a big bite of the dessert that Veronica had fed her, and it was too late for Ellinor to stop her
Veronica provocatively looked at Ellinor, “Aren’t you going to copy the rules? A hundred times, remember!” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Just as she said this, Marissa suddenly turned pale, her pupils dilated, and she opened her mouth but couldn’t catch her breath.
Veronica was startled, “Grandma? What’s wrong?”
Seeing this, Ellinor quickly stepped forward to check.
Veronica disdainfully pushed her away, “Get away! Don’t touch my grandma!”
“She’s in danger, don’t get in my way!” Ellinor said.
“What danger! What are you trying to do to my grandma?” Veronica stood in front, waving her hand to stop Ellinor from getting close.
In a fit of desperation, Ellinor slapped Veronica and pushed her aside. Then, she rushed over to Marissa on the couch, hugged the old woman around the waist, and jumped up hard.
Veronica got up covering her face. Seeing Ellinor dragging Granny, she screamed, “Ah! Ellinor’s gone mad, she’s going to hurt Granny! What the hell are you all doing, save her!”
The Blanchet family’s servants picked up their tools and approached Ellinor, but no one dared to move carelessly with Marissa in her
arms.
*Back off!” Ellinor stepped back, holding Marissa.
“Old Mrs. Blanchet!”
“Let go of her!”
Suddenly, a cold voice rang out, “What’s all the commotion about!”
Theo walked in, and the atmosphere instantly tensed up.
Veronica, seeing Theo like a lifeline, threw herself into his arms, “Theo, save Granny, she’s going to get hurt by Ellinor!”
Theo frowned, looking at Ellinor who was holding Granny, he asked coldly, “Why are you doing this to an old woman?”
Just as Ellinor was about to explain, Veronica interrupted, “She made Granny mad, Granny asked her to copy house rules but she
refused. So she’s taking revenge on Granny! This woman is totally irrational, you should divorce her!”
Theo handed the interfering Veronica to Collin, his dangerous eyes staring at Ellinor, “Let go of my grandmother now!”
Ellinor said, “Wait a moment!”
Theo got impatient, “Wait for what?”
Marissa started to cough violently.
Only then did Ellinor release Marissa, and the Blanchet family members immediately surrounded her to take care of her.
Seeing his granny coughing so hard she couldn’t catch her breath, Theo grabbed Ellinor’s neck, “Who gave you the audacity to lay a hand on my grandmother?”
“…cough…” Ellinor’s feet suddenly left the ground, her face turning red from lack of air.
In Theo’s bloodshot eyes, she felt a murderous intent that was close at hand!
