CHAPTER 28
Traizle
Our new customer is living in a fine house.
Pressing the doorbell, waiting for the caller to come out.
“Delivery for Aiden Arias?” I asked when someone came out.
“Ah yes! Come in first, I forgot my wallet inside.” Arias, the customer, answered by opening the door for me.
“I can wait here.” I replied.
“No, no. I heard there are many mosquitoes outside. Get inside first. I won’t harm you in any way. I heard you are strong.” He responded, entering his house again.
I had no choice but to follow him inside.
His house is really fine inside and outside. He must be from a rich family.
“I bought some food from the Snack Bar. Pay me!” I heard him shouting.
I waited at the door. I should not enter his house more.
“What? Snack Bar?” A familiar voice asked.
“Where is she? I told her to get inside,” I heard Arias replied. “Here you are, get inside.” Arias added when he saw me at his door, pulling me to get inside.
“No need, I don’t-” I answered, unable to finish my sentence. “Have to.” I added.
“Traizle?” Zarsuelo asked confused.
He even looked at Arias, who is now smiling at us.
Aiden Arias. I remembered him mentioning this man’s name.
Ugh! I should have remembered it before coming here. The name rings some bells in my mind already, but I chose to ignore it since he is a customer.
“Let me introduce myself. I am Aiden Arias, his number one friend.” Arias said, introducing his name.
“Cerezo. Your payment please.” I answered, showing him my palm, asking for the payment.
“As for what he had said,” Arias answered, clicking his tongue. “You guys should talk first, he needs it.” he added, pointing to Zarsuelo.
I look at Zarsuelo, who is also looking at me.
“What?” I asked.
“Uhh, can we talk?” Zarsuelo asked, scratching his neck.
“Where?” I asked back.
“You guys can talk here. I will be in the kitchen and eat what I have ordered.” Arias answered, heading to the kitchen without looking back at us.
Did they plan this?
I sat in front of him, keeping my distance.
“Who planned this?” I asked already.
Zarsuelo quickly shakes his hands and his head.
“I did not, I swear my sweets,” he answered, panicky. “I did not know that he ordered at the Snack Bar.” he added.
“Why would he order from the Snack Bar when you guys are drinking?” I interrogated.
He quickly removed the alcohol from the table and put it under.
“I told you,” he answered. “We were drinking. I did not know that he called the Snack Bar to order.” he added.
“How did you know that I was the one who was going to deliver your order?” I asked again.
He shook his hands again. “I don’t really know. I am not lying to you. Don’t get mad too much, you are already mad at me.” He answered, pouting as if he were a kid who had been scolded by his mother.
“What should we talk about then?” I asked, directing him to the point after interrogating him.
“I just want to say I am sorry,” Zarsuelo said, looking down. “It’s been three days since I thought you would go back to the company and work, but you didn’t. You are not answering my phone calls or texts. I even went to your house and to the Snack Bar last day, but you never talked or looked at me.” he shared, still looking down, avoiding my eyes.
“And?” I responded.
“I’m sorry, I will stop myself from calling you some endearments. Please don’t get mad now,” he replied, now looking directly at me. “Please, work for me again. I will be good.” he added.
Looking at him, his face is blushing and his eyes are already drowsy. I guess they really drink too much.
“Traizle, are you still mad? You won’t talk to me again?” Zarsuelo asked. “I’m really sorry, and I promise I won’t call you wife.” he added.
“You should rest now. I have to go back now.” I told him and about to stand up when he held my hand.
“You still mad? I’m sorry. Please stop getting mad at me.” he said.
“I have forgiven you already. Now sleep and rest.” I responded.
Zarsuelo closed his eyes without sitting.
He is really sleeping already, even though he is sitting.
“Idiot, lay down first and sleep.” I added, guiding him to lay down.
“I am not sleepy yet.” he answered.
“Not sleepy, but your eyes are saying it all,” I replied. “Arias!” I shouted, calling his friend’s name.
“I am here, watching carefully.” Arias replied, as he eats the burger.
“Attend this oddball. I have to go back to the Snack Bar already.” I answered.
“Oh? You will go home already? I will go with you.” Zarsuelo stepped in, rising from the couch.
“No, stay here and sleep,” I commanded. “Hold this oddball now,” I told Arias, who was still watching us. “Are you going to watch, or will I smack those eyes of yours so you can’t?” I warned him.
“Hold him, of course.” Arias responded, putting down his burger and immediately hold Zarsuelo.
“Don’t call me for something like this again.” I said, reminding Arias.
“I just want to help Matthew. He’s been chickening out since you are avoiding him,” Arias replied, laying Zarsuelo down again. “He has been drinking for three days already. I think you have to know that.” he added.
Why do I have to know that?
And why is he drinking when I am just his secretary?
“It looks like you still don’t get it.” Arias commented.
Don’t still get what?
“I’m confused, direct it to the point.” I answered.
Going to another direction won’t answer my question.
“Matthew, what did you see this morning?” Arias asked Zarsuelo.
“Traizle went out with Layzen and Lyndon to the mall.” Zarsuelo answered, even though he was sleeping.
How did he know that?© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“And what happened next?” Arias asked Zarsuelo again.
“I saw Lyndon’s post on his social media,” Zarsuelo answered. “They are with someone, Layzen’s babysitter.” he added.
Did Lyndon upload a photo?
I remembered we took a photo. He uploaded that picture?
“And what about that?” I asked, still confused as to what they were trying to say.
“I am jealous,” Zarsuelo’s answered that made me look at him. “Why did they go out with someone? Someone is trying to steal Traizle from me because he knows she is mad at me.” he added.
“What he is saying? Isn’t it because he is drunk?” I asked Arias.
Maybe Zarsuelo is drunk talking. That is why he is spouting nonsense.
“Drunk people tend to be more true to themselves. Think of it as his first confession to you.” Arias explained.
“You are telling me that Zarsuelo likes me?” I asked back, more confused.
“Matthew will explain himself tomorrow. I will make sure to tell him this, so that he can definitely explain it to you,” Arias answered. “I am not in the position to tell you the reason why.” he added.
“I thought Traizle was here. I suddenly wanted to order at the Snack Bar. The food there is awesome.” Zarsuelo said, muttering to himself.
“Here is the payment,” Arias said, putting the money in my hands. “Don’t avoid him again, please. He is depressed with you being mad already. Avoiding him will make him more stressed.” he added, laughing at his own friend.
Heading out to the house, I stopped walking when I reached my bike.
How did that oddball like me in the first place? Did he really fall in love at first sight with me?
How is that possible?
