Greater countermeasure
Mr Hudson’s face turned purple in anger and frustration, he was still looking for ways to resolve the online conflict about his unruly second daughter when another set of news about the same daughter spread all through the news. “Answer me! What does this mean?” He demanded angrily as he shoved the newspaper containing the news about Hellen’s biological father into Mrs Hudson’s face.
“What are you talking about? It’s just a rumour, can’t you see someone is targeting our daughter, Are you saying we aren’t good enough for you? Would you rather have your dead wife and good daughter? Let me tell you I’m not going anywhere!” Mrs Hudson yelled, her heart racing anxiously.
She had been so shocked about the issue and before she recovered from the shock and found ways to deal with the news, Mr Hudson had already come to her demanding an explanation. She decided to muddle around it and pretend she doesn’t know anything, if not, she and her daughter would lose everything they’ve worked for over the years.
“You think this is just some rumour?” Mr. Hudson sneered. “Then we’ll put it to the test – call your daughter and we’ll do a paternity test. I have to know for sure, today. I can’t have a daughter that causes this much trouble!” He demanded. Mrs. Hudson stood frozen, her eyes wide in shock at her husband’s declaration.
‘Why would he have time to do a paternity test at a time like this? Isn’t the company facing a crisis at the moment? No, we can’t! We can’t do any paternity!’ she crumpled and began to sob heavily.
“You ungrateful man! How dare you slander me to be an infidel? Did you forget you were the one who approached me back then? I told you I was not interested yet you kept pursuing me but now after so many years, you are pointing fingers at me for cheating?” She wailed with a sorry appearance.
“How could I have time to cheat on you back then? Did you forget I was hiding from your main wife? Don’t slander me! You are the father of my daughter!” She continued without giving him a moment to say anything.
As Mr. Hudson watched his wife’s performance, he remembered how it all started. Back then, he had gone after her because he needed her help with his company. He had never truly liked her, but after his first wife got into an accident, She had been relentless in her pursuit of him, telling him it was the best opportunity to make her his second wife and not his mistress. He had finally relented and brought her home as his second wife, not out of love, but out of necessity. Now, he wondered if he had made a mistake.
His main wife and daughter never cause him problems like this.
He would not have immediately believed the news if he did not have his doubts about his unruly daughter previously and where she got her traits from. Lost for words, he decided to let the matter go for now. There were pressing issues that needed to be dealt with in the company. Family matters can wait.
“What is the situation now?” He asked his assistant, Joey, who had been waiting for him outside the house. “We found the source of the news and it’s pointing to a dark website,” the assistant replied. “However, we don’t have the main address of the person behind it, it was leading us to several other places, including Hudson’s headquarters.”
“Darkweb? What dark web?” Mr Hudson asked impatiently, wanting to get to the bottom of the issue as soon as possible and deal with the person targeting his company. “It’s a site and the place is mainly filled with video shreds of evidence of Mr Hudson’s crimes, I’m thinking the culprit specifically created the website to threaten you,” Joey explained cautiously and Mr Hudson stumbled.
“Who has my family offended lately? Who could be targeting us to this extent?” Mr Hudson groaned out in irritation. “Quite a lot of people, besides, Miss Hellen seem to have caused problems for a starting idol who has lots of backing on her last trip,” Joey explained
“What do you mean?” Before the young assistant could begin to explain, Mr Hudson’s private phone went off. Noticing the caller was Frederick, his face went pale. “Deal with the news online about your family quickly, if this affects my project, I will kill you”

“I’m certain Mark is behind this!” Michael exclaimed, his voice filled with anger. Frederick’s frustration had reached a boiling point, and he angrily threw a vase against the wall. “He must be trying to sabotage the real estate project! Has he ever shown an interest in it before?” he asked, his brow furrowed in thought. Mark had always been a thorn in his side, with any trouble he caused there was always a greater countermeasure prepared for him.
‘But how can I allow him to release his product smoothly?’ Frederick thought to himself with a frustrated sigh.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“What has he never shown interest in? I’m sure he was sent from hell to frustrate my life! I have invested all my time and energy into this project and if I lose it now, it will take a while for me to recover. And you know we don’t have that much time”
“The old man is about to decide who his successor is! And at this rate, all of Watson will be handed to Mark. Then will all our troubles amount to nothing? Never I can’t allow it!” he seemed, pacing back and forth.
“When is the final bid for the project?” Micheal asked calmly as he walked to the mini-bar in Federick’s office, he poured himself a cup of wine and turned back to his son. “It’s in two days, Hudson is my main source of getting any more funds for the project. Plus, I intend to give the construction project to them so I can strengthen my backers, Federick explained while Micheal looked thoughtful.
“Are you certain you will get the project?”
“I’m about 80 per cent sure, the remaining 20 per cent is due to my uncertainty about Mark getting involved. I can’t afford to lose this deal to Mark,”
“Then you won’t lose it. Although Alpha is the main point of Watson group and the directors seem to focus on it the most, you can use this opportunity to rope in the directors sitting on the fence as your support system. Besides, didn’t you tamper with his new project? It will delay it and we can use that to discredit him and bring the board of directors to go against him.”
“Don’t worry about Mark – he won’t have time to deal with you and fix the project at the same time. I’ll deal with him using the board, just focus on the real estate project,” Michael assured him, a calculating smile playing across his lips. His shrewdness showed as a glint appeared in his eyes.
Frederick relaxed and smiled, “Then I will leave it to you.”
