Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Chapter 20 The Best Actress Winner Was A Crazy Fan Maria.
Mia.
This was the pseudonym she had come up with when writing her first novel.
Ever since then, she had been publishing her books under the name Mia.
The first time she submitted her novel to Jeremy was as a small token of thanks.
Back then, there had been an earthquake in the mountains where her hometown was located.
When the earthquake happened, Jeremy happened to be shooting a video nearby.
At that time, Yeez Entertainment was just a small unknown studio.
Dozens of members of the Jenkins family who lived in the mountains were trapped there because of the earthquake.
Jeremy had reacted at once, driving his secondhand van back and forth the wild roads in the mountains.
After a whole day and night, he finally saved all the members of the Jenkins family who were trapped.
However, because of the bumpy mountain roads, his van was reduced to a pathetic condition.
Maria was there too.She had witnessed everything firsthand.
Jeremy plastered a smile on his face when accepting the eggs and vegetables from the villagers as gifts, but secretly shed tears over the scrapped van.
Maria didn't say anything. She just handed a short novel she had written in her leisure time to Jeremy.
Half a year later, The Mountains was released. It was the first novel adaption film from Yeez Entertainment.
Although it was made on a low budget, it swept up almost all the awards in the country that year, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Script at the International Film Festival.
The company rose to fame overnight and earned a name in the industry.
The lead actress in The Mountains was none other than Lyndsey Mosby.
"I can't promise you anything.I have to get permission from Mia first."
As soon as Jeremy finished his words, his phone rang. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
When he glanced down at the caller ID, his face changed.
"Shit!"
Cold beads of sweat began to form on Jeremy's forehead.
Mia was coming today. He was supposed to get her, but he had been held up in his office by Lyndsey.
It was only now that he remembered how late he was.
"Mi...Mia?"
Jeremy answered the phone carefully, gulping.
"I'm here.Where are you?"
Upon hearing the cold and impatient voice that he was all too familiar with, Jeremy's heart thumped! He cast an angry glance at Lyndsey and silently gestured for her to give him some privacy.
Without Mia's explicit permission, he couldn't allow anyone to even eavesdrop on his phone conversations with her.
Lyndsey stuck out her tongue, but stepped aside obediently.
"Mia, I'm in my office.I actually have something to ask you,"
Jeremy said in a low voice, covering the phone with his hand.
"Oh? What's the matter?"
Hearing that Jeremy was in his office, Maria directly walked towards the elevator banks.
There were several elevators in Yeez Entertainment: some for visitors, some for internal employees, and one for the president only.
When Vivian noticed Maria walking away, her eyebrows shot up in surprise.
It should be Maria's first time coming here.
How did she know which direction the elevators were in? And why was she walking over there in the first place? Did she plan to take the elevator upstairs and directly recommend herself to the top managers of the company? Vivian's imagination was not running wild at all, because this scene had happened quite a few times in the past.
Yeez Entertainment was still on the rise.
Every now and then, there would be a pretentious person who would come here to recommend themselves.
However, there were already a lot of talents in the company.
Those who had great ambition but little talent were basically asking for an insult! On the other hand, Maria, immersed in her phone conversation, didn't notice that Vivian had been watching her from afar for a long time. She turned a corner and arrived at the elevator banks.
Since the auditions for a main role were being held today on the first floor, the hall was lively, but there weren't many people at the elevator landing.
The president's exclusive elevator could only be operated through fingerprint recognition.
Holding her phone to her ear with her left hand, Maria reached out her right index finger and pressed the fingerprint scanner.
Beep.
The doors of the president's exclusive elevator opened, and Maria went straight in.
After a few seconds, Vivian couldn't help but come over out of curiosity, but found to her bewilderment that Maria was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh? Lyndsey wants to see me? She is going to be the lead actress in the Legend of Anne, right?"
After listening to Jeremy's request, Maria asked casually.
"Fine.Maybe she has some questions about the interpretation of the script."
The truth was, Maria had never deliberately hidden her identity, but she had never publicized it, either.
On the other side of the line, Jeremy nodded at Lyndsey. The latter covered her mouth with both hands and trembled with excitement.
