I will marry her
Marco immediately stepped into the residence of the Jovanka family, which he hadn’t visited in who knows how long. This made Marco promptly greeted by Krisna, the head servant at the Jovanka house.
“The mistress is waiting for you in the family room,” Krisna said. Marco seemed to already anticipate why he was suddenly called to his extended family’s residence. He immediately walked towards the family room, where his own mother was already waiting for him.
“Good evening, Mom,” Marco greeted with a friendly smile as he always did to greet Elena. However, Elena looked at him with an indifferent face as Marco had predicted beforehand. Nevertheless, Marco still approached his mother and affectionately kissed her cheek.
“It seems my Mom is in a bad mood,” Marco said as he sat in front of Elena with a cup of coffee that had been served by the attendant earlier.
“Of course, I am angry. How could I not be angry with your behavior?” Elena said, causing Marco to finally set down the cup. He gazed at his mother calmly, already anticipating what would happen next.
“What did I do?” Marco asked, making Elena look at him with a sharp gaze.
“If your father knew what you were doing, he would surely kick you out of this house immediately. Luckily, he is currently in Turkey,” Elena said, making Marco just smile.
“Hasn’t it been a long time since I lived in this house?” Marco replied, making Elena even more annoyed because her son could always answer all her questions with a handsome and calm face.
“Mom already knows all your misdeeds from Arabella,” Elena said, making Marco straighten up slightly, looking at his mother.
“So, will you approve of my decision?” Marco asked, making Elena immediately stand up from her seat.
“Approve? What do you mean? Is it really your decision? Don’t tell me you’re going to marry the woman carrying your child and leave Arabella. I will never approve of that relationship,” Elena said, making Marco get up from his seat and walk closer to Elena. He tried to calm his mother and invite her to sit down.
“Mom, please open your heart and listen first. Maybe Arabella didn’t explain how it happened. If you knew, it was an unintentional mistake. I was drunk at the company anniversary event. I didn’t know that woman would get pregnant with my child, and now I can’t just let her go. You also wouldn’t want to see the blood of the Jovanka lineage wandering out there without a clear direction,” Marco said, making Elena fall silent. It seemed Elena was also thinking along the same lines as Marco. For them, pure blood from their lineage was something precious and should not be wasted.
“Then what’s your plan?” Elena asked, making Marco tug at the corner of his lips.
“I will marry her,” Marco said casually, making Elena look at him sharply again.
“Then, what about Arabella? What about our family’s relationship with her family? Do you want to destroy the friendship between your father and Arabella’s father?” Elena said, making Marco shake his head.
“I will marry her without anyone knowing. I just want to create a status bond between me and her, just because of the child she’s carrying so that they have the Jovanka name. After that, yes, of course, I will divorce her and take custody of the child. After that, we can discuss marriage with Arabella again,” Marco said, making Elena pause for a moment to consider the idea Marco had given.
It seemed that Marco’s idea wasn’t bad; it was acceptable and reasonable. However, what made Elena slightly worried right now was about Arabella herself. When Arabella forced her to meet and told her everything, Elena could see a mixture of sadness, anger, and disappointment in Arabella’s eyes. It made Elena unsure if Arabella would agree with Marco’s decision. It seemed Marco realized what his mother was thinking.
“If you’re thinking about how Arabella will react, I will handle it. I will be the one to explain, and I will persuade Arabella to agree with all these plans. After all, this is also for our future,” Marco said again, making Elena just exhale sharply.
“You can’t suddenly bring in a grown child between your marriages,” Elena said again, making Marco smile once more. It seemed that Marco had planned it well in advance.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“Arabella will never agree to marry when I’m already someone else’s husband, but we can deceive the public. We can say that Arabella and I already had a child first, and we secretly got married before finally announcing the big wedding. They won’t suspect that the child isn’t mine and Arabella’s. Everything can be arranged. We can easily deceive the public in today’s era,” Marco said, making Elena finally sigh deeply.
“Why would you behave like this, making your Mom’s head truly ache. After all, I will have to face Arabella’s extended family later. They might not agree,” Elena said, making Marco finally pull his mother into his embrace. Marco was indeed the type of person who deeply cared for his own mother.
“Mom, you don’t need to worry about anything beyond your capacity. Leave everything to me. I’ve arranged it as best as possible, and it won’t ever put us at a loss. That child will be mine. We just need to provide compensation to that woman for carrying my child. After that, I will proceed with marrying Arabella. It’s as simple as that, Mother,” Marco said, making Elena sigh in frustration.
“If saying it is easy, but actually carrying it out might not be. There are people who may not agree with your words. Surely some of them will dig into everything, and what if everything is exposed and proves that you’ve been lying?” Elena said, once again making Marco shrug nonchalantly.
“Nothing will happen when the power of money can dominate. So, Mom, calm down. Don’t think about it too much. So, our problem is solved, right?” Marco said as he got up from his seat, making Elena immediately look at him sharply.
“Can you stay overnight in this house? This is your home too. You’re still not married, but you’re stubborn enough to live alone,” Elena said, making Marco just shrug nonchalantly.
“I am an independent person, Mom. So, understand your son,” Marco said, making Elena unable to do anything else with her stubborn son.
