Chapter 19 Forest of Darkness
Hailey’s Point of View
“Are we close?” I asked them.
I’ve been tired of walking before, but we still haven’t reached the Forest of Darkness.
“Don’t be bored. Maybe when we’re there, you’ll suddenly run away. ” I just ignored Demon.
I caressed my numb thigh.
As I looked at the ground, I noticed that its color was changing. The formerly brown soil turned brownish black.
I also noticed that the roots of the tree are longer now. I feel like there is something underground.
“Didn’t you notice anything?” I got their attention.
“We don’t feel anything weird.” Raze replied.
My hair flew because the cold wind passed through me.
I looked at Raze and Demon, who were walking complacently.
I hugged myself. I just ignored how weird I was feeling.
“Here we are in front of the Forest of Darkness.” Raze declared.
“Really?” I asked in disbelief.
“It doesn’t seem scary.” I added.
They laugh like psychos.
I almost fell because something came out of the tree. He was wearing a black cape. His face I could not see because it was covered.
He was holding an ax. His presence was so strong that even I could feel it.
“Will you bring us to death?” I joked.
“No. But if you want, I can take you there. ” He said in a horrifying tone.
“I’m just kidding.” I said, and I raised both my hands.
“Welcome to the Forest of Darkness.” He said and grinned.
He looked at me. Now I can see his mouth. It made me smile.
The tree opened and a portal emerged. The Demon entered first, followed by Raze.
Before I could enter, someone grabbed my arm.
“Be careful because you’re the one who wants to kill the monsters inside.” He warned me.
He removed his hand from my arm, so I went inside.
“I’ll admit I’m terrified of him.” I said in my mind.
As we walked, the atmosphere grew darker.
“Don’t you have a light there?” I asked them.
“If I had a light earlier, I would have turned it on.” Demon said sarcastically.
“And one more thing, Raze and I don’t need a light. Because our eyes are clear even in dark places. Remember, we’re vampires. ”
I want to kick Demon. Previously, he was annoying. I know they are vampires, but what about me?
I can’t see, especially if the surroundings are darker.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Someone grabbed my waistband.
“You’re just here next to me.” He said calmly.
I touched his clothes because he might let go of the grip on my waist.
“Don’t worry. As soon as someone touches me, I won’t let go, or even let go of her. ” He whispered in my ear.
I could feel his warm breath touching my ear.
“It’s getting too dark. We need to find a house. ” Raze grabs our attention.
“Where can we find a house?” I asked.
“Seriously Raze? Here in the middle of the forest? It’s impossible to have a house here.” I said, and he looked directly into my eyes.
“Find a house or will you be the monster’s food?” He tried to scare me.
We have seen three houses before, but I feel strange in this house.
There seems to be something wrong. Why is there a house here in the middle of the forest?
Even before we could get approached to the house, large monsters blocked our way.
We want to move our bodies, but we can’t.
The monster said, “Don’t try to move anymore because we used black magic on you to keep you from moving.”
The monster approached me and brought me closer to the other place.
“Demon, help me!” I shouted.
The monster lowered me to the ground. I don’t know where I am now.
“You are here in my kingdom.” The voice said.
A monster came out of the dark part.
“M-Monster.” I stammered.
His face was more frightening compared to the monsters before him.
“You are the one to whom I will make an offering so that our king may live again.” He says.
“Why me?” I asked anxiously.
“We’ve been waiting a long time for someone to come into our area to make an offering.” He explained.
I remembered the words of the man who we encountered at the door of the Forest of Darkness.
“Let me go.” I begged.
“I’m not stupid enough to do that. The offering is already here, why should we release it? ”
He held my jaw tightly. I feel like I’m rising. I can no longer touch the ground with my feet.
“I’m not going to kill you yet because there’s a right time for me to do that.” He said before throwing me against the wall.
I was caught on my back because his throwing at me was very strong.
“Watch the offering carefully. If she escapes, I will kill you. ” He commands the monster soldiers.
At this time, I now need the help of Demon and Raze.
“I hope someone saves me.” I exclaimed.
The two monsters laughed.
“No one will save you. You are destined to die here in our kingdom. ” The monster on the right said.
“Why do you follow him? You are not slaves to obeying his every command. ”
The two monsters looked at each other.
“Because he’s our boss.” The monster on the left answered.
“Is there a boss who will threaten you to die if I escape?”
“He’s still our boss.” They both said.
“Wake up to the truth. He considers you a useless monster. When you die, you will just be thrown away like a piece of trash. ” I insisted.
“Help me get out. I promise I’ll set you free here. ” I begged.
They nodded. Even before they approached me, there was a big arrow that hit them in their heads.
I looked at the door and saw the monster they considered the boss, who had mercilessly killed them.
“If you had believed in me, you would not have died.” I said in my mind.
“If you don’t deceive them, they won’t die. It’s your fault. ” He blamed me.
“You have no mercy.” He laughed.
“You’re right. I look like you because you killed them. ” I shook.
“No. I just said the truth. ”
“Because you told the truth, so they died.”
“I’m right. You’re a monster with a dark heart. You shouldn’t have lived. Maybe no one loves you because you’re bad! ” I shouted at him.
He pulled out the arrow and pointed it at me.
His eyes were on fire.
“Kill me so you can offer nothing to your king.” I said bravely.
“That’s what I want. Brave girl. But what’s your courage for if you can’t save yourself? ” He said before coming out and leaving me.
The two corpses of the monster disappeared and turned to ashes.
I have no purpose. I always depended on others to survive. I’m weak. I can’t defend myself.
