Three days later, Imogen took off the bandages on her foot and treated Cordelia to a big meal.
“I have been busy these two days and haven’t had time to ask you about it. Cordelia, what’s the
relationship between that girl and your husband? Is it a misunderstanding?”
Cordelia got married at a young age. She had been a good wife in a low-key way these years and had
been very serious about preparing for pregnancy.
Therefore, in the eyes of outsiders, Cordelia and Elijah must be in a happy marriage.
“That girl… is the younger sister of his best friend. They have known each other since they were
young,” Cordelia narrated with downcast eyes. Her eyes were filled with sadness.
Imogen frowned. “But they act too intimately. Doesn’t Elijah know how to behave?”
“I don’t know what he thinks. Anyway, that girl is confident to get him,” Cordelia said.
Imogen’s eyes widened.
“Actually, I asked for a divorce, but Elijah wants me to get divorced without getting any property,”
Cordelia continued.
Imogen was furious and couldn’t help wanting to curse, “What a
ony
up my mind. It will be the best ending if he and I can reach an agreement. However, if he doesn’t care
about the three-year marriage, I won’t be nostalgic for anything. I will keep further and further away
from him as soon as possible!”
Imogen knew that Cordelia had a crush on Elijah all the time back then. Seeing her end up in the
current situation, Imogen could feel her and felt sorry for her.
At this moment, Cordelia’s phone rang suddenly. It was the assistant of her teacher.
“Cordelia, there is a stroke patient in Beilve Hospital who urgently needs acupuncture. Mr. Carter wants
you to go and help with it.”
Cordelia was the last student of Milo Carter, a master of alternative medicine. Normally, she didn’t
easily give treatment to patients. Usually, Milo would assign patients to her.
“Okay, I’ll go now.”
After hanging up the phone, Cordelia patted Imogen’s hand. “I have to go now. There is something
urgent. Thank you for the dinner.”
Imogen held her face helplessly. “Cordelia, you’ve been very busy recently. Take care!”
“I know.” Cordelia smiled and waved at her. After that, she left the restaurant quickly.
None of Cordelia’s friends or family members knew that she
Cordelia took a taxi and went back to the apartment to get her medicine box. To save time, she directly
drove the red supercar that Elijah gave her.
If a stroke patient missed the prime time for treatment, there would inevitably be sequelae. So Cordelia
did not dare to neglect at all.
The patient was an old man in his seventies and could only be treated conservatively.
After checking the patient, she knew what to do and immediately gave treatment.
Everything went smoothly. After the acupuncture treatment, the old man regained consciousness but
still couldn’t speak. He also needed modern medicine treatment.
After receiving gratitude from the old man’s family members, Cordelia left the ward. When passing by
the rehabilitation department, Cordelia saw Elijah’s figure from a distance.
She got closer, and a young nurse just ran over. “Mr. Hansen, Mrs. Hansen said she is in pain and
wants you to get in to accompany her.”
“Mrs. Hansen?” Cordelia thought and was dumbfounded.
“I am genuine Mrs. Hansen, but I am standing here. So who is that Mrs. Hansen?” She thought.
At this time, in the recovery room, a crying voice sounded. “Elijah, I’m in pain. Elijah, come in quickly.”
Then Elijah walked toward the recovery room quickly. He looked in a hurry and very anxious.
Cordelia clenched the medicine box she carried, turned around, and left dejectedly.
After putting the medicine box in the car, she didn’t leave right
away.
She knew it was not suitable for her to drive in her current state.
So she sat on the bench in the hospital yard, trying to space out and adjust her state.
The phone rang suddenly. It was Elijah.
She cleared her throat and answered the phone, pretending to
be calm.
“Cordelia, are you stalking me?”
