THE NEXT DAY
I woke up feeling very refreshed. All the pain of yesterday had almost disappeared. I stretched my body and was about to stand up when I felt something weighing me down.
I looked down and saw Damian’s arm wrapped around my waist. I didn’t notice he had been lying there all along.
I felt really pressed so I tried to lift his hands carefully so I wouldn’t wake him but that only made his tighten his arms around me.
I tried harder but he dragged me closer to himself. I gasped in shock because our body were so close that I could feel the heat emanating from his body.
What was more shocking that was that he was shirtless. His well toned abs were giving me quite a show.
His sleep eyes fluttered open and he stared at me with a smile on his lips. Oh God, I could get lost in that gaze of his forever.
“Where are you princess?” I heard his husky morning voice that made my panties wet.
I could feel my throat dry. What are you doing to me Damian?
“I need to use the restroom.” I managed to croak out.
“Can’t we just stay here like his for a few more minutes?” He whined, holding me tighter like I would disappear any moment from mow.
I chuckled at his childish behavior. He looked really cute right now.
“I would love that too but I really need to use the restroom right now.” I urged.
“Aright.” He said in defeat, releasing his hold on me.
I smiled and stood up.
“Don’t waste time in there or I’ll be tempted to come join you.” I could feel my face heat up I heard when I heard what he said.
“Flustered already?” He teased.
“No.” I lied as I tried to hide my red face.
I wanted to leave but he quickly held my hand and stood up, facing me. I looked down at my feet like they were the most important things in the world right now.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
“Don’t ever hide your face from me princess.” He muttered as he held my chin and lifted my face up to look at him.
I sucked in a harsh breath.
“You are too beautiful to hide your face.” He said as he stroked my cheek lightly and pecked it lightly.
I blinked as he uttered those words. He knows how to make someone feel uncomfortable with just his words. I opened my mouth to say something but no words could come out.
“I guess I’ve kept you here for too long. You can go use the restroom now.” He said and smiled as he let go of my hands.
I didn’t say anything but scuttle towards the bathroom. I released the breath I’ve been holding when I’ve holding. What the hell. I felt like my heart was about to burst out of my chest.
He just says those words like they meant nothing. Like it was a normal thing to say. He doesn’t even know how those words he utters affects me.
Arghhhh. I thought I would faint because of the way my heart was hitting my ribcage. My thoughts were cut off when I felt my bowels threatening to burst.
I sat on the toilet and released myself. When I was done, I stood up and stood in front of the wash had basin. I put on the tap and washed my hands and face.
I raised my head up and my eyes caught my reflection on the mirror. I looked really horrible. I raised my hands and touched the bandage wrapped around my head.
I released a painful grunt. I still hurt badly. I winced when I saw the blue bruises on my face and neck. I raised up my clothes and I saw my stomach filled with more bruises.
I even had a bandage wrapped around my stomach. I removed it slowly. I grained when I saw the cuts all over my stomach.
It made me remember what I had gone through last night. How Roman kidnapped me, beat me up and almost had me raped.
I was really traumatizing that tears started to fall freely from my eyes. I sniffed and used my hands to clean my tears.
If Damian hadn’t come for me, I wonder what would have happened to me now.
“Don’t forget that he was the one that made you go through everything. If he hadn’t kidnapped you or taken you to the club that day, you wouldn’t have had an encounter with Roman and you wouldn’t have been through all of these.” My inner woman reminded him.
She’s right. It’s all Damian’s fault. If he hadn’t kidnapped me, I would be at home by now. Probably lying on my couch and stuffing my face with popcorn. Or maybe homeless by now.
But my life would still have been peaceful. I would gave even gotten a job at another place. I wouldn’t have to go through what I’m suffering from right now.
I’m at fault also. I shouldn’t have been so inquisitive. I should have just passed by when I heard that noise at the alley. My curiosity led me to where I am right now.
If I could turn back the hands of time, I wouldn’t have made the mistajes I made. I just wish that my life can go back to the way it was before.
Peaceful and boring.
Enough of the regrets. Right now, I need to go out there and face my reality. I still need that answer from Damian. Whatever his answer is, I’m already prepared.
I wrapped the bandage back around my waist and arranged my shirt back. I took in a deep breath and walked towards the door.
I opened it and saw Damian standing in front of it. He had his hands raised like he was about to knock.
The worried look he had on his face vanished when he saw me emerging from the restroom.
“For a moment, I thought bad had happe…….”
“We need to talk Damian.” I said cutting him off.
“What’s wrong princess?” He asked me in concern as soon as he noticed my serious expression.
“We didn’t finish our discussion last night.” I answered as I walked further into the room and sat on the bed.
“What were we talking ab……”
“Don’t play with me Damian. You clearly know what I’m talking about.”
He opened his mouth to say something but I beat him to it.
“You have answered my question. I asked if you were with the mafia. I want nothing but the truth.” I pleaded in desperation.
“What does it matter?” He asked.
“I just need to know what I’m dealing with so please be honest with me.” I answered.
“You really want the truth?” He asked me.
“Yes.” I answered.
“First promise me something.” He said.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Promise me you won’t take any drastic decision once you learn the truth.” He pleaded.
“But..”
“Just promise me.” He said more desperately.
“Alright. I promise. Now tell me the truth.” I urged as I braced myself for the worst.
“You’re right. I’m not just part of the mafias, I’m a Mafia Don.”
