Damian’s Obsession

25

“What were we talking ab……”

“Don’t play with me Damian. You clearly know what I’m talking about.”

He opened his mouth to say something but I beat him to it.

“You have answered my question. I asked if you were with the mafia. I want nothing but the truth.” I pleaded in desperation.

“What does it matter?” He asked.

“I just need to know what I’m dealing with so please be honest with me.” I answered.

“You really want the truth?” He asked me.

“Yes.” I answered.

“First promise me something.” He said.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Promise me you won’t take any drastic decision once you learn the truth.” He pleaded.

“But..”

“Just promise me.” He said more desperately.

“Alright. I promise. Now tell me the truth.” I urged as I braced myself for the worst.

“You’re right. I’m not just part of the mafia, I’m a Mafia Don.”

Damian stared at her to see if she had any shocked expression or see if she would lash out at him but was surprised to see she still remained calm and collected like she had expected the news.

He stared at her for a while but she still remained silent. Her silence was starting to make him really uncomfortable.

When he couldn’t bare the silence anymore, he decided to break it.

“It seems like you already know.” He said waiting for her to say something but she still remained quiet.

“Why aren’t you saying something?” He asked desperately but his question was still met with silence.

He was starting to get very frustrated little by little.

…………………………..

I sat down calmly, lost in my thoughts. I wasn’t surprised or disappointed like I thought I would be when he finally told me who he really was.

It was like I was expecting it already. He had already murdered two people right before my eyes. Maybe more when I’m not there.

This was it, harsh reality of my life. I didn’t know what to do now. Should I scream at him, cry and hit him for lying to me all this time?

Come to think of it, I don’t have the right to do so because I’m just a priced trophy to him.

I never knew reality has always been this harsh and cruel.

“Why don’t you say something.” I heard him say so I raised my head to stare at him.

“What do you expect me to say?” I asked back.

“Anything. You can scream at me or hit me. Just give me a reaction.” He looked really desperate.

“And what difference is it going to make?” He was taken aback by my question.

“I don’t even think I have any right to get angry. I’m just your property.”

“Selina…” He looked quite hurt by what I said but I didn’t care.

His pain can’t compare to the one I’m feeling right know.

“I am angry about you being a mafia don. What pained me the most was that you didn’t deem it fit to let me know. I had to find out from someone else.” I said.

“It isn’t like that Selina. I was planning to tell you.”

“When would you tell me?” I asked him.

He was about to say something but I beat him to it.

“Or where you thinking that I would run away? I’ve already seen you murder two people in cold blood but I’m still here. Face it, you weren’t planning to tell me from the get go. It’s quite funny how I have been thinking that I have finally had a place in your heart. I guess this is really the extent of our relationship.” I said, my heart threatening to burst out of my chest.

“The relationship between a master and a slave.” He looked really dumbstruck and heartbroken but I didn’t care.

I had to draw the line this early so I wouldn’t catch unwanted feelings that would make me regret later on.

“I was scared that you would be disappointed in me.” He croaked out, his eyes were already red. Don’t tell me he’s about to cry.

I had the urge to stand up and wrap my hands around him and tell him I wasn’t mad or disappointed anymore but I held myself back.

“You know what? It doesn’t matter anymore. Please leave, I need to rest.” I muttered in dismissal as I laid on the bed and covered myself with the duvet.

I felt his presence in the room before he finally left and shut the door behind him.

I know I was really harsh towards him right now but I didn’t care. This isn’t what I should be wasting my time on. I should be planning my escape instead.

I laid comfortably on the bed. When I’m finally out of here, Damian would be the last of what I’ll be thinking about.

I’m sure it would be the same for him too so I better get a grip of myself now and focus on what’s more important which is my freedom.

In a dark room stood an unknown man standing at the window watching what was happening downstairs.

The door opened and a man whose skin was filled with tattooes walked in.

“Boss.” He greeted with a bow.

“How are our love birds doing?” The boss asked when he noticed the man’s presence, taking a sip of the vodka he was holding.

“They seem to be having a lovers quarrel.” The tattooed ma ln answered.

“That only mean their getting closer.” The boss said with a smirk forming on his lips.

“Boss.. it’s been about two weeks now. When are we going to attack Damian? He needs to pay for what he has done to us.” The tattooed man asked impatiently.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

“Relax. Patience is a virtue. We’ve waited years for the right moment. Our wait won’t be futile all because if your impatience.”

“But….”

“Just back and keep updating on their daily activities. I’ll let you know when it’s the right time.” The boss ordered.

“Okay boss.” The tattooed man said and left.
