Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1285

"Heh..."

A low chuckle slipped out as Flora tossed the prescription onto the table, leaning back in her chair with a gaze as frosty as a winter morning, fixed squarely on Sydney.

Meeting Flora's eyes, Sydney felt like her scalp was about to burst. Her whole body started to tremble slightly. "Sydney, be honest, did you really write this yourself?" Corbyn asked sternly, his gaze boring into Sydney.

"I..." Sydney clenched her teeth, avoiding Flora's piercing look. "Yeah, I wrote it."

She couldn't back down now!

She put on a face of heartbreak, as if Corbyn's doubts had wounded her pride deeply.

Seeing the would-be medical prodigy turn pale, Scott jumped in, "Corbyn, seriously? Enough already. Doubting her time and again. Sydney's the real deal; she wrote it. How could she plagiarize? With her top-notch talent at the Medical Institute, who could she possibly copy? If she plagiarized, I'll eat my hat!"

Corbyn, too, felt the chance of Sydney plagiarizing was slim, and his expression softened.

Even though Sydney's personality wasn't his favorite, if she was truly skilled, he was open to taking her as his apprentice.

"Your prescription is truly impressive," Corbyn admitted sincerely. "I think there's no need for further testing. We can announce you as the winner of this assessment, and I'll happily take you as my disciple-"

"Thank you, Master!" Sydney burst out with excitement.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

"Heh... You're quick with that, aren't you?"

Flora chuckled softly, leaning back in her chair, her gaze sweeping over Sydney, noting her face turning ghostly pale. "Do you wish I'd just sit here quietly?"

Her lips curled into a slight, chilling smile. "But with you throwing this in my face, I can't just let it go."

"What do you mean?" Scott's gaze turned sharp.

"It means that her 'not-so-bright'

brain is about to be 'twisted off', as she put it." Flora's dark eyes locked onto Sydney. "I'm right here, and you dare use my prescription for the assessment. Should I applaud your bravery or your foolishness?

At her words, it was clear to anyone paying attention that something was off.

"Sister, do you mean this prescription is yours?" Corbyn's expression shifted dramatically as he looked sharply at Flora. "Yes." Flora's expression remained ice-cold.

"This..."

The senior members exchanged glances, caught off guard by this twist.

Scott was dumbfounded too.

The prescription was Flora's???

"Sydney, is this true?" He turned to Sydney, his eyes filled with inquiry and accusation.

Inwardly, Sydney cursed Flora

countless times. She was so close, just a bit more, and Corbyn would have taken her as his disciple!

Why did Flora have to speak up!

She only lost a prescription, but what she ruined was her entire future!

Flora did it on purpose, deliberately trying to ruin her!

"Of course not!" Sydney denied fiercely. "I wrote the prescription myself. I have no idea why Flora would claim it's hers. And besides, do you really think a woman who's only been in the Medical World for a few days could whip up something like this?"

Honestly...

It seemed pretty unlikely.
